Coconut milk in porridge

I've been advised to replace regular milk with coconut milk to increase my protein intake so I was wondering if the type of coconut milk he's suggesting is the stuff in the cans that you add to thai cooking or if it's something different?

Any advise on where to get it?

    Thanks

I use Kara Coconut milk with my oats in the morning. It comes in 1 liter tetra pack containers, just like regular milk and I buy it in Dunnes Stores (Donaghmeade) or Holland and Barrett (Clare hall).

However Coconut milk would have less protein than regular milk. I know the Kara brand has much less protein. 0.2g/100ml compared to circa 3.2g-3.5g/100ml for cows milk fat.

Ok, thanks for that. I know where to look now.

In Dunnes Donaghmeade it is usually stocked with the Soya Milk and Gluten free goods and not with the normal milk.

I'll probably have to go to H&B because I'm based in the city centre so Donaghmeade isn't an option for me.

I have seen it in Dunnes in the St Stephens Green SC also.

Great, thanks. That's where I do most of my shopping anyway. Thanks Tommy

If you want more protein, add an egg & milk to the oats, liquidise and make pancakes. More here

I add whey to my oats and have chocolate porridge.
