Hi, a quick question to those of you who use garlic a lot...

I usually buy garlic gloves and chop them up, which is a painful process when cooking. When i was buying chili flakes today, i noticed they had small jars of minced garlic too... is it the same thing or should i stick to the garlic gloves, thanks in advance...

007, The clove is better. I usually chop the cloves very finely add a little olive oil and put into a little jar and keep in the fridge, it lasts for months, wearing disposable gloves helps.

If you use ginger, which is great in lots of dishes especially stir-frys, peel it then wrap in clingfilm and keep in freezer, you can grate from frozen, just remove clingfilm. Hope this helps.

    I use a serrated knife :D
Slice at each end at the top and press without cutting the bottom, while pulling the clove away. Then flip the clove and repeat.

Nearly took my finger off today trying to cut an onion with a non serrated knife! serrated all the way for me lol
