Motorola Motolux problems with Skype

I have just purchased a Motorola Motolux Android phone running 2.3.7 Gingerbread. Nice little phone but a terrible camera. It's rated at 8MP. However, the results are worse than my old Nokia 5230 with a 2MP.

I have a problem with Skype. Having downloaded and installed from the Android market, the application crashes after connecting a call. I also can't make a sound test. It crashes while listening to the instructions to test sound which were inaudible and I can't find a way of increasing the volume ie., there doesn't appear to be a menu to do this, unlike the PC version which is very versitile.

Get rid of it an do a re-install. Just might work.

Would you believe, I have just done that and have just received your post, thanks!

Having done this and got it working, I tried the sound test first and it was successful, first time. I the set up a call between the phone and the PC and everything connected as it should but the picture from the phone to the PC was very jerky and I had lots of sound dropouts. Picture and sound on the PC to the phone was perfect. I am just wondering since this phone only has an 800GHZ single core chip will this be the norm for this phone.

Is anybody else running a phone with this size of processor and using Skype successfully.
