Losing cameras when out!

Does anyone else have this problem? I can't trust myself to bring out a camera with me because I'm constantly losing them when I'm out  Left one on a table and it got swipped, left one in a taxi but luckily got it back. I'd love to be able to bring it out with me. It's when I'm under the influence I keep losing them of course lol. Has someone come up with a good way of not losing them when they are out? Somehow, I've never lost my phone just the camera.

First thing is to print out a sheet of paper with your contact details on it in really big letters without being too identifying (eg, If found, please call A. Name on 087 1234567)

Next, take a photo of that, and make sure it's the first picture on the camera, and leave it there.

If someone finds a digital camera, the first thing they usually do (if there's charge) is to look through the pictures. Now they have some way of contacting you, rather than staring at everyone on the street in the hopes someone looks familiar.

I have to say I don't understand the obsession with taking a million pics on a nightout, in clubs or whatever and uploading them onto facebook - dunno if you do that but your mention of cameras on a night out reminded me of my friends who do as I describe...

I used to lose my MP3 player all the time, what you need to do is to pick a specific place to put it in your bag, pouch or whatever and have a strap on your camera... when it's out of your bag have that strap around your wrist.

I wouldn't bring it out on a normal night, but if there is a birthday or it's around Christmas time, Paddy's Day etc. I would.

Am forever mis-laying phone!! I could happily hold onto MP3, Camera, whatever for days on end without losing them at all. But whatever it is about me and a phone Handset I just can't keep track of it all! I'm not on about actually losing it, - I mean just um mis-laying it?!? :o Continuous Mini-Heart-Failures till I realize I had it all along! D'oh. Am such a numpty. Often hear of people losing phones on nights out etc., up to 6 or 7 phones lost in their lifetime so far ..... I've never yet actually lost a phone which is quite surprising considering I actually mis-lay the bloody thing so much!

Use the camera on your phone in future :)

I know the phone is a lot of people's problem. My sister is awful for losing hers when she's out. I've dropped it and smashed it into pieces on the ground but still managed to piece it together in my drunken state. Don't know what it is about cameras.

I would use my camera on my phone, only I have a crappy phone with a crappy camera and no flash.

I know it's old-school ... but, would disposable cameras be an option?

Or you could not get drunk when you bring your camera out?
