How bad are.....?

I have been making a big effort with diet and exercise- have cut out refined sugar, dairy, alcohol, caffiene and wheat on a day to day basis, and am trying to reduce portion sizes. I hardly ever eat processed food and most of our food is homemade and organic, but about once a week we get take away. I was wondering if this is ok if I try to choose wisely.

I normally get fresh spring rolls (rice paper, fresh salad veg and rice noodles) and a green curry with steamed rice (tofu, fresh vegetables, coconut milk based sauce); or felafel with hummus and chilli sauce, rice and salad; or lentil and vegetable curry with rice. Its all stuff that if I made it at home I would consider it to be healthy- is it right to assume the same of a take away?

Also was wondering about potatoes? I'm not a huge fan of potatoes and could happily give them up but I love sweet potatoes and cassava.

...and spelt? I've heard that spelt bread is not as bad as wheat but would it be best to avoid all kinds of bread?

    Thanks!

Oh Edit I am weening myself off of thinking food is good and bad, I think that mindset is kind of unhealthy as what happens when you eat something bad like potatoes are not bad or good maybe try cronometer for a few days and see what youre getting too much of and what you need to cut back on based on nutritional needs.

I used to do the one takeaway a week and had to stop although that was for weight loss it was messing with my system and I learned there is no cheating my body, every 2-4 weeks I might have some of one, ah its hard as my fella always wants to order one so I always steam loads of veg and take some of his food or order a half portion and half that again or else I'm eating too many cals at the same time. I do choose wisely but for my wellbeing I feel that once a week does me a disservice. I saved those calories for socialble meals or events because you do have to live I know.

I wouldnt class white noodles and rice esp the takeaway portions healthy compared to complex carbs like brown rice, I like a green curry but I scrimp off as much sauce as possible or have it on the side to dip a little. Anything you order that you make at home I would hold back on classing it healthy a small portion of takeaway food with whatever they cook it with or add to it isn't going to be contributing to your overall health but it shouldnt take away from it or leave your body off balance.

I eat 2 white potatoes a week and 4 sweet potato, lots of nutrition in the right portions. You can compare the nutritional value online, sweet wins hands down.

Spelt flour causes less than an insulin reaction than wholewheat flour.. apparently. I don't avoid all kinds of bread I just don't have bread every day or meat there is no need for it for me but also there is no need (yet) for me to go from 150 grams of carbs a day to 20g, but I personally thing its always good to slowly change somethings and let your body and mind adjust to major diet changes that took years to develop to avoid a snapback.

It's a take away so lets assume it's unhealthy. I'd consider it as a cheat meal for yourself and don't get hung up on it. Just make sure that you deserve it at the end of each week.

Sweet potatoes are a great carb. No need to cut them out.
