Newbie question but how do ye get the DL packages?

    Last years options were:

Buy each DLC individually. IIRC it was about 160 per wrestler. Some things were free such as retro attire, but because this game is 50% in the olden days then i cant see that being the case.

The other option is to buy the Fan Axxess Pack which is usually like 800/ish and gets you all the dlcs paid for in advance. Which is handy if you definitely want everyone in the list and plan on keeping the game for months.
If you dont think you will be, wait until you have it for about 3 weeks and if you still dont think you'll be trading it in then buy the pack. (i wish i done that last year)

Delighted Gangrel is in there, still no Kaientai though :(

Also, since when have moves been DLC items?

Will all the DLC characters be available when the game is released or is there a release date for them?

More than likely dripfed every 2/3 weeks. 3 at a time and generally with a theme to it, for example Women; AJ, Layla and natalya. Foreigners; drew, yoshi and tensai etc.

The roster looks very complete. I am really glad to see the addition of DDP. Is Mike Tyson the only pre-order bonus available in Ireland? Xtravision sometimes throw in a free dvd with WWE games?

Yes and no. If you can plug your 360 into the modem with an ethernet cable, you won't need the wireless thing. And if you have a credit card, I think you can use it to buy the stuff instead of MS points.

But basically, what you've described is my set-up too. Wireless thing, XBox Live membership and buy Microsoft Points

Ah cool , Yea its a pity my modem is in a different room and would mean a really long cable :)

I was hoping we could download Pillman and Funk early but oh well.

The game is shaping up to be great but I just really hope they sort out the servers this time.

Also does anyone know how many human players you can have in a royal rumble?

I remember playing with 4 before in WWE 12 but can you go any higher?

I thought it was 6? Because you could do 6 man tags and it was 6 for the EC; (4 in pods and 2 in the ring)

1600 is a bit of a shock, but I suppose they need to make it cheaper than what it is altogether. I thought it would be 80 points each and 800 for the the fan access.
But I suppose there wasn't nearly as much on offer.

I tell everyone this. Buy a pair of homeplugs. Basically you plug one into a socket on the wall, and attach an ehternet cable from modem into the plug, plug the other one in behind your xbox or w/e, and attach a Ethernet cable from that to the xbox. It sends the broadband signal over your electricity wires basically.

Much cheaper, more reliable and has far more uses than an xbox wireless adapter.

I don't understand what you mean, and I am currently having issues with my laptop's wireless connectivity. Can you show a link or a picture of what it is you mean? Maybe I can use them.

THis sums it up as basic as I can get

    Powerline_network.jpg

It really is that simple. Your internet gets transferred over your electricity line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,478 ✭✭✭✭gnfnrhead

I fail to see how that actually works. The Ethernet signal would be way lower than your mains signal. I wouldnt have thought it would work on it. Ethernet cables use eight very thin copper strands wrapped together to increase speed, mains cables are three straight runs of much thicker copper, especially in sockets.

It uses a (higher I think) frequency that does not interact/interfere with the electricity line.

I've currently got 4 around the house and one out in the garage/lounge area, all are gigabit, and all have switch boxes at the end of the line, connected to many Ethernet outlets/wireless routers, and not a single packet drop. I have them set up in a network so perfect for streaming/file transfer. The garage is about 100 metres away also!

Remember, your house needs to have been built in the last, 20-30 years maybe, as very old houses wont have compatible wiring around the house.

Cheers Tinie , where would you pick one of them?

Amazon is probably your best bet:

these are the ones I have, but with gigabit compatibility: http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-TL-PA211KIT-200Mbps-Powerline-Ethernet/dp/B004INVKP4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1349455786&sr=8-1

If you wont be using a home network, or streaming HD content or whatever, then those ones above, the 200mbps pair, are fine for you.

Buy this also ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-Unmanaged-Desktop-TL-SF1005D-Plastic/dp/B000FNFSPY/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1349455870&sr=8-4 ) if you want to connect many various Ethernet connections (desktop, xbox, ps3, laptop, blu ray player etc.) out of the one home plug. It just splits the internet into 4 different outputs, so you can have 4 different machines using the one broadband output basically.

Any word on Steve Blackman being added to the roster? I have not seen him mentioned yet.

Hope he gets added, would be great to have a Blackman v Shamrock match up in the game. Or put them together on a tag team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,478 ✭✭✭✭gnfnrhead

Think they might leave Blackman out. If they put him in, everyone would pick him as he would have to be unbeatable to maintain a sense of realism. :D
