Looks like Cahill and BAE will almost certainly be out. Evans and Simpson are doubts but with United and Newcastle both playing huge games I'm sure they'll be doing everything they can to get fit for the game.

I'll probably be swapping Cahill out using my FT. If Blackburn don't win tonight they'll be relegated and I can't see them putting up much of a fight away at Chelsea if this is the case, so I might double up on Chelsea defenders and do a straight swap on Cahill > Bosingwa. My season could easily rest on Chelsea keeping a clean sheet!

Koscielny is another option in the same price bracket, but I'd be doubling up on Arsenal defenders away at West Brom, and after their showing against Norwich I'm not too confident of an Arsenal CS. My final option is Hibbert, purely because my opponent has him and it lessen the blow if he does well. We already have numerous similar players, and I think it might come down to who performs better between Cisse + Tevez (me) or Rooney + Jelavic (him).

As much as Tevez has been a flop for me I can see City destroying QPR in the last game. How I wish I had Aguero, he's clearly playing ahead of Tevez and is much more likely to play the full 90. I'm not even 100% Tevez will start...

Just to add to this for anyone that has Rio Ferdinand, he has a groin injury but is still likely to play next week.

I'm in Manchester from Saturday so will be doing my transfer Friday evening.

I'll post any last minute team news I hear on the ground round Old Trafford/ Etihad!

    roryc,

what about Clichy? Home to QPR and he does go forward enough to grab you the odd assist. He's also been playing very well recently (not that it is relevant for FF but it adds some "bonus" to his whole current picture).

Personnaly, I may regret for a long time not having done Simpson -> Walker / Kompany -> Clichy last week for my WC. Although Cisse wondergoal secured me the weekly prize last week, having Kompany laughing loudly at me on the first spot of my bench was painfull enough and this week, I'm afraid I'll be a couple of points short off a second weekly prize in a row (yah you get used to winning :D) and Clichy assist and probable BP would have suited me very well :D.

Coming back to next week, I feel the need of getting a City attacker. Just need to choose the best one. And also midfielder or forward or both for a 4 pt hit ? Aguero seems a good candidfate but I can only afford him through a 4 pt hit or for VP. Can Yaya Toure reproduce such a game? Maybe Silva?

Done my transfer for final gameweek. Dont think Man U will be up for it and can see MoN rotating squad.

    Long out Dong in

I'd actually planned on bringing in Clichy a while back instead of Kompany but didn't get many people agreeing so decided against it. Wish I'd stuck to it instead of getting in Richards who I ended up subbing out a few weeks later anyway.

Definitely one I'd consider though. I might need to move fast too, Cahill will most likely go down tonight as he's 100% confirmed out for the QPR game, and I can only afford Koscielny if I move tonight. I can probably wait to decide on Bosingwa or Clichy.

I think Chelsea are more likely to keep a CS if Blackburn don't win tonight. QPR will be going all out attack either way, and this isn't something City are used to dealing with.

Who are people thinking are the big points scoring must haves for the final week then?

Ive already got Moses, have just transfered Caulker out For Kompany but reckon ill take a 4 point hit to bring in someone who's likely to score a few goals!

Have Cisse, Tevez and Jelavic up front but might swap Tevez for Aguero?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

I would have done this is I didnt think I could use my FT better elsewhere. To take a 4 point hit to swap Tevez for Aguero is not a +EV move. You are basically giving Tevez a 1 goal headstart on Aguero, meaning Aguero needs to score 1 goal more than Tevez just to break even. If Aguero scores 2 then great stuff, but there's more chance of it going wrong than right.

Then again its the last game of the season, go nuts!

A lot still depends on how the remaining games of GW37 go imo.

If Blackburn lose then they have nothing to play for away to Chelsea, who could be looking to turn it on in front of their home fans ahead of the CL final...Torres could be a good gamble

Also Wigan would then be safe and against Wigan at home in the last game could go nuts. Moses seems a good option

If Man City score early against QPR and settle any nerves they may have then they could easily bang in 5 or 6. Silva and Augero seem the best bets here.

