Hey, on the mobile app here so maybe thats why but I can't find a forum for discussions about instruments. I was looking for tips on lowering the action on on my stingray5 bass. I raised the action on it because I love having the control in my right hand but I'm starting to miss the ease of running around the neck like I got from my deluxe jazz bass! I think a forum for discussion of equipment and equalisation settings would be good. Also to discuss techniques for being on stage. A forum for musicians and bands I suppose!

    Moved to Instruments

If you've managed to raise the action yourself couldn't you just do the opposite to lower it again?

I've changed the curve of the neck by loosening the truss rod and also raised the saddles, there's almost infinite combinations of saddle heights to truss rod tightness, just looking for tips on different peoples techniques for getting a nice action. Lots of info out there for fenders but none on the musicman.

A "nice" action is a personal thing, like the type of strings preferred. My advice is to experiment and adjust accordingly if you are not happy.

Here is a set up link :

You could ring around a few shops to see if they have a string action gauge. Or you could get one on ebay.

BTW it is possible to discuss all things to do with all instruments here. People are very helpful. You only have to start a thread.

You may not have checked out this Sticky. Scroll about half way down and it give links to guitar set up. I think my link is better though. ;)
