[FPL] - GW 36 Transfers

Seeing as money isn't a huge issue now I'm most likely going to wait til near the end of the week to do some transfers.

The main one I'm thinking about is:

    OUT
    Either Sessegnon or Sinclair

    IN
    Either Ben Arfa or Cabeye

Hard to pick which one to do? Edging towards Sess out and Cabeye in. Mainly because Sinclair has Wolves at home (ideally would have liked to have Sig but didn't have enough free transfers). Also Cabeye has less ownership than Ben Arfa-might not be the case by next Sat though.

After that I might go for VP out and Jelavic in for a 4 point hit. VPs looking a bit tired now. His frist full season in years

On the Barfa v cabeye thing. It has to barfa - he has higher points per game (slightly) despite a load of sub appearances for 0/1 point when he wasnt in favour - which clearly shows now he is in favour he has been well outscoring cabeye in that period.

Cabeye also has an ankle knock, though he should be ok, but if getting him it might be worth waiting a bit to confirm he is definitely fit.

The only down side to barfa would be if pardew suddenly changes tactics against the bigger clubs - chelsea and city after that - with the fear of being too open, but honestly i dont see that happening as they re playing with 3 solid midfielders and when ba and barfa drop back that makes it a 5.

    RVP out, Jelavic in

Thinking of taking a 4 point hit to get rid of Sessegnon. Have Bale & Dempsey, not sure who to get in.

I'm thinking the exact same transfer, RVP out Jelavic in. Will give me 5 guys with dbl wks, and 9.9 mln to use in last 2 weeks if needed.

Cptn Bale or Jelavic tho is my big call.

And whether Mignolet home to Bolton is better choice that Ruddy home to Liverpool who love giving keepers bonus pts!?

I wouldn't captain a spurs player given their current form

Form is temporary. Spurs bad form may continue, but my feeling is they'll pick things up for the remaining games. On the other hand I think Newcastle's form will dip, but if that happens I think it'll be down their fixtures as much as anything else, they have a horrendous run-in

Any thoughts on who I should bring in lads? Thinking of selling RVP or Rooney for Cisse

    Still tempted to tbh!

Get Papiss Cisse and captain him, you have no in form players for the DGW imo

I'd wait to see what the story is with Ade first before you ship out Rooney or VP

    6963763092_23bc92da3f_b.jpg

    Walcott to BenArfa for sure!
Maybe VanPirsie to Jelavic (did that meself this week) or Krul instead of Bogdan?

If i swap anyone out for Van persie i just know he will start scoring :pac:

Jelavic is in good form but Everton can great one week and ordinary the next.

Also not 100 percent on what ill do with Ben Arfa yet he is playing some of the bigger teams for the end of the season and the system may be switched.

Thought someone just posted my team....except moses/ mcclean and have shipped walcott for VDV
I think you need to look at the last 2 games also, as I think in doing so a lot of people will have weaker teams- (eg: Newc players)
In saying that I might take an 8 point hit to take big adavantage of DGW- komp- cahil was a shoe in before tonight so be interested see what ya do

Sorry didn't know this thread had started or else would of posted here not on the other thread. well here it is again

I can't see any obvious changes at the moment apart from Jellyfish, if even him so my plan will be this

Tevez(what a fail this week cus I sold Rooney) - Jelevic
    Valencia - Ben Arfa
    Fergason - Cabaye
    -8 point hit

Leaves me with 7.0 in the bank. Opinions please?

If you have either Bale or VDV at the moment, stick with them. If you have neither and are set on getting one in, get VDV imo.

I have neither and was going on a coin toss! was edging towards VDV as iv had bale, think your right though!:)

Already have Bale so that made my decision for me, would probably pick VdV if I didn't have either.

The question for me is Mata or Dempsey. Mata has slightly better fixtures but Dempsey is guaranteed to play. A tough one.

ramires or raul mereiles hardly worth a punt ? they wont be saving themselves for the champs league with their suspensions so should get a good bit of game time ?

Bosingwa guarenteed two games for the double everyone reckon?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,081 ✭✭✭GetWithIt

Have to transfer out Walcott. Have unlimited funds (15M), otherwise I'll be playing Stephen Ireland during the DGW (GW 33 transfer fail).

    Stoke - No options.
Bolton - Already have Petrov. Pass.
Chelsea - FA + Champions League finals make everyone a rotation risk. Pass.
Liverpool - Gave Steve G a thought. He's missed the last couple of games and is probably a rotation risk before the FA cup final. Relegation form. Pass.
Fulham - Dempsey the obvious choice. With Pog back fit I'd fancy them to score. However they have tough fixtures, both this DGW and through to the end of the season.
Everton - Good fixtures this DGW and next. Pienaar has always been a favorite of mine and may get the nod. If only he took corners, etc.
Tottenham - Have great fixtures this DGW and through to the end of the season. Have relegation form and a glut of injuries. Bale - BAE's injury would push him to left back based on the equivalent last year. Pass. VdV - Plays and scores big but only if Adebayor plays. Wait till Friday.
Newcastle - THE form team. Tough fixtures this DGW and through to end of season. I already have Cisse and Simpson so may be best to hedge away from Newcastle. My nearest rival (-50 points) has Barfa so could get him in just to spite him and play it safe. By the same token there's no point in getting Cabaye.

    Needed to write that down.

Should be in with a good shout

1st game definitely - Ivanovic and Luiz suspended gives a backline of :
    cole/bertrand - terry - cahill(if not injured) - bosingwa

Luiz back for the second game, dont know if either luiz or cahill would be viable rightback options to challenge him.

