Large portions

    Hi Guys,

Recently lost quite a bit of weight and have made significant changes to my diet - eating significantly more veg (brocolli, lettuce, cucumber and beetroot in particular and some carrot shavings, cherry tomatoes, red onion and peppers thrown in for good measure), more fish, less red meat and dramatically less processed foods.

I would have generally had problems with portion sizes and am finding myself slipping into old habits somewhat - particularly after intense exercise sessions.

When particularly hungry or if of the opinion that I deserve a reward, I tend to prepare fairly large salads with fish or chicken (often with no dressing). I find them to be filling and particularly satisfying to eat.

It has been suggested to me that, despite being good food, it is bad to eat large portions like that. Is eating a large plate of food made up of a large fillet of fish or chicken, a quarter of a plate of brocoli and a half plate of cucumber, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, red onion and peppers a bad thing or......?

    Cheers

As long as you not overeating it's fine. So eat until you start to feel full then stop.

Did whoever say that give a reason why they thought it's bad?

It's possible that, even when eating good food, that portions are too big. Calories are still calories.

However, its very unlikely that there's too many calories in the above he salad and veg is so low in cals. Don't worry about it

As said above and by many others on this forum, it's very hard to over eat or gain weight by eating too much veg.
