I wonder if the bank would loan me 5k to get 2k out of hurricane fly! Ryanair is a tough one to call. I can't see kumbeshwar getting into it. Menorah and first lietenant look the obvious choices with the ground a concern for menorah and last years performance in punchestown a concern for first lieutenant ...any surprises in there?

Wouldn't surprise me if there was no racing tomorrow

For those who are ones for the stats... Gordon Elliott's had an awful time of it at Perth so far this week, but his 28% strike rate at the course suggests he's due a winner or two tomorrow!!

If Menorah can jump a clear round, I've no doubt he'll have the class to win tomorrow.
The Fly hopefully does ok in his schooling session...
I fancy a decent performance from Beneficient tomorrow, if he isn't challenged for the lead, and there are no non runners, might be an ok each way bet.

First Lieutenant for me. Hopefully Davy makes all and they won't get past.
Can Menorah go 2 races without falling?? Probably not lol

Ah great. Sunshine, time to get up and get ready for the long journey up to Punchestown. I see Willie Mullins has one off that great mare Orchestra in the bumper, Katie rides it.

This thing with First Lieutenant is weird, they can't make him into a 2 miler just because the owner has QDLR, SDC, And LI in the staying division.

Paddy Power offering Hurricane Fly at Evens for a limited time.

€20 Max bet is a bit ****e, but its better than nothing, and Im sure you can do the bet a number of times.

Lucky William in the first 6/1

Why would the real article (BJ Gerathy) 17.30 would be 40/1??
Its a 4 horse race like, surely he has some sort of a chance

Thanks, does he like heavy ground?

The other 3 in the race are top class. Unfortunately the signs of the real article turning into something special were not as obvious since his race in Down royal earlier In the season

The 3rd race is lined up to be a cracker. Rebel Fitz appeals at a price ... Although all have some level of appeal. 2nd 1 1/2l to mount benbulben in his last race conceeding 3lb's. Not forgetting mount benbulben went off 3rd fav in the Albert Bartlett over 3m but didn't run any kind of a race as so many fancies do at chelt

    Punchestown 6:40

If you are looking for a bit of E/W value Ted Veale at 25/1 is not a bad shout.

Loves the heavy ground. He is a new to hurdling but has some really good form on Heavy ground in NHF races.

    PS: Just a fancy!

I fancy him too at bigger odds then the first two in the market and question marks about them both.

Also Dedigout 6/1 looks better value against a very short felix younger in a extremely completive champion novice hurdle @ 6.05

I think Kumbeshwar is great value for this race, he has really good soft and heavy ground form. Alan King is working wonders with his horses this year too. For me Menorah has been lack lustre this year and I think first lieutenant wont handle the ground and also as he is not the greatest jumper I think he is open to make a mistake that will cost.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,408 ✭✭✭ft9

    Lucky William
    Hurricane Fly, Ziadpour, forecast
    Felix Younger
    Oscar Dara
    Lughnasa

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23 Neo_g2001

    Kumbeshwar
Totally agree with FT9 and am doing the same forecast
    Jenari E/W
    Ted Veale E/W
Way up in the air E/W

Not the greatest day for punting but sticking to the higher odds E/W's

Two singles Lucky William and colour Sqaudron.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,818 ✭✭✭Tigerandahalf

Hard to pick anything but Willie Mullins horses are v much in form. Well worth backing anything he has.

I think Menorah won't be too inconvenienced by the ground, defo is a credible 2m horse and stays further as seen at Aintree on GS over 20f, the Punchestown fences are friendly enough too :pac:

The guts of 5/2 on Betfair is very appealing.

Ugh. Six accumulators. Three starting with Menorah and three with First Lieutenant.
    Money down the drain

    Nice win.

Easy money at evens from Paddy Power for a casual better like myself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,818 ✭✭✭Tigerandahalf

Had Hurricane and Thousand Stars in forecast. TS was going to struggle once took up pace. I noticed Ruby sheltering the horse behind the others. I wonder is there a strong wind there. T Walsh prettt right. Not same horse as last year.
