I tend to dress younger than I am. I don't do it intentionally I am just drawn to younger clothes. I think I get away with it as I don't look my age (30s).

Do you think this is a good or bad thing?

What on earth is dressing your age?
You mean not wearing Crimplene until your 60+?

Personally I think not dressing to suit your shape is worse than not dressing for your age. Once it's not a sixty-something year old in jeggings and crop tops it's probably fine!

    'Nuff said.

I dress quite formally in work and over the years have learned to dress up dull suits with interesting tops and shoes/accessories.

Outside of work I live in jeans, but like to look smart so I dress them up.

I've found as Ive gotten older that I prefer good quality clothes that last to lots of cheap stuff that falls apart.

So i'd not say I dress for my age, more for the occasion and to suit my shape?

I'm late thirties btw and knowing to myself that I look well, my clothes fit well, and suit the occasion does my confidence wonders.

You wouldn't catch me in the latest phase of shorts and black tights that I see around tho!

I wear less mini skirts now and less jeans but that is more because my shape has changed since having children (have bigger hips). I don't dress my age.

I dress in what i like, my 12 year old and i have the same jeans from next and the same blouse from dunnes. Both items were purchased in the adults sections. Does that mean she dresses like a 30 year old or i dress like a 12 year old??? We both liked the jeans and she loves the blouse that i bought so i got her one. Also we did have the 2 of the same linen pants from Next, however now ive lost weight they dont fit me and now she is bigger they dont fit her. Am i embarrased about wearing the sme clothes as my 12 year old? not at all! Is she embarrased about me wearing the same clothes as her? Hell yeah, so we never wear the same clothes on the same day. Her school mates know we have a few of the same items yet she never gets teased, they think its cool, i get on great with her mates.

I shop in New look, Next, Dunnes, Debenhams, M&S and for dresses i look in pamela scott, i also have local stores i get my clothes in, i also have a few items from Carrigg Donn. I tend to wear less black now and wear more pinks and reds ( i found red really suits my skin tone). I rarely wear white because the kids make it dirty in no time at all.

I don't really know what clothes are 27-specific? I just wear what I like and what suits me.

Jeez i havent worn one of those for 6 or so years:eek:, now ive lost the weight im going for shorter legnth dresses. Instead of getting a full legnth maxi dress for holidays i went for a knee legnth one from Debenhams.

My daughter was with me and she tried on a playsuit (shorts and vest together) and she asked me to try it on too (for the fun of it) it looked great on my daughter but on me it looked stupid, way too girly... Think that item should be left for the under 18s..

Ditto, even if it still does result in me looking like a student a lot of the time :pac:

I dress for myself and my shape, not my age. I am late 30's amd rather over weigth at the moment so it is very important to dress my shape and also to wear what makes me feel good.

My mother is in her 80's and one of the most stylish, glam ladies you will ever see. She rocks jeans, top and jacket with a funky scarf or knee kigh boots, pencil skirt and shirt. So is she dressing her age... Hell yes, she looks and feels amazing, wears what suits her shape, colouring and wears it well. her stuff comes from Topshop, DP, M&S, Next, River Island, Dunnes and lots of other places.

I wear lots of dresses, sometimes with boots and legging or tights and flats/heels. They suit my shape and make me feel pretty. I also wear skinny jeans, tunic tops and boots, or jeans, top, cardi and converse. Again all picked to suit my body shape not my age.

I don't see why I should not wear what I want due to age but do wear what suits me.

I have to dress "professionally" for college. The other day I went to the zoo and couldn't climb the obstacle course in the playground properly because of my pencil skirt. I'm 21.

I don't really follow trends. I like sort of classic looks which I think you can wear from 20 to eternity. I like fitted blazers, tailored skinnyish trousers, shift dresses etc. Put it this way, Zara is my favourite shop. I'm in my mid 20's btw.

Dress my shape in whatever I like/am drawn to. As I get older I am more inclined to consider quality but my daughters in their 20's and I swap and share. However, wouldn't be borrowing their shortie shorts and they let me know in no uncertain terms if they consider I've made a dodgy choice

I'm a 28 year old man who wears combats, t-shirts (plain black or band), runners and a leather jacket. That's pretty much how I've always dressed, mainly because that's what I like and feel comfortable in and I doubt that'll change any time soon. I'm hardly fashionable but then I never cared for that ****e anyway.

But it would depress you the amount of times I've been told I should "dress my age".

Usually by tossers my age (or even younger) who dress like their dads/mums.

Sure I'm 23 and my Mother is 48 and we share clothes :o

Somedays I dress a lot younger than my age (whatever that means). I've lots of the same clothes I've had since I was 15. Usually though I reckon I dress the same as everyone else my age.

Age is a state of mind!

    Wear your mind! :-)

When I go shopping, I look for things that suit me best. I do dress a bit younger then my age, like who wants to wear fuddy duddy chiffon blouse and a knotty tweed pleated skirt to below the knees with flat hush puppy shoes?! Erm! Don't look at me... I'm not wearing stuff that older people wear! Oh I am not old not yet, and I don't wear short skirts or dresses either! I like to look nice and I do have a qurky, girly, classic style. I could be any of those on any given day mood depending!

    So wear your mind! :)

I got a dress in Tesco the other day that was for 13-14 year olds - it was nice and I figured that not many adults would be wearing it! I do like the 50's style of dress but that is timeless.
