I'll second that. I have cast iron ones but I recently got the competition ones from D8fitness and they are much better. If you can see yourself getting into them then I'd spend the extra few quid.

Kettlebells are torture but strangely addictive.

€400+ for a full set! Jesus I missed a trick not setting up selling these things when I first heard about them. Must keep my eyes peeled for the next big thing.

Can someone justify them to me other than if you're a PT and you say you have them you'll probably get more clients? I've tried them and really they just seem like another glute/ham exercises. What exactly is the point?

I'd just get one cast iron one to start. Competition bells are more for girevoy (really high reps of snatch, long cycle and jerk).

I'd also second d8fitness, top notch.

Kettlebell sport is more challenging than anything I've ever done, extremely rewarding and I've gotten leaner than I've really ever been before.

They're more versatile than a dumbbell of similar weight.

3/4 KBs of differing weights and you've got a great set of tools that a ton of people can get a great core, leg, push and pull workout out of.

I am planning to invest in kettlebells and was looking for advice as to which weight and how many to get (money is no object). I am 6ft 13 stone and have been weightlifting for the last year. My main goal now would be to keep the strength I have gained and lose some body fat and I feel kettlebells would be a good supplement to the weights I have at home

I did that class. It's not a 3.5 hour workout. There is a lot of time between exercises spent explaining. You will be sore the next day though

If money is no object, I'd go for:

    1 x 12kg
    1 x 16kg
    1 x 20kg
    1 x 24kg
    1 x 28kg
    1 x 32kg

    As a starting point.
The 12 could be used for pressing, snatching & C&Jing initially and the 16/20 could be used for swings & squats til you get better at them.
