    Holy moly
So much for the "Arab Spring".

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2135434/Outrage-Egypt-plans-farewell-intercourse-law-husbands-sex-dead-wives-hours-AFTER-death.html
Outrage as Egypt plans 'farewell intercourse law' so husbands can have sex with DEAD wives up to six hours after their death

Egyptian husbands will soon be legally allowed to have sex with their dead wives - for up to six hours after their death.
The controversial new law is part of a raft of measures being introduced by the Islamist-dominated parliament.
It will also see the minimum age of marriage lowered to 14 and the ridding of women's rights of getting education and employment.
Egypt's National Council for Women is campaigning against the changes, saying that 'marginalising and undermining the status of women would negatively affect the country's human development'.

    Al Arabiya

Egypt’s National Council for Women (NCW) has appealed to the Islamist-dominated parliament not to approve two controversial laws on the minimum age of marriage and allowing a husband to have sex with his dead wife within six hours of her death according to a report in an Egyptian newspaper.

The appeal came in a message sent by Dr. Mervat al-Talawi, head of the NCW, to the Egyptian People’s Assembly Speaker, Dr. Saad al-Katatni, addressing the woes of Egyptian women, especially after the popular uprising that toppled president Hosni Mubarak in February 2011.

Whats the significance of 6 hours? Why not 10? What if your more than 6 hours away when she dies?

rigor mortis sets in i'd imagine? and then you'd have to call the paramedics to dislodge the husband!

although rigor mortis could work in a womans favor if the husband croaks it! :D

not sure how this law would work though in the case of two mummys!

If someone else has sex with the corpse does that mean they'll get charged with rape? Will the corpse be accused of adultery?

I don't see much Islamaphobia - just some piss taking out of a very screwed up law. The second one about lowering the marriage age to 14 is just too sad to think about.

Seeing as its mostly puns, it would seem the main force of the usual suspects haven't arrived yet.

A read of the article makes one think that its mail smoke and mirrors bull****. While offhand I'd believe that Islamists want to reduce womens rights (its in the job description), there are restrictions on touching the dead, so the necrophilia part is 99.9% likely bollocks.

The pyramids are going to rake in the cash now with a whole new form of sex tourism. And these lads have nailed a key demographic in the necrophiliac vote. Thread about nothing really. Ye're all just anti Islamic. That's your problem.

It's a hard enough life being a woman in an Islamic country. Now they want to ride them into the ground.

They're planning to get rid of the rights of women to have an education, and all people are shocked by is that some people may legally shag a corpse?

This is the same government that jailed the Middle East's most famous actor (And UN goodwill ambassador) Adel Imam for "insulting Islam". Considering the films in question were made decades before and were well received when they were first released I think this is a sign of what is to come for Egypt. Bearded idiots in government arguing over nonsense such as necrophilia, divorce, blasphemy while the country's economy, health and education services go down the drain.

This "Arab Spring: Freedom revolution" fairytale that people over here in the West believe in is a farce.

I'd love to have been at the meeting where this issue was raised...

"Now we're finished with discussing traffic congestion in Cairo, any other business before we close the meeting?"

A man puts his hand up tentatively ," yea, just one more thing.......
