Upgrading my M11X R3?

    I bought an Alienware M11X R3 last August. It's pretty much the base model ie 2GB RAM, GT540 (can't remember if it's i7 though).

    I'm currently travelling for the year and I lent it to a mate but I'm thinking that when I get back it's going to be pretty out of date. I want to be able to play as many AAA titles as possible.

    Would I be better off selling it to upgrade to a new model when I get back?

    or

    Would it be better to perform some upgrades myself ie increase the RAM and put in an SSD?

    Is the GT540 a capable enough card and would those upgrades make a huge difference to gaming or should I start over?
