DayZ Zombie Mod for Arma 2

Here's the deal. The server issues discussion stops now. No more talk about it after this post. No posts saying, I know the moderator said but I want to get the last word in. Server issues are not what this forum is for and should be taken to the DayZ forums, that's what it's for. The boards.ie server is not associated with boards.ie. The Games forum is busy enough that there won't be two threads catering to the game.

I don't want to ban people but I'd rather not have to close this forum. Please keep discussion to about the game after this post or I'll be forced to hand out infractions. Talk about your exploits on the server all you like but if you have issues with how it is run this isn't the place to do it.

Who was in Pogorevka earlier? Sounded like either a big firefight or a last stand against zombies.

Either way, I kept my distance. Enjoying the lack of storms/constant raining.

I shot somebody in stary, killed another, took lots of fire while hiding behind 2 tree trunks, was down to 1.5k blood, starving and needed water...
Managed to make it to the field just north of the church and started passing out, got up again and heard a bullet impact very close to me, ran for the treeline, just made it before passing out a few more times. Rested there for a bit, then heard a mighty rattle of bullets being discharged to my left.
Some anti boards died, some other group died, then I pass out again.
Then I see another group heading towards the dead bodies...I shuffle to the treeline,manage to pop vti,shuffle back some more then got smoked!

I honestly don't know how I didn't die alot sooner...

Back to the coast, again...this time I think I'll take my m240 saw to the party lol

Yeah, it was me you shot in Starry. Brought me down to 3k blood and broke my legs, was lucky to survive

So I was driving around tonight in mah new truck and we came across a camp North East of Nadezhdino, three tents surrounded by sand bags, with some rotor blades in. So we took what we needed and as punishment for exploiting the sandbag dupe bug I decided to squish the tents under mah big ol' off-road wheels. FYI if the owner reads this, surrounding your camp with sandbags just makes it easier to spot

I had my most successful run yet, Got armed to the teeth killed dozens of zombies and really got to grips with sneaking.

It takes a while to get used to , Especially since I have never played an arma title before, but the learning curve is worth getting around and its starting to pay off now. I am actually having fun instead of being confused and running away all the time

I managed to investigate several villages, the medical camp and the airfield without alarming the zombies too much. The Hatchet really helps dispatch the odd zombie that gets to close.

Alas, while trying to find where a dead body was (I heard flies) , I ended up clambering over a wall into a barbed wire fence, which promptly ended my session.

Try again tomorrow evening!

I hear the sound of flies a lot with no dead bodies to be found. It might be bugged.

Yeah right now flies stay on bodies for quite some time after the bodies and loot has despawned.

• Reporting DCers
• General Dayz Bitching and Moaning
• Boards vs Anit-Boards Scores (For the Childern)
• People who hate the server and how its run, but still play on the server all the time, and seem to spend more ****ing time on boards complaining about the server than actually playing on it
• Ban Appeals
• Dayz Tips
• Probably another thread for bitching about the server-
• A thread saying thanks to the lads who do a class job running it.

Good craic for the lil while I played last night. Theres a Tractor in Staroye btw. By the petrol station. Needs engine parts and fuel. Been there for over a day at this stage.

Im "Boards" - and i thought I read something similar to it aswell. not 100% though. Not thrawling through 102 pages to find it though lol...

These topics are about the "boards"" server rather than the game itself and since the server isn't related to boards.ie in any official way a forum for discussions such as you have listed above would never be allowed by the admins. As a mod already told us earlier this thread is for discussions about the game in general and any server specific chat about issues on the server or how the server is run needs to be taken to the DayZ forums.... If server issues can be kept out of this thread I really don't see the need for a separate DayZ forum on this website.


It seems to me that this game has the potential for aggressive expansion. Perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea for Villian and co to set up their own little online forum for chat about the server. Maybe a few months down the line there would be a market for 2 DayZ servers and before long they could have their own little DayZ community going. Set up PvPs between different clans, set out the server rules clearly and make all the admins known so everyone knows what the story is, it would cut out a lot of this childish bickering about people disconnecting. Just a suggestion.... Mods please don't ban me for going off topic!

Aww, I've pilfered that campsite's gear 3 times now. You're right about the sandbags though, they practically sparkled in the sun when I found it the first time. And the razor wire just made me more determined to fleece the place. Ah well, there's always new campsites.

What I wrote was intended as a joke to poke fun at the whole situation. And I wrote it before i saw before Retros post...(Sorry Retro)

And about not needing a section for Dayz on this site, if you say that, why not say it about every other game that has its own subsection? ( COD, Battlefield, Halo, WOW, WOT, SWTOR, Minecraft...)

Anyone pick up that tractor in Staroye? I swear i'm not watching it with a DMR...

So I just got killed by some suicidal idiot on the boards server near the supermarket in cherno.... The area was infested with zombies so I was crawling so they wouldn't see me. This guy appears running behind me and sprays me with his ak without saying a word! Zombies come running from all directions, I see him running towards the supermarket followed by zombies so I shoot at him but my vision was all blury so I don't know if I hit him, I hope I did, f*cking dickhead. Either way id say he is certainly dead, too many zombies. I spent an hour and a half collecting supplies so I could head north and all I needed was some food from the supermarket then this moron appears out of nowhere and ****s it all up. :mad:

Can't be arsed starting AGAIN. Its not worth the effort any more.

Every minute you spend in Cherno is a minute where a kamikaze-style player is likely to kill you. An hour and a half in there isn't bad going.

I'm not starting a moaning session, not saying that you are trying to either. But I have noticed over the course of last night, people are going mad on the player hunting. I've been getting chased and killed by players, after spawning with no gear. People with hatchets and with no regard for aggro'ing Z's. The mindset seems to be "as long as I can kill that guy, it doesn't matter if the Z's get me".

Having said that, I am still gonna be on playing tonight. But, I am starting to get more disappointed about being killed by a randomer with hatchet 2 minutes after I respawn, than by the bandit sniper in Stary after 5 hours and collecting a tonne of gear.

And this seems to be across a multitude of servers.

I try spend as little as possible time in Cherno or Elektro. It's not worth it. If I've got F all gear and have only spawned, I'll make a quick run through a couple of spots, usually the medical spawns, and leg it asap.

Speaking of cherno that reminds me. Yesterday I was on some german server upstairs in a house in cherno. Through the scope of my DMR I was watching a fellow sniper on top of a factory chimney. Every time he fired a few shots about 10 zombies started pegging it up the ladder to get him so he would disconnect. Then the zombies zombies climb back down, he reconnects fires another shot or two and up come the zombies again so he disconnects again! I watched him do this for about 15 minutes until I got bored and shot him dead

i think they had a cheat as there were 0 Zeds on the server, anyway,
now imagine you could get 2 chopperZ

these are the type of videos that make me want to play this game,

I don't normally mind getting killed, even if I have collected lots of gear. But I hadn't even seen this guy, I was no threat to him whatsoever and yet he sacrifices himself just to kill me for absolutely no reason! That's why it was so infuriating.

i think i met him in the supermarket, he killed me and didn't take any of my gear including my alice full of beans...
if anyone is looking for some decent loot i left all my gear on the highest point in cherno, as i am off on holidays in a few days and won't be back for a few weeks..
there is an ak load of different ammo etc...feel free to take it..and no i am not waiting in the bush to kill you...
