I haven't watched it in over a year...the mad crazy decisions just made me run for the hills...is it worth going back and watching the last few weeks impact or not?

I've only seen Aries/Bully Ray and Angle/Styles (both of which were really great) but this looks like the PPV that TNA were desperately in need of for quite a while.

It was quite a good ppv, I enjoyed the wrestling loads (although it doesnt seem like it going by my twitter feed).
Nearly had a clean sweep on the predictions too only for
Austin Aries and Earl hebners botch.
    :(

For the first time one on one in what I believe is four years (they were the final two in a Steel Cage Gauntlet match in '09 but that doesn't really count) Angle vs. Joe is set for this weeks iMPACT!.

Should be good that, but I hope it doesn't mean the end of Joe/Magnus already. Looking forward to watching Sacrifice wednesday nite.

If TNA were to get behind a tag division of Styles and Angle, Kaz and Daniels, The Guns, and Joe and Magnus for a few months it would be very tremendous.

Welcome to the BWA Raw preview show!

    Roman Reigns vs Kazuchika Okada
Kenta Kobashi & Mitsuahru Misawa vs The Usos
    Dusty Rhodes vs Jesse Ventura
The Godfather & Val Venis vs
Superfly Jimmy Snuka & The Wild Somoans vs

Press conference to address the state of the BWA in 2018

BWA Bounty Hunter opens the show, says he has some huge announcements as the draft season kicks off including the one that has seen this huge international crowd of reporters gather here today but before all of that I would like to address something. He then calls forward his broadcast colleagues Dusty Rhodes & Jesse Ventura.
It had been announced that both men had been cleared to return to the active roster a while back and it was believed that the previous years announce team were waiting in the wings to take over from them. This even played into last months world title feud when Roman Reigns took issue with some of the announcers calls and characterizations of him. The Big Dog tried to put Dusty in his place at the announce desk but the American Dream in the ring is who he got instead and the fans ate it up. Unfortunately however after a superman punch and a Spear saw to it that Reigns retained and unfortunate side product had been that Dusty wasn't the most talkative about the world champion and Ventura had been needling at him over it ever since on air.

Bounty Hunter highlights these as reasons why the current announce team should not continue in it's normal form and confirms that from this moment forth both men are returning to the talent pool and leaving the announce desk.

*Dusty looks like he believes this to be an opportunity while Ventura reacts as if he is being forced to do something against his will.*

Bounty Hunter tries to swiftly move on from this saying as one duo leaves he wanted to announce the introduction of another team to the BWA, a team that will not only be returning home to the WWE but will be bringing with them one of the biggest names in the business...
Interrupted by the music of Roman Reigns

Reigns' can be seen mouthing the words "Big Dog big dog big Dog" to his own theme tune as he makes his way out the the ring area where the press conference is being held. He grabs a Microphone.

Roman Reigns: Hey BH hasn't anyone every told you not to tug on superman's cape. I told you i'd announce them when I told you to draft them, don't be a chump and respect the champ (he shines up the belt over his shoulder).

BH: umm I think there has been a misunderstanding Mr Reigns...

*BH starts whispering something to Reigns who begins to look more annoyed than his previous jovial approach had shown*
    tumblr_o6eg2pUYsl1ri1l5wo1_400.gif

Roman Reigns: What Japanese team? who is this biggest name in the industry? Who are you overlooking Roman Reigns for ?!

BH: umm Roman I think your taking this the wrong way, of course we had planned to have the world champ on the press conference

Roman Reigns: nah you wanted to see a new tag team debut Bounty and you know what you have the biggest dog in the yard right here... *starts shoving BH who actually climbs into the ring to get away from him*.... and I am happy to oblige and inform you that the BWA, this here big Dod's yard is situated adjacent to that there ring or as I know it...The Uso Penitentiary!

*Suddenly the Usos appear out of nowhere in the ring and hit a double superkick on BH*
    RzXWp.gif

Reigns slowly gets into the ring and then as BH starts to get back to his feet the Big Dog slingshots himself off the ring ropes and BOOM! Spear!

BH looks like he is knocked out completely in the center of the ring as roman stand over him and with both Usos either side of him is passed a Microphone
    [img][/img]

Roman Reigns: I don't care who the BWA have signed, I don't care where they come from, or what they have done in the past. I am Roman Reigns, the world champion and this is my yard and my family and nothing can stop us!

