    Hi there

Im currently hoping to cut after a successful bulk (20 lbs about 3 fat i presume) but due to a leg injury I cant to pretty much any cardio..(it used to be 2 sessions a week)...I am doing weights 4 days a weeks however...Just wondering is it safe to eat a tin of chickpeas (batchelors) everyday along with my foods ( chicken ,salmon ,steak, nuts ,oils and heaps of veg you know the usuals)..and as there far higher in fibre i was considering them instead of things like potatoes rice pasta..just until the injury is fixed??? thanks also i would be open to kidney beans the rest too :) im not very fussy:D

Dial back your calories to maintenance (your real maintenance, the amount you can eat without changing weight) until you are healed.

Make sure you are getting enough protein, fats, fibre and green veggies. Make the cut in the pasta/rice/bread type carbs. They're great if you are exercising intensely, not an asset if you spending a lot of time sitting.

Im getting stacks of veg and protien..some good fats too :)...I still do 4 days weight training a week and karate too so im fairly active...just curious as to how beneficial these would be instead of lets say pasta?

You're doing karate and think you're not doing cardio???

Pasta is fine if you are working it off. Compared with most protein/fat combos, it's relatively low in nutrients, so if you have to cut calories, cut foods like that rather than the fish/meat/eggs/veg stuff.

Well I dont find it gets the heart rate up much to be honest..but maybe then again im used to hard workouts as opposed to the others?

I used to do 2 days of cardio also..bout 500 kcal twice a week..

I should have mentioned..the legume interest is also due to the fibre content :)

I'd go for legumes rather than pasta.

Yikes, when I did taekwondo, my heart rate was up to maximum all the time.
