Just thought I'd offer this as a tip. Kim Clijsters to win Wimbledon 2012. Since she came out of retirement she,s been excellent. Has a really good record in grandslams recently too (won the us open 2009 & 2010, and the Aussie open 2011). She's just back from injury but chose not to play in the French open, instead getting a head start on her rivals for the grasscourt season. Also the Williams sisters don't seem to be as strong as they used to, they're getting on a bit agewise (Clijsters is a year and a half younger than the younger sister, Serena). The eastern Europeans are the bigger threat (Azarenka etc.), but they're fairly known for often choking in big finals

Anyway Clijsters is 25/1 on Ladbrokes, an excellent price I think, I've put a decent sum on e/w, just thought some of you betting folk might be interested, definitely worthy of a punt imo

Both Kvitova and Azenka won their debut Grand Slam finals in straight sets in the last year so a bit harsh to call them chokers.

But yeah worth a bet at such odds especially if she gets a good draw.

fair point. I think Sharapova came into my mind when i was thinkin about that. still I think Kim looks very sharp and focused since she came back to tennis. I think 25/1 is ridiculously good odds, I know she'll be determined to add a Wimbledon title to her cv too

Like the look of Stosur to beat Errani in straight sets on Thursday at 11/10.
Quick look at their Head to head shows its very likely to come in..

I watched both their 1/4 finals today and Stosur was the far more impressive player

put a few cheeky quid pre-tournament on Djokovic/Sharapova double and Djokovic/Stosur double. Looks more than likely a Djokovic/Nadal final and Sharapova/Stosur final. But we'll see

Didn't get to see much of today's play but have been really impressed with Errani so far, Stosur probably too strong for her tho. Will have a look at 2-1 Stosur.

Clijsters is 33/1 for Wimbledon with VC if you wanted to go in again

They seem to be avoiding 3 of the front 4 in the market (Kvitova, Sharapova, & Azarenka)

Actually took Sharapova at 6/1 a few days ago for 50Euro. Lucky she's down to 9/2 now

Getting behind Murray at 17/8 in play..... I think he can do it.. just need to cut down on the unforced errors

Thoughts on the mens semis 2mrw?

  • Registered Users Posts: 33 richbohs

    Novak @ 8/15

Nadal to win, but think Ferrer will push him hard, like the look of Nadal 3-1 @ 11/4 or 3-2 @ 9/1

    How good was Nadal today?

Awesome the best I've seen him in a long time.... I think he can beat Novak in straight sets on Sunday

Anybody any bets for Wimbledon? I have Clijsters and Sharapova, but i just saw you can get 200/1 for Errani, outrageous odds for a player who got to the most recent Slam final, surely worth a few quid each way

Down to 100/1 now. Pays to get in early with these type of bets. Won 6-1 6-1 today

next few opponents are tricky..still alot of great players ahead of her..sharapova,williams,cleijsters and a few more.. still good odds though.. if only it was clay it would be a great bet

who says she's not good on other surfaces? people are only saying she's a clay specialist based on this year, but before 2012 she didn't do much on any surface, it just so happens most of 2012 so far has been on clay. she got to the quarters of the Australian in January. she's got a very tough draw, but won her first two matches very easily, i think she's a good outside shot

Nadal 5-3 down in the fifth. Big shock on the cards there

never said she's not good on other surfaces, im saying theres plenty of other great players ahead of her and she's probably 200/1 for that reason..

anything can happen.. nadal knows that :)

Ah ok fair enough, but I just saw her referred to a clay court specialist on wiki, I thought maybe that's where you were coming from. She'll most likely be up against Serena next, so easy job :pac: (though Serena is by no means the player she used to be)

Thinking of lumping on Novak outright at evens

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,256 ✭✭✭✭manual_man

Lashed €20 on Kerber. Just cause I fear she could knock out either/both Clijsters/Sharapova, and I can't risk that happening

what are we on 2mrw? Thinking of backing Ferrer against Del Potro, has a good H2H and he looked good against Roddick
