    Hey,

I'm thinking of doing the Docklands 5K fun Run in may and just wondering if anyone could recommend a good training plan for this. I'm relatively fit at the moment but never really run long distances, usually just HIT training in the gym.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

If you're relatively fit go out and give 5k a shot, just run at a nice relaxed pace. If you need to stop then stop. When you've recovered start running again.

If you have a smart phone, install endomondo on it. You can check your pace when you get home and adjust your pace the next time you go out.

    You'll be grand :)

If you have an iPod or iPhone iTunes have a couch to 5k running podcast you can download for free it's really good kinda like a personal trainer in your ear and up tempo music ideal for jogging. It's about an 8 week program but if your no couch potato and reasonable fit you could skip the first few weeks as there for the really un-fit as in me!! There are longer distance Ones on there too.. Hope this helps

Could you be more specific? There seems to be a lot of couch to 5k apps for free. I'm sure they are not all good.

What's your goal? Do you want to just finish it, finish it running at a reasonable pace or do it as fast as you can?

    When is the docklands 5k?

Might be worth asking on the A/R/T board.

The apps are all the same really.
    No idea about the podcast.

But C25k is about getting unfit people to finishing a 5k. If you are already fit and able for 5k then its not the training plan to follow to improve a 5k time.
