    Hi,
Just looking for tips to help me commit to dieting and eating healthy.
What is the best substitute for bread? I know salads is good, but they can become boring...or non satisfying/filling as bread.
    Thanks in advance

lots of water and adding tasty "good enough" fats, and trying new flavourings.. and mentally changing, reprograming everything and everyway you think about food as opposed to just changing the food cold turkey and feeling deprived, bored, anxious or unhappy about what youre eating all the time.

I focused on the non junk foods that I liked and slowly switched and changed things over time a year down the road I'm still trying to control the bread thing, everything is wholegrain except when I eat out, everything is one or two half servings of bread a day so that could be 1 small brown roll, a couple of rye crackers with extra light phili (doesnt have extra sugar), half wrap/2 weight watcher slices/1 normal slice but you still gotta fill up on food I seem to eat a lot of cheese and fruit, I try to eat a combination or two or three small portions with fat protein and a little bit of carbs at lunch (eggs, meat, quorn, beans broc) and fruits bananas are so filling, at least I got over my love for potatoes and prefer the taste and texture of green veg now, people say theyre boring but once youre pallete changes things taste better, chips and cakes taste a bit blah to me now.

Started a low carb, high protein diet recently...i think the best thing is to cut down, not cut out completely!!!...last monday for example i had a bowl of porridge,a banana, a chicken salad, an omlette with 2 slices of whole grain toast, a yoghurt and an orange!! the 2 slices of bread is my satisfaction..

for example, you can have 1 small scoop of mash as opposed to 3!!! From last monday to last wed i lost 2.25lbs!!!! just by cutting down on carbs and exercise! good luck.

That's not a low carb diet, nor is it particularly high protein

    porridge
    banana
    toast
    yogurt
    orange

none of this is remotely low carb

Since i had to give up all breads eventually i will post here my way of doing it.
I started eating biona bread(due to the ingredients), which mostly tastes good with eggs on top(i also used spinach).
After a month or two i started phasing out the bread as i got used to eating eggs so much more and went on to eat eggs cooked in several ways put with sinach or other veg.
    Or made omlettes aswell.
I also snacked on plain yogurt and nuts if i got hungry in between.
This helped me forget about bread after a while and now its not ussually an issue.
Il make burgers now and wrap them with iceberg lettuce which is really tasty.
You will get used to it once your mind has been trained.

You could also try replace bread with a more complex carb like brown rice(cooked in spices),if your doing salads and need the filler.
Personally i try fill up on meat and then whenever i eat anything that needs to be broken down like that,i ussualy try get alot of veg down me aswell for fiber.

IMO just cut out all carbs, eat hight protein foods, and healthy fats - it can be hard but worth it.
Salads are only boring if you make them boring, try mixing them up adding things you wouldn't usually add, add plenty of chicken, fish etc to it and it will become more filling.
Replace carbs with healthy fats like nuts, fish etc.
Eggs are great for breakfast, lunch and snacking.

You should take a read through some of the stickys, really good advice and tips on them.

Compared to what I ate in the past..i've cut down on carbs immemsely!! I mainly eat carbs on days i'm doing high intensity training as my personal trainer has advised me to do so for more energy!!!...i'm not a fish eater so chicken and eggs is where i mainly get my protein on a daily basis!!!
