I could probably do with a little bit help or ideas with fixing up my diet. I am trying to lose some weight. I dont think its too bad, its way better than a few months ago anyway where I used to eat alot of sweets, buns, cakes, and yummy things.

Anyway I have always ate either porridge or two poached eggs on two slices of toast. I have since weighed out the porridge so I know exactly how much im getting. Is there anything I can add to it, it can get quite boring and there's no protein but what kind of protein for porridge?
I have also swopped the bread with two oatcakes when I have the eggs.

For lunch, I would have two boiled eggs and a small salad with beetroot, tomatoe, cucumber.

For dinner I have given up with potatoes and have a mix of loads of veg, broccoli, carrot, cabbage, cauliflour, green beans, peas. Not them all together but maybe a mix of three or four. I would also add a turkey or chicken fillet, or fish. I hardly ever eat red meat.

For a snack maybe an apple or a very yummy peanut bounce ball from the health food shop.

Im probably not eating any fats, or am i? I dont know.

Is this ok, is there anything I could change or add?

You could use the porridge to make oat pancakes.

    60g oats
    150ml milk
    1 egg

    Blend them altogether.

I always mix berries through my porridge, usually blue berries and Raspberries.
Raisins if i'm feeling a bit lack luster and craving something sweetish. I always put a good helping of cinnamon through the porridge as well as I am led to believe it's pretty good for you and I like the taste anyways.

If you are looking to liven up your porridge the following are all pretty yum!

    • Banana, chopped nuts (some protein for ya there) and honey
    • Grate an apple, and a shake of cinammon
    • Stawberries and a spoon of nutella (okay that not very healthy but the odd bit won't kill ya)
    • I get a seed and nut mix from Holland & Barrett, used to have something similar in tesco and am sure other places too which is nice and adds a bit of crunch.
    • Dried fruit - sultanas/cranberries/blueberries/apricots etc
Basically, I think you can pretty much put anything on porridge so experiement.
