Right ladies and gents, we'll give this another go after the small interest last time around, we're organising a meet for Sunday June 17th at 12.00 at Midway in Portlaoise.

It's exit 17 off the M7. It's impossible to miss but just to hammer it home this is the place.

This is an informal gathering of like minded people that just wish to talk and look at cars and anyone acting the d1ck will be told swiftly where to go. That means no racing, burnouts, drifting - that's not what the meets have ever been like or will ever be like.

What usually happens is we arrive, have a chat, get a munch and chat some more. It's a great way to get to know other posters and to (hopefully) see some nice metal. It doesn't matter if you drive a Mazda or a Skoda , it makes no difference and everyone is welcome. As always, if people cant get there under their own steam and need lifts or anything just mention it and I'm sure something can be sorted out.

Take the M7, come off at the Portlaoise exit, and take the first right. Hard to miss once you come off at the exit.

Could I add something to this?

On the same day there is a classic car show on in Ennis and I know there should be a good crowd there. Would a change of location be a good idea?
I will 99% be in Ennis anyhow as I know a lot more also that will be there.

    Could be an interesting day

You could if you ever actually went to a boards meet. :p
The idea is of the location that it's central and easy for the majority of the country to get to and has always worked well.Nothing else really.

    Got a list going.

It's also Fathers day as well as the Classic Car events.

Is this the right date to do it?

If Ireland get through to the second round of the Euro they would be playing on the 24th, could this Sunday (10th) possibly be a better option?

Its the Sundays that don't get the crowds for some reason. I'd head down, but its a long way to come for a relatively low turn out.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,987 ✭✭✭ottostreet

I'm wrong, the ICCI meet is at the Gandon Hotel, Portlaoise.

I'll probably be heading to that with georgefalls, as there's a runout in the Wicklow Mountains as well!
