Oh .... Not very promising, is it? :(

So we have a Z list celebrity talking about his brother's cancer.

A former footballer talking about his daughter's muscle weakening disease.

And families of dead children talking about hospice care.

Christ, this is the misery quota for an entire month in one show.
While the topics are all very worthy, Saturday night is hardly the time to air them.

Whoever is responsible for "light entertainment" in RTÉ should be first in line for the proposed cuts in Montrose.

As for the three entrepeneurs. I'm getting a bit sick of all this hero worship for those who happen to do well in business.
Good luck and well done, but come back to me when you've found a cure for cancer.

At least then we won't have to put up with Peter Andre.

Fine Gael TD Michelle Mulherin has been added to the Guestlist. She hit the headlines during the week for her comments on 'fornication' during the Dáil debate on the Abortion Bill

    http://www.independent.ie/national-news/mulherins-fornication-stance-progressive-says-colleague-3087873.html
Ms Mulherin described "fornication", or consensual sex between an unmarried couple, as the biggest cause of unwanted pregnancy.

She raised eyebrows with her use of the archaic phrase during a debate on abortion legislation. "Fornication, I would say, is probably the single most likely cause of unwanted pregnancies in this country," she said this week.

If we still had a monarchy she could go and
    fornicate
    under the
    consent of the
    king
    with herself.

was watching an eppisode of gay laughs back or something recently where they showed various clips of old late late shows

on one show from the late seventies , gay had on fred astaire ( legendary hollywood actor and dancer ) sitting on the same couch as peter ustinov , himself a renonwed actor and legendary racantour

on another clip , he had actor peter sellers sitting next to sir mat busby

now i ask myself , was ireland richer in the late seventies than now that RTE could afford such giants of entertainment and sport or was GAY a giant who could lure such greats to our shores , the decline is shocking

Yes, so would the decline in talking abilities of all four men. They are very dead. The world is a far smaller place, A-listers can do a Leno and a Norton (throw in an Oz show for safety) and they have covered the English speaking world.
BTW, from the same period, Oliver Reed attempting to rape Susan George live on air was interesting. Actually Oliver Reed needs a greatest hits compendium of his various chatshow appearances (they'd all be over-18).

The Guest Lists were generally better in the 70s and 80s, but people tend to look back on those times with rose tinted glasses.

There were a lot of mind numbingly boring shows then too, but they got away with it because there was little or no alternative channels available.

not sure what the world being a smaller place has to do with RTE,s ability to attract big names as guests on thier weekend chat shows ?

when has tubs ever had as big a name as peter sellers on his show ?

i remember gay having bill murray on in the mid nineties , he had billy connolly on every other week , he would be considered a huge catch for the late late show now

Good promo for the show from André.

The TD one was spot on by the way. Abstinence works. Either that or put a rubber on FFS...:)

    Obvious troll is obvious :D

Peter Andre and Mullhern look like a suitable pairing on a panel show of the quality of Brendan O' Connor's, don't you think?

What are the odds of Mulhern and Peter André fornicating in the green room?

Hang on, André just gave the intro before the ads.

I reckon its O'Connor and Mulhern back in the green room.

O'Connor's been forced to play the abortion card like Tubbs last night. Looks like the the Stickies are back in control of RTE...

It is a desperate attempt by Mulheirn to get the Holy Joe vote next time around, because FG certainly won't hold on to 4 seats.

Reminds me of John Cleese or a Monty Python character dressed up as a woman both in how she looks and what she says.

    Or the Three Nualas.

hmmnmm. So Mulhern was catapulted on to the Sat Nite Show at short notice... Methinks that RTE were under pressure from Ronán Mullen and his ilk, because of the pro choice agenda that fawning sycophant Tubridy was driving last night.. I'd say this is to counter that segment so that they dont get in trouble with the BAI... AGAIN..
