I’d Like to Meet This Man [season 1 - 2]
Arino visits well-known game creators and producers at their workplace to discuss their pasts and possible futures. Luminaries such as Yu Suzuki and Hideo Kojima have chatted with Arino, as well as creators from lesser-known games (outside Japan) such as Derby Stallion and Sakura Taisen.

Operation Moshi-Moshi! [season 3]
The game here was VAP’s Ganso Saiyuki: Super Monkey Daibouken — no doubt one of the worst Famicom games ever. The "Moshi-Moshi" part comes from the fact that Arino had a telephone next to the TV and would call viewers who sent in their numbers.

Urawaza Jet Stream [season 4]
Arino steps into a dimly lit sound booth, radio-DJ style, and reads fond recollections of favorite games. The segments end with a "request" for a well-known secret/cheat (urawaza) from the game, followed by footage of the trick.

The Ace of My Hardware Won’t Appear [season 5]
A play-on-words of an old Japanese pop song "Heart no Ace ga Detekonai." In this segment, Arino samples failed game systems throughout Japanese history.

The Romance Never Ends [season 6]
A very tongue-in-cheek segment where Arino searches out salacious girly scenes in various Famicom games. Again, the title is taken from (and uses) the pop song of the same name.

Game & Watch, I Can’t Leave You Alone [season 7]

The Game Center CX Game-itization Project [season 7, 8]
This mini-documentary of sorts follows Arino as he meets and talks with various staff members from Bandai Namco Games and others who are working on the official GCCX video game.

The Return of Operation Moshi-Moshi [season 8]

The Xevious Observation Diary [season 8]
This tiny segment plays like a silent movie and begins with Arino putting in an invincibility code for Xevious, then fastening a clip onto the controller and leaving it there for days and days, simply to see what happens

A Waste of Colour [season 12]
Kibe presents him with a bag full of Game Boy games. Arino chooses three, gives them a try, then decides which one he likes best to base a goofy picture on.

Crash Videos MAX [season 13]
Inoko MAX invites Arino into his apartment to watch a series of videos of gruesome accidents… in video games, of course.

To Catch A Copy [season 14]
The show’s female announcer, Ms. Takeda, reads a game’s catch copy (ad tagline), and the three men pick what game they think it is, and why, with the goal being to see who simply gets the most right.

Retro Read-Aloud [season 15]
Arino and fill-in announcer Ms. Nishiyama do dramatic readings of key scenes from various games, such as the melodramatic Fire Emblem or adventures like Famicom Detective Club.

Project CX: Peripherals [season 15]
Ostensibly a parody of the Japanese documentary show "Project X," Project CX is really just an excuse to get Arino to play with some beloved Famicom accessories and their associated games.

I keep talking about this show and nobody listens to me! It's far and away the best TV show ever made about videogames and so entertaining. Thanks for putting it up Sera!

Also for anyone thinking of going to Japan the show has segments during the challenges showing all the hidden retro videogame stores and arcades around Tokyo.

Watching the ghosts and goblins one now, and there's an interview with the Sega project leader for Hang On, Virtua Fighter and many other games,
and a feature on the SG-1000, showing some of the earliest games for that console!

It's great to get an inside view on the history from the land of the rising sun.

This show is almost as awesome as Halo and Legend of Dragoon combined. Everyone knows that's a lot of awesome. I see Edge gave it six out of ten, which is great.

Don't just check out the games you like, some of the best episodes are the ones with the crappy games or really obscure ones. The Tokimeki Memorial, adventure island and Ultraman episodes for example are absolute classics.

Kid Kool was a great episode, Arino said it's harder than Adventure Island! Plus the TamaGe in the old sweet shop was great. SOS's episode is another favourite, would love to give it a go, it's really interesting.
Other episodes I really enjoyed are Dragon Buster, Legacy of the Wizard, Golgo 13, ActRaiser and Mario 64 < the last 2 were the only ones I knew

Id like to see the Gradius episode. Zombie Nation was good though. I wish he would do Recca or, of course.......... DARIUS!!!!!!

I put the phone down and went into a meeting.
At some point in the meeting I awakened the phone to check the time.
At this moment I saw the above pictures and started laughing....
Unfortunately it was not that kind of meeting, strange looks abounded

This was meant to be one of a set, but I couldn't find the right sprite fonts to make the rest of what I had in mind. :mad:



I may consider, ahem, learning more about ripping sprites from emulators to amend this in future.

Because I'd never infringe or illegally distribute the IP of a company, that would be illegal. And bold. Sir. As would using emulators to play such things. :rolleyes:

Apologies to anyone want to see "Blaze" drop kicking Shiva wearing a Facebook costume or the shooped Streets of R.A.G.E. title screen, it all looked like a blurry oversaturated RF cabled mess.

Discotek Media has announced a release date for the Retro Game Master Game Center CX DVD. September 18th 2012!

All 12 of the Kotaku episodes have been licensed by Discotek Media for a DVD release. Not only that, but they will include the Japanese audio track along with a totally new translation. Some episodes that were announced for the DVD are Mighty Bomb Jack Live, Ninja Gaiden II, and Shiren the Wanderer

I watched the SMB Special today (which im playing on the SFC at the moment.
Isn't so much cooler to call it the SFC? Almost feel like a hipster each time I say it!)

There was a nice featurette on the Game & Watch towards the end,

but the SMB gameplay was cut shorter than I was hoping for!