Spurs aiming for a CL spot at home against nothing to play for Fulham. Adebeyor and VdV seem the best options here, but you cant rule out Bale either

Cant see Utd players scoring big tbh. Other factors to watch out for are teams wanting to put in a big performance for their final home game of the season, especially if the opponents have nothing to play for themselves. Norwich and Swansea fit the bill here and at a stretch Everton (CL place more than likely beyond Newcastle now)

One thing that the final day of the season has shown in recent in years is that 1 or 2 players usually end up with a bucketload of points, spotting them (and captaining) is key to a strong finish.

Cheers for the good feedback! I reckon my team so far isnt too shabby then...

    Vorm
    Kompany, Gibbs, Hibbert
Moses, Dempsey, Siggy, VDV, Ben Arfa (Need to choose 4, thinking of benching BArfa).
    Cisse, Tevez, Jelavic

will either swap Vorm for Hart or one of my forwards... opinions?

Thinking of swapping Rooney for Aguero

There's going to be one or two nuts scores this week

    Unfortunately, they're hard to predict!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,255 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

A good few people are going to have a long week if they're running different possibilities through their heads already!

It's the last day of the season. Anything could happen. I've seen Blackburn draw 4-4 with Reading and beat Spurs 4-0 in the past before!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,462 ✭✭✭✭WoollyRedHat

Is RVP worth the captain against WBA away? Last game under Hodgson, but very important for Arsenal to secure third... what do people think?

    I'm otherwise considering VDV again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 667 ✭✭✭DazzlerIE

Torres is def worth a punt

all depends on trying to figure out what team Chelsea will put out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 667 ✭✭✭DazzlerIE

OK, with nothing to play for in the final game of the season but final placing, I've brought in a real winner

    Dempsey and Rooney out

    Lampard and Aguero in :)

    Let's do it Frank

Quite a move Darren, tempted to do the same myself.

Tho i have a back 5 of Richards, Caulker, Verm, Cahill and Kaboul so might change up there instead of Lamps.

Cisse or Jelavic to Aguero is my tough option now.. hard call!

I'd change Cisse because Jelly is at home and Everton are tough opposition at Goodison.

I'm 40 points behind the leader in my money league!! Disgusted - I was ahead until freckin Cisse decided to go and screw up my whole season and of course Dempsey decided to chip in as well.

I've persisted with Bale as Spurs had an easy run in - again the wrong option!

I'm considering dropping Bale for Silva?

No I shipped Sessegnon for Yaya yesterday and I'm considering either RVP to Torres (C) or VDV to Mata (C) for a 4 point hit need to make up 30 points in private league not confident just hopeful

people are very confident torres will start, last match before CL, some rumours early in the season it might be his last at the club, and final home game, does everybody think it's a cert drogba won't start?

QPR only need a point. They'll surely throw everyone behind the ball. While I expect City to win it could be a low scoring game if they are up against a blanket defense.

I disagree. QPR will not be able to defend for 90 minutes. Hughes knows he needs to score, and probably score first to get anything from the game.

I don't know if I should take a four point hit to make a transfer but happy enough atm

Vorm in nets, Lescott ( who I am not confident of a clean sheet), Verm ( Who I fancy to get an assist), and J Evans ( Hibbert on standby),

Then I have Valencia, who I have already used a a FT for the week, combined with VDV, Bale and Sigurdsson

Up front, RVP, Cisse, and Jelavic

Is there any need for a 4 point hit, or should the team I'm fielding be worth the risk? I'm then thinking of captaining either VDV. If RVP is quiet, it's over, but if not I have a good chance... I have figured out that my leader can't make the transfer for him without making a downgrade of a defender ( which he actually might want to do, seeing as he has only two fieldable dfenders) but more importantly, he'd have to rid Aguero for him... which I can't see anyone wanting to do this week and considering that Aguero looks more and more dangerous every week ( should of scored more against Newscastle.

was going to get mata in, but looking at last nights result chelsea now cannot finish in top 4, so surely mata will be rested for the CL final

MY motto is always to avoid points hits where possible. The only player I'd change in your team is Cisse or Jelavic. But, then again, I guarantee you that if you change Jelly, he'll score and, if you change Cisse, he'll score - its the unwritten rule of this game!

It's the last day of the season too so the game could easily end 4-4 with both scoring hat tricks!

