Good ideas for light food right before exercising

    I know there's been threads for what food to eat before exercising before, but im looking for some ideas for healthy food that I can eat right before exercising...I like to exercise as soon as I get out of bed, and hate having to sit around waiting for food to digest.:)

    Bananas always work for me! Nothing too heavy.

    I don't think it's recommended to eat anything straight before a work out unless its at least an hr before hand.

    eating straight before a work out can cause stitches

    I agree with this,I had a banana once before a workout and did not feel well at all for most of the time I was in the gym but everyone's different.

    Well if you want something light before exercising then these might be ideal with sliced tomatoes or whatever on them, I usually go for these before I do the weights. And they are nice.

    I just get up and go! I manage an hour cycling / exercise DVD straight out of bed without food. I find if I eat I get a stitch!

    Think it depends on your tolerance, I can't stomach much right after I wake up, but when I workout in the evening.... A banana always does me good, with a tiny bit of sugar free pb, energy a-bounding. But once made the mistake of having bran flakes before a run :eek:
