    Hi there,

I have a blog (www.ultrablue.ie) and want to create an RSS feed that people can subscribe to and get blog posts directly to their email.

What's the best site/software to use? Preferably I'd like to have access to those email addresses rather than them being inaccessible on the RSS host site.

Also, if possible, I'd prefer not to pay for the service.

I'm a novice at this so if there's any more info that would help let me know. Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Killian

That's not how RSS works. An RSS feed in something you publish, that other people can use an RSS reader to pull data down from. Email is not involved at all.... which you should know, you already have an RSS feed on your site

It sounds like what you actually want is to create a mailing list. You put a form up on your website for people to fill in, add them to your list, then when a new blog post is made, you send out an email blast to everyone on your email list. Something like MadMimi or MailChimp could help you there.

You'd want to be careful though, there are a lot of protections set up around handling customer data (email addresses in this case). They have to willingly sign up, you have to be clear you're going to be emailing them, and you have to provide an unsubscribe mechanism

Boardsie Enhancement Suite - a browser extension to make using Boards on desktop a better experience (includes full-width display, keyboard shortcuts, dark mode, and more). Now available through your browser's extension store.

    Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/boardsie-enhancement-suite/

    Chrome/Edge/Opera: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/boardsie-enhancement-suit/bbgnmnfagihoohjkofdnofcfmkpdmmce

Ahh, I think you're being a bit OTT there, some RSS services DO deliver via email.

OP, your site is already offering a feed that is being managed with Feedburner. So feedburner's email subscription option is probably the best for you. It's 100% free, unlike some of the other services mentioned, and offers the validation, unsubscribe mechanism etc that are needed.

The easiest way is to add the follow-by-email gadget (ref: http://blogger-hints-and-tips.blogspot.co.uk/2011/03/understanding-follow-by-email-gadget.html)

But I actually recommend setting up the services yourself, because then you can control various other things about the sent-messages. (ref: http://blogger-hints-and-tips.blogspot.com/2010/11/adding-subscribe-by-email-option-using.html)

That's an RSS service with a follow-by-email service. They're basically just implementing what I posted above, except it's in the background (from the point of view of the website owner). Good find though, it looks like it's exactly what the OP needs, especially since they're already using Feedburner/Blogger
