How long do you hang Broilers ??

    hi

    just killed 21 Birds today, they are 3 mts & 2 weeks old. have them hanging in cool shed.

    How long do ye hang them in this summer weather ??

    i will be getting more to kill in Nov, so should be colder then, how long would you hang them in winter?? is 3 days too much ??

    I don't hang them at all.
    3 days and they will be rotten in this heat!
    I kill, bleed, pluck and chill chickens.

    Do you not find they are too chewy if not hung, would only change longer in cold weather

    How do you kill them?
    If you leave them to go through rigor after slaughter then freeze or cook them they should be fine.

    I use the old pull & break the neck method.

    How long should it take to go through rigor ??
