I have an admit in MSc SWDD and I am an International student (NON-EU) from India. I have an engineering Background in Electronics and Communication.
Looking at the course it looks quite straight forward.

I don't have fantastic C.S background but I know a lot . Looking at the cost for Non EU students(19,000 euros) is this worth the Investment ?
I hear Galway is a great place.

Will I be allowed to use the library after the end of this month when my registration expires? I won't be graduating until October.

Your card won't be disabled for a good until after you graduate if that's what you mean. You won't be able to take books out though unless you're registered for that academic year afaik.

    In other news:
So the registration website sis.nuigalway.ie crashed.

I registered for NUIG today and uploaded my photo and that, but feel that the dimensions are off. I'd like to re-upload the photo, but can't figure out how. Anybody got any suggestions?

In my experience you are stuck with that photo for 4 years, no matter how many times you try and change it.

You might have to go into the registration office and ask that they change it.

Anyone know what's being built infront/behind the XL shop?

I'm hoping to do a post grad in NUIG next year, the Professional Masters in Education.

Could anyone say if the Post Graduate Open day on the 11th will be worth going to? I'd love more information obviously, just looking for a word from someone who's maybe been before or who knows what to expect? :)

Yes it would. Will be going to it myself. Like any open day there'll be staff from the various departments/courses who you can ask questions on the course etc

Would anyone be able to recommend somewhere that might be open in the evenings that I could use for one-on-one grinds? Would use a library room but evening is the only time that suits.

In June? iirc half the rooms in the campus will be open with no one in them, just pick somewhere off the beaten track a bit and make sure to sit somewhere that someone else looking for a vacant room can see you without popping in to check if it's free.

Anywhere off the concourse would be fine. There's nobody around so you will have a lot of choice.
