Was that you talking to Duffy?? I thought you were a bloke, but maybe you have a feminine voice.

Feminine as I am Darlin, a Donegal accent I do not have girlfriend!

Insane or not, society needs protection from (double) killers. You can probably recover from mental illness (with meds etc) but if you've killed someone, you've crossed a line and put yourself into a different category to someone else with mental illness that hasn't harmed anyone.

mental ilness covers a very broad spectrum , for every john gallagher or brendan o donell , their are ten thousand unemployed builders suffering from regular depression and while its important not to be ignorant about mental illnss , its equally important not to be naive about the fact that a small percentage of people are violently mentally ill , the present day narrative seems to insist that a nice cup of tea once per week with a friendly progressive social worker can pacify everyone including the guy who is attacking his postman for being lucifer himself , aint that simple

On Mooney...... I doubt what he actually thinks of the Knuckleheads would get past the no. 1 fan :).

Wonder will Mooney discuss what happens to the lack of human rights after the eurovision in Azerbaijan as revealed by Panorama on Monday night. Doubtful.

Human rights!!! oh no, too political....not during Songfestivus.

Right now he's more consumed in debating the merits of Baku having a London-style fleet of cabs.....tastefully painted in purple

Think this is the one Derek got into last night after meeting his heroes.
Driver was complaining bitterly about those stains this morning :D

As interesting of a story the Gallagher thing is, I am beginning to think Joe is purposely ignoring the much more important (as of now) Fiscal Treaty.

Now there's a good reason to tune out right from the start. There's enough crap talked about it on every radio station, 24 hours a day, without Duffy, his callers and their queer logic ruining our day even more.

Just heard the promo on Ronan Collins and looks like more of the same today.... gossipy wimin dying to tell their tales of how they knew the insane killer and his victims.

Though Joe mentioned a "battle in broad daylight" on O'Connel St. so that could have potential!

I read a great book a few years ago called Air Frame, by Micahel Crichton(RIP). ANd there was a bit in it talking about air disasters and one of the analysts asked the central character what disasters they remembered, and they mentioned a couple with very few people dead. and the analyst said something along the lines of the following: "yes, there was also the taiwanese crash where 200 people died, and a russian crash where 260 people died. The reason you remember the ones you do is because there was video of the event which got shown on the news".

My point is, fights happen on O'Connel street every mother flipping day. Sometimes twice a day, sometimes five times a day. The reason this one is on liveline? 'Coz theres video of it.

    Hang your heads in shame.

    Edit:

Don't you love the guy in the middle with the Lidl bag?

He's paid by Lidl to walk around waiting for something extraordinary to be videoed, then jump in the middle of it with a Lidl bag.... And then when it goes viral he gets free product placement..
