Running Domination at the moment whilst Dayz accept our server request.

Domination is interesting, i have set it to Takistan which you all have.

Join pick a position and attack the town the mission picks, btw pilots fly, tank drivers drive etc

Nice one think ive installed the beta correctly but cant find the server in the server list even filtering with boards. Is it only if youve installed the beta correctly that you can see the server?

Bit strange still not having any luck finding it

Ill leave it till the morning anyhow when dayz is setup and check again and see if anyone else is having the same trouble.

Are you allowed a password on a DayZ server? Would be cool if you can.
Also you say you need the beta, did they release a new update for DayZ? I think i just have the Alpha at the moment.

Nope not allowed password server, I have atm just to ensure its us playing.

The Beta is the ARMA II Client Beta, not a beta for DayZ.

Just to clarify.

DayZ is still in alpha.

I'd have to agree with Dreamers there.


There are loads of people buying Arma II right now solely to play the DayZ mod.

A lot who never even played Arma before.

So many in fact, that it put Arma II Combined Operations into the Top Sellers list in Steam!

Just checked it again, and its only second to all the Assassins Creed games / DLC.

Impressive what 1 mod can do!

Same here, only filter I put in was boards but can't see it either.

I seen it with just dayz as the filter then selecting the the best ping. It was top of the list with about 30ms ping.

Its passworded so ensure you have that as SHOW in your filter.

Up now with takistan on it, doesnt show on gametracker or arma2swec....will go figure that out

Found out what was stopping me from finding the server if its any help to anyone else doing the same mistake. Was putting boards into the mission field in the filter instead of the host filter. :rolleyes:

All sorted now be on later tonight for few games

Shall we vote for server settings?

I don't mind 3RD person view and crosshairs (prefer no crosshair) but I'm definately for names to be off - partially because it gives away your position too easily and partially because it will keep the misstrust alive in game and tension up (incase a boardie feels like banditing it up).

Names have to be off imo. Way to easy to find someone that's trying to hide when they are on. I'm actually partial to 3rd person view however, but i'm not that bothered if it's on or off.

Saw about 6 servers with passwords on them today. So i dont think the devs are doing anything about servers with passwords.
Dont mind to much about names being off but was a bit stupid earlier when i was in a group of 3 and was unable to tell which of my team mates was which.

It's supposed to be a realistic zombie apocalypse simulator, you're asking for crosshairs off and names off but third person on? It should only be first person perspective if you're aiming for realism.

Don't know about anyone else but I'm aiming for fun. Anything involving zombies is never going to be realistic to me. :pac:

Names off preferably for me, don't mind crosshairs and in two minds about third person. It can be good when you need to scope out an area without giving away your position (aka proning and overlooking a widearea if you are up high) but it also gives others the same advantage. So either way if it 3rd person stays on or off it won't bother me

Posting this here as well as the main forum :

"Guys would suggest that you adjust the time so that it doesnt turn night till say around 00:00 or so rather than earlier in the evening.

If guys are out at work etc they will never get to play the game during the daytime. This is allowed by the mod devs, night time can be anytime on your server, but you must have night time.

Would seem alot of players agree. Not against the night time play, but feel that its more fun during the day. "

It's definitely a good idea. As fun as night can be, it can also be a pain in the ass and it's much easier playing when it's light. Set it to 4-5 hours back and it should be fine.

if u could start out with a torch or a road side flair, night time would be fine but to spawn in the middle of nowhere, pitch dark, what you suppose to do?

And if you dig a little deeper, Rocket says it's perfectly fine to set the time at say, GMT-5, as long as you keep it that way. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=4014&pid=41132#pid41132

It's servers trying to make it permaday that are the problem because it messes up the loot/zombie respawn scripting (as he says 2 posts above the one I linked).

Umm back again, server itself is fine but Arma is crashing, although I see people in another thread having issue son several servers so could be master server issue is the cause.