Larsson is going to miss Sunderland's last three games.

Danny Rose will probably play left back. Spurs need Bale in attacking areas. I agree that VDV is the better option but I'd be very surprised if Bale played left back.

Is a 12 point hit ridiculous??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,936 ✭✭✭AdpRo

    VDV for Theo
    Jellyfish for Tevez

4 point hit, thinking of getting in Hibbert for McAuley or Lescott but not sure if it's worth another 4 point hit.

Switched Mcclean for Cabye, only to see he's now showing up as injured (ankle) 75%chance of playing

Best bet to leave transfers til late this week I think. Im hanging on til Fri night/Sat morning. Price changes aren't really a worry now for most people

Happy days, that means all the assists should hopefully go to BArfa :D:D

Had planned to bring in BAE but am glad I waited. The obvious replacement is Walker.

BUT, now I'm thinking with so many Spurs defenders out injured they will be weaker than usual at the back. Might leak a goal or two which is botches up CS points.

Might I be better off concentrating on attackers instead of the defensive transfer?

Thats what Im thinking. Unless you already have a DGW defender then you're probably better off focusing on mids and forwards. I only had BAE as my defensive DGW player but now I will have none. Im happy enough having Caulker, Turner and Verm at the back. There is a chance however that Everton might do well defensively this week. A risk that might pay off! Ha but also a risk Im not willing to take :p

thinking the exact same myself. i want to get walker but not sure if its worth it anymore. i have wildcard, but still no pioint if they are going to leak goals

I have Begovic, Simpson and Kelly (if fit) in defense for the DGW. Was just looking for a defensive boost because out of the three Simpson is likely to get one CS and Kelly is still doubtful.

Maybe Jags is an option from Everton but I'd rather an Everton attacker so it's Sagna V Stoke or take a punt on Walker.

If you have a wildcard it would definetely be worth it to get in Walker or an Everton defender for the double gameweek plus they have decent fixtures after

Opinions on the attached please and maybe a sub to make that would be worth taking a 4 point hit for.

BAE's news really didn't help me. Plus Cahill injuring himself was an issue as well. I ditched BAE in favour of Hibbert.

I've a 30 point deficit to make up in my money league so I'm looking at differentials to my rivals team...

Arghh, it's turned into a bloodbath. I've hemorrhaged £1m in the last week in team value. Down to £110.6m

You will be lucky to get close to the average with that team going into the Double GW. None of your attackers are on a double GW, you don't have Dempsey... this could be season ender for you!

GAAAHHH! I'm tempted to take a 4 point hit now.

At the moment my 2 FT's are:
    Dempsey > Silva
    Jellyfish > Rooney

But now I'm thinking of Pienaar in for McClean for a 4 point hit. I was sort of thinking of getting him in next week anyway but should I do it now at a loss of 4? Pretty tight at the top of one of my paid leagues.

And what's the deal with Stephen Kelly? The site is saying he's expected back. With JEvans (doubtful) and Taiwo on my bench I'm not that confidant of scoring over 1/2 points with either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,174 ✭✭✭Dearg81

Kelly was on Newstalk the other night saying he thinks he should be fit for the weekend, he has a broken hand I think. Thinking of getting Pienaar in too, he has the form and fixtures with Wolves to come next week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 378 ✭✭John83

If I take him in for the 4 point hit, Valencia will drop to the bench.

So I'd need him to score 6 points or more to make it worth it (Valencia will probably score a min of 2).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

I want to get rid of Sessgnon or Song (4 point hit) for a DGW midfielder but I dont know who

I have Bale, Dempsey & Sigurdsson, I will be playing 4 in midfield and I have 9.5m in the bank. I can afford any player but WHO??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,734 ✭✭✭Fowler87

Second 8 point hit of the season to bring in Terry (too much chance with Bos), Howard and VDV. Out comes Kompany, Vorm (served me well:o) and Valencia. Make that definite 5 possibly 6 players for the double GW now. However wouldnt surprise me if Sess, Kun, RVP and Siggy outscore them all:pac:

    Out - Walcott

In: Lampard, Mata or Ben Arfa

3rd in my league with 20 points seperating us. Guy in 2nd has Ben Arfa, neither of them have a chelsea player.
Just concerned that Lampard and Mata may not play 90 mins of both games?

    Thoughts please....and thanks

Cahill will be taking it easy and concentrating on the CL Final. I'd be amazed if he plays in both games. I'd be surprised if he even plays in one.

I'm debating whether or not to leave him in my first 11 or put in Caulker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,788 ✭✭✭Benimar

    Would appreciate opinions on this.

The conventional wisdom is not to take a points hit for a defender, but I'm thinking that it may be warranted in this case. My 5 defenders are Shawcross, McAuley, BAE, Kompany & Evans. I had planned to play the first 3, but BAE is now out for the season.

This means bringing Kompany in, which I'm not too keen on this weekend and without a transfer will leave me with 4 defenders next week.

Logically, if I assume that Man City will concede, I should transfer out BAE for a DGW player, shouldn't I? If Kompany gets 2 points, and my DGW player gets 6 I break even and I'm not carrying BAE to the end of the season (I want 2 transfers for GW38).

Does this make sense, or am I just trying to justify it to myself?

I'm thinking the same thing, its not that big a gamble cos if the defender you bring in doesnt keep a clean sheet he is still likely to get 4 points. I think Terry might be the best bet.

Might you be better off with an Everton defender (Jag or Hibbert) as after the DGW Chelsea have Liverpool away while Everton have Wolves away