*he then drops the mic and the 3 leave together as abruptly as they had arrived*

I asked Dusty Rhodes who should join him in the BWA in this celeb round as that is something we do now and he had this to say
A female BWA back stage interviewer is standing by with Dusty Rhodes.
"You see the thing you wanna know about that baby, is who exactly now do the people want to being seeing, who be putting those posteriors in seats baby. Now if your talking Box Office Dollar bills well them heroes are still pulling in the big bucks, So what the American Dream has done honey is gone out and gotten the original ratings smashing hero who always knew who to give any dastardly heels a good biff! bam! wallop! baby

    Welcome to the BWA Raw!
    Live from Gotham City

Dusty Rhodes: Welcome to this BWA Raw special baby, American dream in the house here with my boys Nigel McGuinness and Jesse "The Body" Ventura
Jess Ventura: That's right dream, we are coming to you live tonight from Gotham City for one special reason guys and gals, it's the pre-draft "State of the BWA" press conference!
Nigel McGuinness: Well everyone it looks like we aren't going to have to wait long for things to get started, here comes the representative of the board BWA's own Bounty Hunter headed to the ring.

**Reporters surround the ring on most sides, on one side BWA officials now joined by BH gather with microphones etc are set up to prep people to enter the ring**

Bounty Hunter: Before I get into the business of the press conference and introducing the BWA roster for 2018's draft season the board of directors has asked me to deliver this message to our very talented announce team.
He then turns and addresses them directly as the camera catches their surprised responses.

Bounty Hunter: All three of you have been cleared for in ring action for some time now and as a result the board have decided that as of today you will all return to the talent pool as part of the active roster!
    tumblr_n4v9s0pedU1qzx3jto1_500.gif

Ventura: Yes, I've been itching for a fight for months now!
McGuinness: Are you feeling okay old timer? You really think your ready to take on the best of today?
Dusty: Ohh Yeah! I thought the Dream had died last night baby but you can't keep a good thing down, I'm back baby!
You BWA Faithful of course are aware that Dusty is referring to how he faced off against Roman Reigns at last night's PPV after the Big Dog had been irked by some of Dusty's commentary about him and challenged him to back up his actions and face him in the ring. Although Reigns did put his BWA World title on the line, as the Dream's comments tonight indicate it wasn't his night and a Superman punch and a Spear saw to that.

**Ventura looks annoyed at McGuinness (something which had been common during commentary) as the 3 men depart the announce table and look to be heading to the back after BH announces they will be replaced by the BWA's announce team from last years BWA WrestlePalooza**
Bounty Hunter: And yes the board would like to also acknowledge that some announcements have been already leaked before today's press conference including two high profile returns to the company and the reason we are currently right here in Gotham City (Cheap Pop!).
---He is of course refering to a TMZ report that went viral where new BWA investor Bruce Wayne was spotted dining out with a number of BWA high ranking officials and multi time former BWA Stars Mitsuharu Misawa and Kenta Kobashi---

Bounty Hunter: It is true Bruce Wayne will be here a little later on! (big pop!) but trust me that is not the only surprise lined up for you!
Just then he is interrupted by the unmistakable music of Roman Reigns

**Reigns emerges to quite a mixed but loud response from the crowd and intrigued reporters in attendance and can be seen mouthing the words "Big Dog big dog big Dog" to his own theme tune as he makes his way out to the ring area and grabs a mic**
Roman Reigns: Do I need to remind you to respect the champ and don't be a chump? I told you i'd announce their arrival myself in my own time and your starting to get on my nerves little man... you don't tug on superman's cape if you can't handle the consequences.

BH: umm I think there has been a misunderstanding Mr Reigns I was referring to returning superstars...
*BH starts whispering something to Reigns who begins to look more annoyed than his previous jovial approach had shown*

Roman Reigns: Mitsubishi? Kenta, you mean that small fellah from NXT! whose this friend of theirs your talking about! biggest name in the Industry...damn boy you know your looking at the champ right, you know your standing in my yard right!