I'd leave your team as it is and keep your 4 points. Most people, including me, expected City to run riot against Wolves a couple of weeks ago. They scored 2 goals. As for Aguero, all season he looks dangerous each week but, since his initial purple patch, he hasn't done all that much. I'd consider him for transfer alright but not a transfer where you'll be taking a 4 point hit.

Did Jelavic - Aguero and Richards - Clichy (4 point hit)

    team for final gw

    Vorm
    Clichy, Vermaelen, Kaboul
    Valencia, Bale, Pienaar, Dempsey
    Aguero(c), Cisse, RVP

Subs : Krul, Siggy, Caulker, Cahill

1 point behind in my ML, really need aguero to come up trumps!

Dont do Demps to Ramires, you are banking on Ramires to score AT LEAST 4 points more than Dempsey. Really wouldn't recommend this.

Same with Cisse to Aguero, either could outscore the other and taking a 4 point hit to do this is definitely not a solid move.

If you have 1 free transfer, get Clichy or Kosciely in defence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,264 ✭✭✭✭manual_man

Couldn't really give a t*ss at this stage. Can't wait for it to be all over. Made 4 transfers

Albrighton Sagna (both injured) RVP Hibbert out
    Torres Terry Ivanovic Maloney in

Please let it all be over. PLEASE, please just let it all be over

    Torres captain...

great food for thought there cheers ,still feel Aguero as captain is a must ,wrong captain choice will be the difference this week

I think that the last week is the week that you should take a ridiculous punt and see what happens. I have either Sess or Siggy to choose from this week and I don't fancy either too much (Siggy might score though). So I'm gonna use the 7.8 or 9.8 million to replace one of them for someone extremely inconsistent but also someone that might pull an odd goal or two out of the bag.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 667 ✭✭✭DazzlerIE

Completely agree with the ridiculous last week punt

    I went for Lampard

Think he'll def start, and with no league pressure on them they'll prob do well

Also will Yaya be worth a thought?

I ditched Jelavic for Aguero. It basically boils down to who you think will with the Everton v Newcastle game and I think Newcastle.

Yaya might be worth a shout although be wary that he was playing much further back until De Jong came on in the second half. Silva would be my choice if you can afford him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 487 ✭✭Juxtapose

Went for Jelavic myself for Aguero.

He hasnt been great in the past 2 games, maybe a bit unlucky, but apart from goals his game doesnt offer that much. Cisse on the other hand is a constant threat and i feel he will end the season on a bang (as will Newcastle)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 343 ✭✭RB100

Just seen that I can't afford Aguero unless I take a 4 point hit. prob not worth it.

I really hope Rooney and Jelavic have quiet games.

Actually, to be honest I hope Jelavic breaks a leg... Ireland could do without facing him in the Summer.

Need a bit of advice for the last GW. One money league wrapped up with a +60 lead but have a slender 24 point lead in the big paying league.

    Team at the moment:
    Begovic
    Sagna - JEvans - Taiwo - Kelly
    Dempsey - Pienaar - Valencia - Bale
    Jellyfish - RVP - Cisse
Subs: Vorm - Siggy - Taiwo - Simpson

Have one FT and 6m in the bank. The idea is to get Kompany in for Sagna which will give me Citeh cover and clear an injury concern. Don't want to gamble of points hits paying off for me. So is Kompany a good move or is there a better one?

Kompany sounds good. Evans is still injured too, though I wouldn't waste 4 points getting rid of him though. You have Taiwo in twice btw

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,691 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

24 points is a decent enough lead for 1 gw tbh. How many of the same players do u and your rival have? The more the better, for u it should be about having as many blockers as possible now and ideally the same capt as him forvthe last gw. Keep an eye on how many transfers he makes too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 378 ✭✭John83

I was hoping Evans would be back in contention this weekend. Worst case is Taiwo (one of them :)) plays and picks up a point.

He's made 1 transfer so far this week. We have in common are RVP, Dempsey, Valencia, Evans and Simpson in common. I'm assuming his transfer was to bulk his defense with Simpson being out. The reason I'm nervous of the 24 points is that he has the options of captaining Rooney and Ade. If Rooney has a big weekend he could have 20 points on me easy.
