Legal Requirements for a Trailer

I have 6.5m RIB which I need a trailer for. I heard recently that if the boat being towed is over a certain size or weight a trailer needs to fulfil certain requirements regarding breaking systems or something like that but I cannot find the information anywhere. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah its the vehicle licensing section - which in Cork - is the back office next to the motor taxation on Pouladuff rd.

They told me ..."if its a single axel trailor and the boat is below a certain weight your fine with a standard full license." think its about 3/4 of a tone approx... give them a call...