    BH: *GULP*
    tumblr_o6eg2pUYsl1ri1l5wo1_400.gif

BH: umm Roman I think your taking this the wrong way, of course we had planned to have the world champ on the press conference

Roman Reigns: nah you wanted to see a new tag team debut Bounty and you know what you have the biggest dog in the yard right here...
**Roman starts shoving BH who backs into the center of the ring to get away from him**

Reigns:.... and I am happy to oblige and inform you that the BWA, this here big Dog's yard, is situated adjacent to that there ring or as I know it...The Uso Penitentiary!
**Suddenly the Usos appear out of nowhere in the ring and hit a double superkick on BH**

    RzXWp.gif

slowly as BH starts to get back to his feet the Big Dog Roman Reigns then slingshots himself off the ring ropes and BOOM! Spear!
**BH looks like he is knocked out completely in the center of the ring as roman stand over him and with both Usos either side of him, one of them pass Roman a Microphone**

Roman Reigns: I don't care who the BWA have signed, I don't care where they come from, or what they have done in the past. I am Roman Reigns, the world champion and this, this is my yard and my family, and nothing can stop us!
**Reigns drops the mic and the 3 leave together as abruptly as they had arrived while the ringside reporters go crazy, Reign's even leaving his title behind**

    56d21c95570c664414fd231fbd6cbacb.jpg

**BWA officials at ringside scramble to work out how to continue the press conference broadcast but in the time being we get this**

    17e7de3f3b71c36416a728016f70e375--los-simpson-por-favor.jpg

Around 30 seconds later the feed returns with Dusty Rhodes stood microphone in hand in the center of the ring.
Dusty: I may be part of the broadcast team no longer baby, but I gotta wish my boy BH a speedy recovery and as they say in the biz with all that glitz and glamour, The show must go on Baby so now the American Dream is going to guide you through the rest of this press conference. First up we have a native son to these here...

uh Oh! here we go again - Roman Reigns' music hits again!

Roman Reigns, the big Dog, comes down to the ring re-enters it and walks right up to the man he defeated in last nights PPV main event (Dusty Rhodes) the two have a momentary staredown before Roman mouths something about his world title and looks to head to opposite side of the ring to collect it... instead however he catches everyone including Dusty off guard by charging the ropes before returning at speed to catch Rhodes with an almighty Spear!!
    tenor.gif?itemid=8633118

Reigns picks up Dusty's Mic, looks at his fallen foe then looks around at the booing crowd with a smirk before addressing them
Reigns: The American Dream is dead! I killed it!

that is all he says before dropping the mic and leaving this time with his title in toe. The Camera lingers on Dusty laid out in the ring for a moment while BWA officials once again scramble for what to do next.
**they quickly cut the feed again but this time it is only for a matter of moments when we return it's to a video highlighting the last few months in BWA's tag division **

it mostly highlights how Val Venis & The Godfather had become tag champions.
It's 2018 and the Godfather has gotten with the times. No longer does he refer to women as Hos, nor himself as a pimp, but has all that much changed since he teamed up with Val Venis to put a slightly cleaner image on his facade? Now he has a group of Model's escort him to the ring, ladies he has under contract to his and Val's production company. These models however have been accused of not being the classiest of ladies and the video highlights how members of the BWA's womens division have not taken to well to their appearances in the company...

Suddenly the video cuts out as we return to the press conference, now standing in the ring is Nick Bockwinkel
    bock1sm.jpg
Nick Bockwinkel: Welcome back grappling aficionados, this is the segment of the show where civility is returned as a new element of class comes to the BWA in the form of me Nick Bockwinkel and before I get too far ahead of myself I'd like to be the first to comment on that impactful statement by Roman Reign's and The Usos. It takes a true champion (shows off the AWA belt he carries with him) to recognize a true champion and Roman, you have my respect.
**The crowd seem ready to turn on this long time roster member of one of the BWA's biggest rivals**

Bockwinkel: Now now, I know you see me and you think, handsome, charismatic, talented, in ring genius but there is so much more to the only ever Draft Hall of Famer than that. You see the reason I have this ring (close up on his HOF ring) is that I have done it all in this industry, I have reached the very peaks this industry has to offer and forgotten more about wrestling than most of you will ever know.
**He has never even competed in the BWA before and the crowd know it and begin to boo everything he says**

