Bohs very hit and miss thus far. Haven't been particularly consistent but Bray haven't been up to much. Having said that, it'll probably be a score draw. :pac:

Still debating if I'll make the trip out to the game or not. More than likely will I'd say.

After Bray we've 6 difficult fixtures so a win would set us up well going into them, shant be easy though.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Yup thats were most our 22k a week budget goes.

    http://blackandwhitetown.tumblr.com/post/22248081971/budget-restricted-our-choice-of-players-mccaffrey
“We have a wage bill of 6k a week at a squeeze. You compare that to Shamrock Rovers who have 30k, Sligo Rovers, over 20k, Derry City, 18k, St Patrick’s Athletic have 22k, there’s no comparison.

    :D

The Rovers, Pats, Sligo and Derry marketing and PRO are all doing their jobs well I see.

Bray really need something, just to pull away that bit more. Game could go either way, be tense but great.

We are getting the hang of this league now.

Confident we will get the win against DundaaaaKKK.

Longford are going for our 8th win in 10. Playing Wexford in the Flansiro (soon to be changed :( )

Limerick are playing Mervue at home,so we could do with a win to keep the gap open. Top regardless after this weekend. COME ON THE TOWN! :D

Did a bit of a double take alright when I heard McCaffrey throw out those figures. Out of interest what are the actual weekly budgets for Derry, Pats, Shamrock Rovers and Sligo?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,500 ✭✭✭✭cson

30k a week assuming an 8 month season is nigh on €1m/yr.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,184 ✭✭✭✭Pighead

More cutbacks for Dundalk with a first team coach and a goalkeeping coach given the boot last night. Think McCaffrey is starting to realise that he's taken on a very hard job.

    DundaaaaKKK.

    Seriously, this bull**** again?

Why not drag up something that happened in the 80s or 70s?

Waters and Jayo Byrne up front for Bray will cause us problems for sure.

Team news- "Captain Owen Heary (hip injury against Dundalk) may not be fit, and goalkeeper Andy McNulty, Dave Mulcahy and Danny Joyce are out with flu. Striker Dave Scully is away at a family wedding.

However, midfielder Karl Moore returns from a shoulder injury he received in the Monaghan game."

Big plus having Moore back but we'll miss Heary and Mulchay's experience!

Aswell, last time I went to Bray they didn't have student/concession prices, if it still the same?

No. You get a student ticket for the same price as an adult ticket. Went to a LSC game there a while ago. Tenner for LSC is painful. Arse is still sore. They wouldn't even let in a Bray U-19 Bray player unless he paid full whack.

Was a tenner for myself two weeks ago, dunno if that's a concession

Debating whether its worth it to head down for the 20mins or so they'll ignore Matthews and play good stuff. That 20min spell after HT last week was nearly worth enduring the other 70mins spent hoofing it.

I thought that spell was some of the best stuff we've played in a while. Very intensive and cork were struggling to get out of there own half. But then it was like someone said" thats enough attacking for tonight "and its backs to the wall for the remainder.

To divert attention away from racist Corkies who loved singing "I'd rather be a Paki than a Dub".

Ronan Finn signed a two year contract extension. Good news. He seems to be flourishing under Kenny.

Wow. I'm surprised Matthews didn't have lemons on the bench last week, instead of the champagne ye had last season. Shels fans have had their own rendition of that too. ;)

Not sure what that has to do with the irony of Corkies implying Dundalk fans are racist.

I think he's the only player who thrives more than Twigg with two upfront and a GON/Kavanagh/Baker type second striker. He was great at the start of last season when GON was playing.

It lets him drop his shoulder and play through balls and then getting it to Twigg in the danger areas moreso than trying to play the intricate stuff with Twigg.

Assume the Finn signing is for playing now rather than selling?

Still not a big fan of him, decent LOI player but dont think hes good enough for accross the water.

I get you about England in a way. He's not a meat and potatoes LOI midfielder but he's been very impressive this season and I think Kenny is getting the best of him when he roams a bit. He mostly didn't under MON because of formation, kinda like Rice did better under MON and doesn't seem to in Kenny's teams.

Win-win: if clubs do come calling, we don't lose him for free a-la Shep and if not, he's with us for two more years.

If we had meat and potatoes LOI mids, we might have won something.....

Finn doesnt strike me as am across the water player, disappears out of games way too much same when with Fingal.

If you play 2 up front you have to pick between Rice/Turner/Finn for 2

Finn needs to have a ball winner with him in a 2-man midi or even better something like 3-5-2 where he can roam between mid and forwards. Turner for me would be the one to be dropped in a two-man mid with McCormack/Rice with Finn or with McCormack/Rice and Turner if you play 3 mids.

Finn defo our outstanding player with Twigg so far this season though.

A win away in Drogheda would be great. We might be missing a few key players.

Buzzing for the trip, only found out this evening I'd be able to get out of working tomorrow night.

"Need" a win, maybe, but we won't be in danger of relegation, and any thoughts of a top 4 finish are ridiculous, a finish in 5th, 6th or 7th would be a satisfactory season for Shels.

First game back tonight. Can't wait.

A win tonight and get anything from Belfield next week and it would have been a satisfactory opening round.

Zerba3 says it all! We've been woeful, lately we were lucky to beat Crumlin on Monday, even Deano thought they were going to do us over.

Bogged down with study, don't think I'll make it out to Bray =/. Be surprised if we got a result, missing some key figures in defense.
