cheap outboard fuel tank

    anyone know where id pick up a cheap outboard fuel tank even second hand there 70 or 80 euro. i dont know if the outboard is running yet so dont want to spend to much or is there an easier way just to test it out a diy job cheers

    did you say cheap diy method.......?

    If you have the fuel line with primer ball , then remove the tank fitting (if there is one) , grab an empty 2l coke bottle drill a hole in the cap to fit the fuel line. half fill the bottle with fuel, screw on the cap , make sure the fuel line goes to the bottom. Store the bottle upright even tie it there if you can. prime the ball and the fuel pump will pull the fuel through once the engine starts.

    This is by no way fool proof, make sure the hose is all the way to the bottom you don't want to suck in air, also make sure no dirt or water gets in the fuel seal the hose around the cap it you can.


    can't get any cheaper than that :D

    yea that will do cheers. i dont have a primer bulb but there only a fiver better then paying 60 if it doesnt even run
