Mint DEs some work, some don't

    Threw Mint 12 on a laptop in work (Toshiba Satellite Pro SPM30) , installed Cinnamon but it's not working, so I tried some of the other options in the login menu:
    Cinnamon - doesn't work
    Gnome - doesn't work
    Gnome Classic - works
    Gnome Classic (no effects) - works
    MATE - works

    When I say doesn't work I mean no window decorations, no menu bars, icons and right click menu only (so I have to Ctrl Alt Backspace or use the terminal shortcut)

    Just wondering why the first two options aren't displaying, I installed the nVidia drivers...