Bockwinkel: I know I know, you guys aren't the best but it's okay because you have me now, the BWA board have decided to appoint me as their new on air representative in Bounty Hunter's stead. Hey don't boo Bounty Hunter, I know he got in the champs way but that guy was the reason we came to this dump (Gotham City). Speaking of which I've been told to placate you all after after BH's mistake and introduce our next guest, one of your own, except you know rich so better than you all...Bruce Wayne
    s3ebE6u.jpg

Gotham's favorite son gets a huge response from the press and fans in attendance when he comes out but he does not seem to be as pleased with the man who just called him out

Bruce Wayne: I don't know what your playing at here Bockwinkel, you know I've invested in this company and if you want to be the boards representative here you'd better cut out what I would describe as some of your more dastardly nay dare I say heelish ways.

Bockwinkel: I'm just speaking the truth like only a true Draft Hall of Famer can man.

Bruce Wayne: Your such a rapscallion, you know that ring means nothing here in the BWA but I don't have the time to deal with you, this company won't be in Gotham next week but right now I have my cities press here and a message to give so please...
**Bockwinkel looks annoyed but backs out of the ring**

Wayne: You see Gotham, I got a call from the man that cleaned up our city, that's right THE BATMAN! and he told me that he had sources telling him that some of his rogues had been hiding out right here in the BWA! Now I don't know if it's The Penguin, That Riddle loving fellow or even The Joker but he cited some guy called Dave Meltzer as stating he was sure at least one of them had been masquerading as a wrestler recently.
    C-uOZj-WAAAgJE9.jpg

Wayne: The BWAs next PPV and a lot of the TV building to it emanates out of Quohog Rhode Island where the Mayor is a close personal friend of mine. We people of Gotham cannot allow our bad eggs to infest other fine cities like his and for that reason I am gifting him this
**He unveils a big spotlight with the bat symbol across it**

Wayne: If Gotham's Villainy rears it's disingenuous head here in the BWA... Batman will be ready!
**The Crowd Pop big for the mere mention of Batman**

Wayne: Speaking of said Villainy, I know you have also been approached by people associated with Organized crime with regards investment, even tonight I see Don Corleone's man Luca Brasi sat here at ringside
**The camera focuses on the former columbo family enforcer in the front row of the crowd**

Wayne: But I want it to be known that If Don Falcone or any member of Gotham's criminal element get involved with the company, the BWA will lose my backing. Unfortunately however bat fans we are running a little bit behind schedule with this State of the BWA address so without further adieu It is my great pleasure to introduce a man that represents a simpler time, when all pro wrestlers could be admired...George Hackenscmidht

Hackenscmidht and Bruce Wayne look like old friends as they embrace each other as the man who helped usher in the Golden Age of professional wrestling replaces him in the ring and on the mic.

He has brought something with him too as the announcers point out his book "The Way To Live: In Health and Physical Fitness "
George Hackenschmidt: Did you hear that people? how the announcers introduced me... as part of the Golden Age of professional wrestling? Now Look, I know i'm shilling my book here people but the Golden Age sounds like it was when the wrestlers were probably at their peak so you can't blame the BWA for promoting wrestlers being healthy and physically fit. In my day Wrestling was the most popular sport world wide and it can be again but the wrestlers need to take the sport seriously.

**As soon as he said that there is a loud POP noise **

From this point onwards his Microphone starts to act up - at first he is heard with a helium style funny squeaky voice

Hackenschmidt: Too many wrestlers don't treat this industry with the gravitas it deserves... hey! what's going on!
**Carnival music begins to play as everyone seems to be snickering at the legend**

Now annoyed his voice continues to be distorted now in a comical almost slow mo style

Hackenschmidt: This is not a laughing matter!
**As he said that he slammed the mic down on the podium he had in front of him and Puff a load of smoke accompanies a loud BANG from the impact**

When the smoke dissipates a small single red balloon can be seen floating above the podium, attached to it via a small piece of string is a floating note which George cannot help but reach out, unfurl and read aloud
Why So Serious? This is just a joke :)

Before anyone could even contemplate what this means however everyone's attention is diverted away from the front of the ring where the podium was set up and the smoke and balloon had been, to the back of the ring where seemingly out of nowhere a huge (6Ft4) figure emerged dressed in full Doink! regalia!
    091033406d093676d3dfb516dbb0f6f3--doink-the-clown-clowns.jpg

Completely unaware Hackenschmidt was caught with a hellacious Lariat from the big clown who then proceeded to stomp on the fallen legend until
the several extra BWA security personal, who had been brought in after the earlier incidents rushed the ring and together were eventually able to force to big man outside the ring and usher him to the back while the broadcast suddenly cut back to Nick Bockwinkel at the opposite side of the ring.

Bockwinkel: umm... I guess that is what you could call an unexpected look into what may be coming our way in the BWA over the draft season there, but now while we get our in ring press conference area back in order why don't we look forward to something the BWA audience know they have coming their way this year and... the return of El Santo!

We are then shown a short video highlighting the career of El Santo, including his previous stint in the BWA. It mostly showcases how much of a hero to the people of Mexico he is. How "the Saint" El Santo was a folk hero and a symbol for justice. A point punctuated by the great man himself when the video culminated with him talking to the fans
El Santo: Talk of Villainy in the BWA has reached the shores of my homeland but I want to assure all of mes amigos out there this has not gone unnoticed. I have finished filming my Pixar Coco spin off movie and from next week anyone acting heelish in the BWA will have El Santo to answer to!
We are then treated to a first look trailer at the BWA Films/Pixar joint
    be00f8f488676dfb20e4ea5727cb7fc1.jpg

We return to the ring and D-Lo Brown is stood in the ring with a microphone
D'Lo: I am supposed to introduce to you a video showing the strength of the BWA's womens division but I am sorry ladies, this is the first time this company has given me a mic since I was drafted to this show and I have something to say!

D'Lo: I've wrestled all around the world and been a success, whether that was with the WWE where I won the European and Intercontinental titles, TNA where I won tag titles, or when I was in ROH or Japan. If you don't want me here then trade me! I was the longest active member of the Nation of Domination... i'd be far better off back by Farooq and cos side than here sitting on the sidelines!
**He drops the Mic and walks off before the video about the BWA women plays anyway**

    mqdefault.jpg
The video focuses firstly focuses on the Woman who wrestled for the BWA last year and how two former team mates had been feuding for the past year over the womans title in the form of Aja Kong and former champion Manami Toyota. Toyota has been shown to have earned Kong's respect after their last bout but Aja says her quest for the BWA womens title is not over. Similarily to our previous video however this one ends with a pre-taped interview from the BWA's newest female star...Naomi!
Naomi: Aja, Manami... be warned! I'm coming to be like, like my family, i'm coming to be the best, im coming to be...The Champ! and I have one simple question for you... Are you ready to feel the Glow?!

When we return from that we are unusually backstage, Why? because something else has gone wrong! D-Lo Brown Is shown lying in a pool of blood on the floor. The cameraman pans around to show a number of reporters asking assembled superstars what happened including Nigel McGuiness and Jimmy Snuka whom on later viewing people pointed out he had blood on his hands. Snuka's response to questions however was that he could not remember what happened.

We then return to ringside for the final part of the show and what many have speculated on social media Bounty Hunter was actual going to announce at the top of the show as BWA veterans Kenta Kobashi & Mitsuahru Misawa are called out to the ring to a great response from everyone especially because as they are being announced it is said that these two men who have spent more time in the BWA than any team have spent on any one draft promotion and this year will both become the first inductees into the BWA hall of Fame
**Nick Bockwinkel looks disgusted as he has to announce this**

They continue to run down both mens accomplishments in the business from the amount of 5* matches they had to how they had had massive singles success in the draft in the past (like how Misawa is a former MNG world champion), until the two men actually take microphones and stop them themselves. However when they then speak up it is not on their own behalf but instead on behalf of another, and speak they do, in both fluent Japanese and English after spending so much time in the promotion.
Kobashi: Thank you all for this incredible honor but tonight it is us who plan to honor all of you. We have brought you the best wrestler either of us have ever seen . Those announcers spoke about all of our supposed 5* matches well in that case this here is a 6 and 1 quarter star man.

