    Good, bad, indifferent?

I tend to have mine hardboiled or soft poached (still getting the hang of poaching) I don't like fried or scrambled.

    How many are too many

Do they help you to feel full.

Short answer: Eat as many as you like, they're fine.

Long answer: Worth searching the many threads about the subject or giving it a google :P

I eat 4-6 a day for the last couple of years and I've never been better.

I eat two every couple of days, I need variety and its not like I'm working out every day with college finals so two fills me up, I used to have one a day but now when I have one I feel restricted, honestly I am in no way concerned about the health implications of eggs.

Do people buy organic? That's my only health concern long term with stuff like eggs.

Some days i have been known to eat up to 8-10 lol
I also wondered if maybe that was too much.
But i heard that the yolk cancels out the colesterol in the white.

About the free range/organic im not sure but would love clarification.

My mother told me i should buy small chickens and small fish, because they have less time to build up toxins and mercury in the fish, compared to big ones.
I consider that idea when buying eggs.
So i have been buying 24 for 3 euro in tesco hehe.

Im sure organic or free range may have more nutrition, but as long as the cheap ones dont have any hormones etc in them i am happy.
But like i said, would love that to be clarified.

Just to let you know all the cholesterol in eggs is in the yolk! There's none in the white.

I could eat up to 10-15 egg whites a day depending on the training I am doing. The odd yoke here and there but I try to avoid.

Hmm can anyone tell then what the white consists of and also the yolk?
For some reason(maybe the textures) i had thought the yolk had all that healthy protein and the white was more fatty or something similar.

Im trying to keep as close to a ketogenic diet as i can.So im a little lost when it comes to finding good sources of fat.
Would eggs help me here regarding fat? and if so which part?
Or either way should i just eat both parts?

Thanks, i guess i asked for that hehe.
seems the white is 90% water and 10% protein.
Seems to me you are throwing away the good part if you just eat the whites alone.
Unless there is evidence that eating too many yolks despite the white being included has ill effects.

I usually have about 3 a week myself (whole eggs) and always buy free range Organic.

Eat the whole egg. It's best to buy free range organic though, just to be sure the hen hasn't been fed any crap.

The egg yolk cholesterol thing is just a myth.

Thanks for that link, a very good article.
It explains alot to me anyway. And probably why i have found i burn through so much fat, even though i am always eating.
That study on the men doing a keto diet was nice to read to.
Im trying to keep to a keto diet and had been eating something like 6 eggs a day average.
I was worrying there wasnt enough fat in them, but that aside i wasnt sure if i was getting too much protein from thm or cholesterol.
I feel a bit more confident and its convinced me to try set money aside for free range eggs.
I have noticed a big difference in yolk colour. The cheap ones are a really pale yellow and dont look that healthy.

You could get a few hens of your own, there great and give the best quality eggs you can get - as long as you feed them the right things,
    easy to keep as well

I used to eat abt 4 every morn....till I came out in a rash all over my body after 6 months...have 5 every second day now and no problems.
P.S I read that the cholesterol studies were all done by all the large cereal firms so.......

Has anyone tried the pickled ones? Are they any better or worse than plain old hard boiled egg?
They look like they might be nice in a salad . . .

I eat 4 - 6 eggs a day (depending on the day and what's for lunch) and I feel fab :)

The kids and I get through 7 dozen eggs between us a week!

Pickled eggs are lovely. The outside will taste like vinegar but it does not penetrate the egg. So convenient too!
