[FPL] Gameweek 37 Transfers and Team News

Early news is that Evans and Wellbeck are out for United vs Swansea.

So with a 40 point lead in my money league, I think I can afford to take a point hit to consolidate things a little.

    Current GW37 team

    Krul
    Terry - Vermaelen - S.Kelly
    Bale - Valencia - Dempsey - Pienear
    Cisse - Jelavic - RVP
    SUBS: Vorm, Siggurdsson, Santon, Evans

I think Rooney is a must have player but it means I have to get rid of Cisse and take a 4 point hit to free up funds. The obvious choice is Evans but the plan was Cisse and Bale to Moses and Rooney before the former two had super games last night.

I need Rooney as my rival WILL captain him this weekend.

I think theres gona be a backlash from UTD.

will Valencia start? Thinking of swapping him for Nani.

Im going to stick with Aguero up front with Van P and Cisse, and hope that that either Valencia or Nani will provide cover for not having Rooney.

I agree regarding United. Swansea seem to do well unitil they conced the first. I would probably keep Valencia however as he's almost certain to start. Your front three are very solid. if you have the cash, I'd probably do Aguero to Rooney and then back again for gw38.

seeing as most of us have a bit of spare cash now maybe it might be worth doing a straight swap from Evans-> Evra

I had a lead of close to 100 three weeks ago in my main money league. This is down to about 18 now after three disaster weeks, and the troubles not over yet. Three of my starting defenders are injured, Cahill, Evans and now Simpson. It leaves me with Terry (away at Liverpool) and Cailker (away at United).

The plan is Cahill > Vermaelen. I REALLY don't want to have to take another points hit and lessen the gap even further, but if Simpson/Evans are confirmed out and Caulker is likely to get 0 then I might have to. Either double up on Arsenal defenders or go with a Spurs/Everton defender.

Getting Verm in is a no brainer. Norwich seem to have fizzled out and hes the 2nd most likely to score for Arsenal of late other than RVP ;)

Did you already use a FT this week?

I'm gonna do Cisse -> Rooney or Sigursdsson -> Nani. I'm kinda hoping Cisse is injured so it makes my decision easier. Which would you go for?
The guy im 5 points behind wont have rooney so I'm leaning towards that 1.

I know you're not a massive fan of hits but sometimes you have to do it. You're a good player who makes good decisions. Have some faith in your judgement. I was 8 points ahead when I took an 8 point hit this week. I'm now 40 points ahead.

Cahill to Vermaelen is a very very solid transfer for this gw. I'd honestly have zero problem in taking an 4 point hit in your situation to bring in 2 defensers with the best fixtures for the final two weeks. Vermaelen is one for sure and the other is up to your own judgement. If you brought in Verm, how much have you left for a transfer?

Goalkeepers are shocking this week. Vorm (ManU) and Krul (ManC). Dont think ill bother changing as i need the transfers elsewhere.

    uG97j.jpg

this is my team for next week.. quite unsure what to do. think ill only have 2 fit defenders so maybe getting in Kompany or Evra for Richards.

Any other faults or things i need to improve on? Its squeeky bum time in my league and just about have a 20 point gap opened up, dont want to balls it up now!

Tempted to do Cisse - Rooney and then Rooney - Aguero for the next 2 weeks, but feels wrong to take him out!

    Current Team

    Vorm

    Vermaelen, Kompany, Caulker

    Bale, Pienaar, Dempsey, Sessegnon

    Cisse, Jelavic, Tevez

    Subs: Krul, Sigurdsson, Simpson, Evans

Obvious transfer is Tevez --> RVP

Would like to get rid of Sessegnon & Evans but dont want to take the points hit.

I'd bring in Walker for Caulker if you can afford it, should be a good blocking transfer too as some of your rivals will have probably have him.

Cant believe you still have your WC. Not tempted to play it last week or was your squad healthy enough?

Id have used it 5 times by now!

Simpson is prob a good shout, dont fancy Newcastle keeping a clean sheet again this season.

Oh yea I meant so say along with the Cahill -> Verm transfer so it would be a 4 point hit.

Had 7 or 8 playing two games plus I had 2 FT. I didn't use it last week as I didn't want a ton of players that I would want taken out this week.

After the last few weeks I have to disagree! Couldn't have made a bigger balls of it if I'd tried, I've picked the wrong captain choice the last 4 weeks on the trot and pretty much every 50/50 substitution choice has turned out wrong.

Got Tevez instead of Aguero, getting rid of Rooney for a 4 point hit in the process. Rooney scored twice that week...
Bale instead of VDV, thinking VDV wouldn't play both games.
Brought Cahill in too early and cost myself 4 more points getting in Terry.
Bogdan was a massive failure, and I've just realised I might be forced to play him again this weekend as Mignolet didn't play last week (anyone know why?).
Valencia might not even start against Swansea.

Overall I got a shocking score last week at a cost of 8 points!

Cahill to Verm is a bit of a no brainer and thats my free transfer, but I'm debating whether or not to get Hibbert/Jagielka in for Evans? Or possibly even double up on Arsenal defenders. I'm wary of even making any transfer now as I'm half expecting Cahill/Evans to miraculously recover as soon as I transfer them out, or Verm to get injured before Saturdays game!

