Whole wheat semolina (brown)

So I eat a fair bit of brown pasta from Superquinn (their brand) - and I checked the ingredients recently to see that it was made from 'whole wheat semolina'. The interweb tells me that semolina is in fact made from durum wheat and is therefore usually white in colour.

Can anyone clear this up for me as to whether I'm definitely eating a complex carbohydrate or not? It is definitely brown in colour and has a much coarser feel and taste to it to white pasta - just the semolina part seems odd :pac:

White or brown pasta are both complex carbohydrates so I don't see your colour concern.
