    Hi all
Just looking for a bit of advice on what I could buy to do some workouts at home. I'm especially interested in the dumbells. What sort of weights would be good for a woman looking to lose weight? And would it be worth my while buying an ab-cradle type thing? I hate doing regular sit-ups. Is there any point actually trying to tone my stomach until I lose the fat on top of it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

This is much better than dumbbells: http://i.imgur.com/reSU0.jpg :)
You can start with push-ups, pull-ups, squats, leg raises. A good program to follow http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056185716 - starts very easy and has nice progression steps

    no

Some core exercises are always good even if you can't see abs, but it should not be your main focus. They won't make you lose fat covering them.

Meijin answered your questions, but one thing I will second him on is the ab-cradle, they're just not worth the money. Crunches and/or planks done properly (and diet of course) are better than any machine.