You are confusing being a good player with being a psychic. :) You can't get it right all the time. But research and commitment stacks things in your favor a little more than the average player.

Leave it till Friday to get some concrete news.

Anyone know how bad Evans is? Will he miss the last game too?

I've got 3 injured defenders now. Wanted to bring in a new top keeper, but will be putting that off again, it seems.

Hi everyone, need advice: currently have in front Jelavic, Cisse, Adebayor.
Would like to get RVP/Rooney. Who to sell/get?

I'd drop Ade for either of the 2. Rooney could be part of a United backlash, and RVP could knock a few past a dodgy Norwich defence. Not much between them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 89 ✭✭Captain Bob

I am slightly in favor of RVP as after Man City game ( they are playing first) everything could be finished
and Hernandez factor as well, he always scores

No mention of how bad it was, just that he was coming along too slowly for sunday. I'd imagine from that he ll be back for the last match but you never know.

Who is the best goalkeeper to have for 37/38? I'm thinking de Gea?

    Currently have Vorm/Mignolet.

Did a triple transfer. I think. got Jellyfish. captainin' him. Nani and Sagna. Yeah 3. What do reckon for the Newcastle -City game guys??

Went with Valencia out for Moses and BAE out for Hibbert, a 4 point hit yes but after the gameweek just gone its not unreasonable for me to think i might just clinch this at the last minute!

Moses is a must have for the last two weeks and my defense was in rag order with BAE out for the last two weeks, Evans sidelined for now and Caulker who got a big fat nothing against Wolves to play against a UTD side who will be out for blood!

Its all or nothing for the next two weeks for me! If i dont do well this week i will just have a laugh for the last gameweek and make as many transfers as i like and see how high i can score!:pac:

in the same boat as a few others here with my defence

    verm huth skrtel evans caulker

    get something away to qpr

    caulker might get 1 max
    ive given up on skrt

    reina mig my goalies

vdv barfa siggy valencia pienaar...happy with my mids though id like moses

    jelly cisse tevez

quite happy to drop tev for either vp or rooney and up till last nite
i was dropping cisse and tev for rooney and vp but dropping cisse
now is something that worries me

    So rvp or rooney?
    I really can't decide
top three paid in my league and im just under 30 behind the leader
and only 2 behind second and 20 ahead of 4th to im looking just
to get paid and try and match the guy in 4th (he has vp aguero cisse)

just determined not to finish 4th in my league two years running

Got Verm in for Evans. Looks like I'll have to hold off on Moses which is what I originally planned. It's not worth a 4-point hit to get him either because I'd be dropping Cisse for him to play next week. Have to do without him.

I've made my my free transfer, but am now trying to figure out if I should take the hit, and swap Valencia to Vdv. Valencia didn't play last week (I've still no idea why), and Vdv plays in behind Adebayor in Spurs best 11. Not to mention he takes most of the set-pieces. He could continue his good run against a poor villa. However, Villa have the man mountain Dunne back. No coincidence Villas first cleanie in donkeys came immediately with Dunne's return. It's also highly possible that King Fergie will admit his mistake and revert to Valencia over Young or the mighty Park. Saying that even if he does Swansea won't be the easiest nut to crack. They will relish the proposition of United huffing and puffing and trying to blow their proverbial house down. Any mystic megs out there want to call it? My normal rule is if you aren't sure leave it.

Rooney misses a penalty by belting it so hard that it hits the cross bar and loops over DDG for an own goal. He complains about it and takes off his jersey resulting in a red card. Sorry about that...

No idea, but I'm sure he'll be among the points. You only have to look at his stats to see he loves playing at home. If Swansea conced early, I think Rooney will get into the low teens with his score.

Have Stephen Ireland ahead of the weekend which I'm not too happy about (possible my worst transfer of the season) but have a more pressing transfer to make. Team for the weekend looks like:

    Bogdan
Turner (or possibly Kelly from Fulham) - Terry - Kompany
    Valencia - Ireland - Pienaar - Dempsey
Cisse - van Persie - Tevez

Subs: Vorm, Kelly, Siggy, Jonny Evans (inj).

My plan at the minute is to switch either Tevez/Cisse for either Rooney/Jelavic.

    My reasoning to keep/sell is:

Tevez - City on form can be unstoppable. They were all over United Monday night. That said, Tevez was very withdrawn from the United goal and never looked like scoring. Things could be alot different against Newcastle if they attacked though.
Cisse - he's on form and raring to go. It's City though and Kompany is my player of the season. If Newcastle could lose 4-0 to Wigan, an on-form City could destroy them.

Rooney - United playing Swansea but then Rooney didn't look great the other night. I'm not a huge fan of his in FF anyway. He'll either get ya ten for two goals or booked and end up with 1 appearance point. Never seems to get something in between like a solid 6 or 8.
Jelavic - looks on form and they have Wolves.

At the moment I'm leaning towards Cisse to Jelly. Any opinions folks?

Aguero or Cisse to RVP/Rooney is the obvious transfer, depending on how you think City - Newcastle will go and your bank funds. You're midfield looks solid but your defense apart from Hibbert won't be getting you many points this week.

If you dont want to make a change up front, then get out BAE as I highly doubt he'll play again this season
