Hopefully BM can make the final in Munich but it will be difficult for them to score at the Bernabeu and RM have an away goal

Going go with 2 - 1 to RM going down to penalties with BM winning :)

Really want Real to go through and win it... Ronaldo to be massive tonight!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

I'll be rooting for Bayern but I'd love Real Madrid to beat Chelsea to win the final as Mourinho dances by Abramovich's private box banging on the window going, "Faaackin' have some of that". :pac:

C'mon Bayern...couldn't stand a Chelsea vs Madrid final...

Unfortunately I see Madrid winning tonight. Maybe 2-0 or 3-1.

Will be watching this in Madrid so might have to keep my allegiances on the down low

The Newcastle fan fighting for 4th doesnt want a Chelsea victory.

    Typical

    :pac: :pac: :pac:

I just hope if we do lose the final its to Bayern as I couldnt stand seeing Jose celebrate on the pitch at our expense. :(

I love these semis where I'm almost neutral. Much more enjoyable than yesterday's trauma!

I hope Bayern go through and think they will. I like them as a team and their style. That said won't be put out if Real win. From Chelsea's pov Bayern at home is tough and Mourinho's Real is tough.

Hope they serve up a game as exciting as yesterdays but with more free-flowing football.

Jose will never have a better chance to win the CL and La Liga, and make himself a living legend.

Please win Bayern, please. I really shudder at the thought of a Real Madrid double.

    :D

Ye can have it as long as we get to beat someone to 4th by winning the UCL. Preferably Spurs. :p

I'd happily take finsihing 6th, losing the FA cup final and winning the UCL. ;)

    Madrid players on yellow cards:
Xabi Alonso, Fabio Coentrao, Higuain and Sergio Ramos

Looking promising for Chelsea so with the players they're missing.

Going with Bayern to progress as they have plenty to offer going forward.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,683 ✭✭✭plasmaguy

Bayern are a really improving side in Europe, and I think they have given up on the German League from what I understand, though could be wrong.

They also have a habit though going back to the Nou Camp final of 1999 of blowing it on the big occasion.

If I was a betting man, I would put my money on 2-1 to Madrid, taking it to extra time.

Ronaldo does the business tonight and in the final and Madrid when La Liga, its hard to argue against him for World Player of the year.

If this happens he will have to win World Player of the Year. Even just winning La Liga and Barca being trophyless should be enough for him to win it.

Looking forward to this, presume Real will go with the same side; Casillas, Coentrao, Ramos, Pepe, Arbeloa, Alonso, Khedira, Ozil, Ronaldo, Di Maria, Benzema.

Bayern have certainly come on leaps and bounds since the last time they got this far, and in Schweinsteiger and Kroos have a midfield that could match any in Europe; I'd absolutely love to see them win this match and the competition overall, having a winner that isn't from England, Spain or Italy would be good for the CL, and with some of their performances so far I think Bayern could be the team to do that.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,832 ✭✭✭✭Blatter

Lahm, Badstuber, Boateng, Alaba, Muller, Kroos, Gustavo, Ramos, Alonso, Coentrao and Higuain all one yellow from a suspension.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,832 ✭✭✭✭Blatter

Real XI vs. Bayern: Casillas - Arbeloa, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo - Khedira, Xabi Alonso - di Maria, Özil, Ronaldo - Benzema

Bayern XI vs. Real: Neuer - Lahm, Boateng, Badstuber, Alaba - Gustavo, Schweinsteiger - Robben, Kroos, Ribery - Gomez

1 change for Real, Marcelo in for Coentrao.

    As you were for Bayern.

Fancy Bayern on away goals. Can see them going down 3-2 but they will score tonight I'm sure of it. Need big games from Ribery and Robben

Yeah, it's probably a lost cause given that Dortmund won the league at the weekend

I'm not sure who I'd like to win though. Bayern ideally, but then I reckon Madrid have a better chance of overturning Chelsea (I'm a Spurs fan with deluded hopes of finishing fourth).

Real Madrid : Casillas (C), Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Arbeloa, Khedira, Ozil, Xabi Alonso, Di Maria, C. Ronaldo, Benzema.

Bayern : Neuer; Lahm, Boateng, Badstuber, Alaba; Schweinsteiger, Luiz Gustavo; Robben, Kroos, Ribery; Gomez

Bayern are really dangerous on the counter. Could be a high scoring game.

Madrid 4-2 I think. Again from a Rovers perspective, Chelsea need to exit the competition quickly and I think there's a better chance with Benzema and Higuain than Gomez and Ilic...so, ahem..go Madrid..

    Dirty feeling, that..

This match has the potential to be epic

I'm edging ever so slightly towards Bayern to win this, Luis Gustavo to boss the midfield again.

    3-1 Madrid sure.

Thats what I am thinking . . Wouldnt Madrid be sick if finally they get the better of their arch rivals, have an opportunity to play chelsea B in the final and they fall at the second last hurdle ! !

Madrids defence is muck and if they dont get an early goal, the Jose tactics of steel wont count for much as they are forced to push more forward . .

Hopefully a Real Madrid victory is the result!

Three pages in and **** all insight from anyone. Did anyone see the Madrid Valencia game a few weeks ago? Most end to end game I've ever seen and it was 0-0, absolutely incredible and could just as easily have been 5-5. I'd like to think something similar could happen tonight if Bayern score first as Madrid would be forced to come back at them hard and fast. There is a possibility that Mourinho will take measures to force them to go through the middle by nullifying wing play but I believe this battle will be won by Bayern on the flanks just as it was last week and hopefully in extra time!

Chelsea would be better off playing Real in the final, playing bayern at home in the final of the champions league would be even tougher
