Cheap Running Shoes

I've sold my car so can't get to a swimming pool any longer so have decided to start running while the footpaths aren't taxed yet !!

I have never done any road running before, although I did come trail running/cross country many years ago. Can anyone advise me where to get cheap running shoes?

M&S have a pair for €40 but I don't have that much. Dunnes didn't have anything suitable. I haven't been to Pennys. Also, are second hand shoes sold anywhere?

Please don't tell me to go out and spend €100 on shoes as I don't have it ! €30 max is my limit.

    Thanks in advance.

you will not get a reasonable decent pair of running shoes for €30
You pay for what you get.

I wouldn't recommend buying in M&S or pennys etc. Sport shop - lifestyle, champion you might be lucky to get a reasonable decent pair for about €50/60 depends what sales etc they have.

If you want really cheap, I think lidl have some in at the moment for 20 Euro. Another option is TK max you should be able to get an ok brand fairly cheap in there...

sunnyDub1 - I realise I won't get quality at low prices, but I just don't have €50 or €60 to spend on shoes or anything else.

DublinDilbert & Jareen - I never though of TX Maxx and SportsDirect look like they're great value. Thanks so much.

You could save the 30 euro and do what the Tarahumara indians do: cut sandals out of old tyres :) .

In all seriousness though check out TKmaxx as others have said. There's also nike and asics outlet shops in Kildare Village that could be worth a check if you live out that way.

Amazon have 20% off clothing, if this offer still is working

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/b?ie=UTF8&node=1597067031

free delivery if over £25. There stuff is usually quite cheap anyway due to the postage being included.

Nike's running shoes are almost uniformly garbage these days. Built for fashion and little else.

    Take note.
