advice about toning specific areas

    so, i realise that in order to lose weight from a specific area you need to lose weight from everywhere.
    im just wondering if some excercise would be more beneficial for certain parts of the body?

    i have put on about a stone since christmas and unfortunately mostly around my stomach, i have a right spare tyre going on :(

    i have just started the couch 2 5k, is there any other excercise that would help specifically target this area? cycling swimming etc. im willing to try them all!!

    ( oh and im not that old!! mid 30's, 5'5'' and 10 1/2 stone )

    Not being funny, but table push backs ;)

    As your stated goal is to lose weight, your diet and the number of calories you consume daily/weekly will have the biggest impact on your success.

    You need to work out your approximate daily calorie requirements (maintenance calories) and then create a deficit of around 500 calories daily. And remember to recalculate your calorie requirements as your weight drops, because the lighter you get the lower your maintenance calorie figure will be.

    Sort your diet out to lose weight. Exercise to look good naked :)
