hi guys, had an off while mountain biking yesterday and the bike landed pretty hard down on my hand/wrist, its badly swollen and grazed but i have full movement of my wrist and fingers with little to no pain, my forearm is a little sore to touch as well, the swelling has me paranoid but i dont think ive broken anything, are there any tell tale sings to look out for? (only broken my nose before so ive no real reference)

    From the Stickied charter.
No Questions about Treatment of Injuries/ Requesting Medical Advice
As a whole boards.ie does not allow medical discussion and Fitness will be no different. Do not post threads about injuries or when you think you might be injured looking for advice. If you are injured go to a qualified medical professional for help, not the internet. Injuries can be incredibly difficult to diagnose, even when the person you are seeking help from is in the same room as you.

The only time we will allow the discussion of any injuries and how to overcome them is when the OP CLEARLY states in their first post that they have been to a professional, received advice and treatment and are looking for help with a rehab/prehab exercise.

If you're in any doubt please see your GP.

nope as i dont have the money, im only looking for some indications of what a broken wrist/arm would look feel like to compare it to my own, i dont have the time at the moment to get an xray, my ae would take 5-6 hours to do it and i dont have that much free time

    Sounds very familiar...
Broke the scaphoid bone in my left wrist play gaa years ago. Thought it was 'only sprained'. After 5 months had an op which involved getting bone removed from my hip and screwed into the hole in me hand.
My advice - go get x-ray asap make time and dont take the first answer they give you if you feel it aint right. I had 12 x-rays before the break was spotted.

If after a week from incident you cant do push ups or lift a kettle full of water (kettle with handle on side as opposed to on top) you in trouble me thinks...

Mods: Delete if needed. Posted to inform as to what happens if suspected injuries not looked after.