    Misawa:

Kobashi: The current IWGP World Champion, who has held the belt for an astonishing 600+ days....Kazuchika Okada!
    Misawa: 今日のIWGPワールドチャンピオンは、600日以上の驚異的な出来高を誇っています....Kazuchika Okada!
    1c6ec2997b26ac922944d9096f867eb9.jpg

**At this point Kobashi/Misawa start taking turns translating Okada into English for the audience**

My name is Kazuchika Okada and I am a Professional wrestler. I defeated everyone I could in my native land and proved I was the best there was in Japan... I now relinquish my claim on the IWGP world championship, that is in the past for me now, I have come here to prove that I am not just the best in Japan but the best in the World!
**The final shot of the press conference is him handing over his title to a NJPW official at ringside and pointing out a big mock up of a BWA world title on a wrestlepalooza sign in the crowd to his two compatriots**

It is clear what he wants in his future but what about the current holder I doubt he will take too kindly to this intrusion in his yard as we kick off the draft season.

Welcome to the BWA King of The Ring Recap Show
    Live from Quohog, Rhode Island
    Previous Show

The show opens With Nick Bockwinkel in the ring
Bockwinkel: The road to WrestlePalooza is upon us and things are getting real serious here in the BWA, you may have seen the state the promotion was in at that press conference last month but there has been a big 4 PPV since then. Let this true Draft Hall of Famer catch you up...
**He points to the titantron and a video begins**

Bockwinkel: and let's start with the tag team division.
BWA Tag team Title match: The Usos vs The Godfather & Val Venis (c)
Since their arrival on the scene alongside Roman reigns (and Naomi the next night) the Usos run riot on BWA programming in recent weeks. When you later added Jimmy Snuka and his daughter Tamina into this family like faction you wouldn't be blamed in thinking they would have too much going on to also be no.1 contenders already, except in this case where they won that right last week by defeating the dysfunction former announce team of Jesse Ventura & Nigel McGuinness. As if they had needed further motivation both of their opponents in this match had run ins with Naomi. The Godfather offered her a modelling contract while Val asked her if he could feel her glow but got a low blow instead for his trouble. Strangely they didn't have any such interaction with Tamina :pac:

The Usos are impressive throughout and eventually prove their superiority but The Godfather & Val keep using Naomi's presence on the outside and interacting with her to distract the Usos in ring and on a number of occasions almost caught them with quick roll ups. The match's finish is a something of a familiar sight from the Usos recent tag bouts with a double superkick followed by the double Uce (Double diving splash) and the 1-2-3!

    Winners: The Usos
    1292d98a6901157f3489b86c6f633ae7284dfb86_hq.jpg

**We then return to Nick Bockwinkel in the ring but only momentarily**
Bockwinkel: Yes I get it, there are parts of that storyline incomplete from just seeing the Usos crowned new tag team champions, don't worry I wasn't the greatest AWA champ of all time just because I could wrestle rings around most of your heroes in the ring, well that and the fact that when I got you covered, you stay covered. Here is what you missed from Naomi, Tamina and the rest of the BWA womens lockeroom.
BWA Womens title match: Naomi vs Aja Kong vs Manami Toyota (c)
The Women's division from last years roster was torn apart by two women, Aja Kong and Manami Toyota. They had ran off everyone else and the womens title had consuming them both leading to an intense rivalry for the former tag partners. Before his injuries however Bounty Hunter had stepped in and announced that a new challenger would be declared for what is currently Manami Toyota's title at the state of the company press conference. After his injuries however Naomi debuted the next night on BWA Raw and they announced this triple threat match for the title at King for The Ring, with a cute tagline about who would be the Queen of the BWA ring. The following week on Raw when Aja Kong questioned why Naomi deserved a title shot and challenged her to a match Tamina debuted attacking her allowing Naomi to pick up the win. She had arrived too late to be in the match but Tamina being in Naomi's corner has given her a distinct advantage in many people's minds.

Unfortunately Naomi was not the only woman that had issues with The Godfather and Val Venis during these weeks. a "More cushion for the pushin" remark from Val Venis (which resulted in a hell of a slap) about Aja Kong along with The godfather and Manami Toyota having a run in has made the men who earlier on the show lost their tag titles quite unpopular with the ladies in the BWA. Perhaps even more unfortunate is that they want to get back on the Usos and plan to do so by targeting Jimmy uso's wife Naomi in this bout.

