Get RGB scart cables to give you a slightly better picture at least on a flat screen. You can get component cables for the PS2 but afaik only certain games take advantage of it.

Lads, maybe you guys could point me in the right direction. Since I got my new flat screen all my GameCube and ps2 games look absolutely HIDEOUS on the screen, colour is just way to bright no mater what way I change the settings on the tv. Is there any kind of connection I could get that would make the games look like they are being played on an old tv? Kinda dont have space for a fat television in my room.

What would you recommend I do?

If you have RGB scart coming from the console and going into RGB scart inputs on the tv maybe the SLG Scart might help by adding scanlines.

I got a couple of them for a little project and they are not bad. It depends on the TV etc.

Thanks for those, I'll look into them, but in the mean time, my brother gave me an old small 14" tv so using that in the mean time. Its teeny tiny and I have to sit real close to it. Not ideal, but sure....

I was trying to give away a 21` and 32 inch crt (a sony and a pcl one) for weeks, had a post in the marketplace..eventually gave it to a local charity shop (as they sort me out with games)

Even if you are using a CRT get RGB cables. The difference in image quality is staggering.

Back in my teens I threw out a perfectly good Zipstick controller for the C64 as I no longer owned a computer that could use it and didn't envision that I would buy again.

Kicking myself in the back now as they're £20 before you even pay shipping.

My old fella wants to have a crack off Wonderboy, but he won't touch a gamepad as he never used one before.

Did you have to use the "old fella" line? :D

God I must be really old, not Ciderman-14th century old, but old nonetheless. Wonderboy was one of my favourite C64 games.

Actually have a pair of those Zipsticks in the press somewhere, they need fixing though. Would never chuck them out, awesome they were.

I'm kind of stuck with a 14 inch CRT monitor at the moment and even at that size, the quality of proper RGB cables is amazing.

I threw out one of those Zipstiks when I got my current Commadore Amiga A1200 thinking that it was some cheap knockoff (I hadn't had an amiga before that).

It wasn't working properly and wasn't the same after I put it back together.

I erm... yeah I regret that decision now.

Never has there been such a contrast between a sweet looking Jap console and butt ugly US console, though the Famicom/Nes, Super Famicom/Super Nintendo come close.
That big black bit at the back? There's feck all under there!
Kerb did my AV mod back in the day, still works too!

    He actually does though!

He went through about 3 or 4 joysticks to clear Wonderboy back in the day!

The zipstick was the only stick to survive.

And wtf am I doing posting it in this thread anyway?

Meant to put it in general chat!

The Quickshot Maverick seems to be THE solution to the issue of Commodore 64 games using different joystick poets for player 1!

I wonder if the switch between port 1 and 2 connects / disconnects GND so the circuit closes / opens. Having to switch the port it is a very annoying problem on the system.

That would be very much appreciated kind sir. I'd feel bad just taking it though, I'd gladly swap it for something with you.

I have a bajillion Dreamcast controllers if you ever need a new one.

    Hello stranger!
Seems like you're around forever yet only 299 posts!

    Nice get though!

What was available for that computer, and when in the Atari computer timeline did it pop up?

Also, a went into the CEX in Santry, spent an awesome €5 total on No One Lives Forever for the PS2 and Point Blank for the DS.
I would have spent more too but Mrs Ciderman dragged me out of the shop :(

You've got to hand it to Atari, they give good function key.