All 3 woman have their chances to win out here before the former tag champs appeared on the scene, in fact as they arrived on the scene it was Aja Kong who rolled out of the way of a Manami Toyota Moonsault at the last second and then with Naomi still on the outside after a prior attack, she seized her opportunity and hit the champ with her Brainbuster finish. With what the announcers call a veteran move Toyota rolls to the outside after the impact but Kong is straight after her. This is when The Godfather & Val Venis arrived to ringside where both women have just exited the ring at the end of the ramp. Kong tosses the prone champ back into the ring but then confronts the two men whom she recently came to blows with.

On the opposite side of the ring Tamina gets Naomi back to her feet before getting into the ring herself and as Toyota tried to get back up she (Tamina) catches her square on the Jaw with a Big Boot. She rolls straight out of the ring afterwards as Naomi has climbed to the top rope and just like her husband earlier she hits a big splash for the 1-2-3! while Aja Kong on the outside realizes too late what is happening on the inside and the male duos distraction means she cannot break up the pin before the 3

    Winner: Naomi
    tumblr_static_tumblr_static_40xqyxvkqg008kkgc0so8sggg_640.jpg

**We then return to Nick Bockwinkel in the ring **
Bockwinkel: Was a pretty good few weeks for that family eh? and that's before we even bring up the Big Dog Roman Reigns. Were not going to keep you waiting to see what happened to the man who last time you checked in was the BWA world champion however. Keep an eye out for a handsome hall of famer in this video (smirks)
BWA World Title Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs Dusty Rhodes
The American Dream Dusty Rhodes was never the most complimentary of Roman Reigns on commentary so much so that the champ wanted to fight him thinking he had besmirched his name. After a valiant effort Dusty came up just short and the next night when he was officially returned to the active roster (and removed from announcing duties) he thought he could hold his head up high proud of his effort and move on, but when Roman Reigns went out of his way to deliver a thunderous Spear to Dusty during the press conference that all changed. In particular Reigns claiming to have Killed the American dream lit a fire under Dusty that we hadn't seen for many a year. In his return match against D'Lo Brown Rhodes snapped and after beating Brown nearly unconscious called out the champ but instead he only got the newly appointed representative of the BWA Board Nick Bockwinkel.

In recent weeks Roman Reigns (who along with the Usos and Snukas had been running roughshod over the company) had been stating that new signings to the BWA such as Kazuchika Okada didn't deserve a shot at his title based solely on their reputation, that they had to earn a shot. This was something Bockwinkel agreed with and although he said he hated the thought of an overweight joke like Dusty being in his main event he did concede that the fans wanted the match and that the champ didn't have an issue with the match (Reigns is portrayed as arrogant in the build up having previously beaten his opponent) so agree to give him a rematch on one condition...

If Dusty Rhodes loses he can never have another shot at the BWA world title! Dusty agreed and here we are

This was an absolute slobberknocker knock out brawl where all Dusty's dislike for the arrogant champion he had shown on commentary and over the past few weeks flowed from him in the form of flying fists and bionic elbows.
    13423442_1009776859107430_1702983631_n.jpg?ig_cache_key=MTI3MDM0MDQ4ODUyMTgxMTU1MA%3D%3D.2.c

Dusty seems to push Reigns right to the limit but shockingly it's Roman who apparently sees the funny side to it when late on he starts reacting to Dreams big blows with a big grin on his face. Dusty thinks he has wiped the smile right off his fact when he locks in a figure four for a long time but No matter how hard he is hit or how just pain he has to endure Roman just works his way through it and keeps getting back up until.... BOOM! Superman Punch, but no he isn't happy with just one BOOM! a 2nd superman punch to set up BOOM! Spear.... and Reigns wins LoL!

    winner: Roman Reigns

Roman seems to be reveling in the crowds showering of boos upon him as The Usos and Naomi (all champions) come out and join his celebrations.

**Once again we return to Bockwinkel on the mic to introduce our next recap**
Bockwinkel: As usual Dream let his fans down as The big Dog continues to dominate, but not all the action of recent weeks took place in ring. In fact many of the most memorable moments we've had recently, especially since the company has been touring Quohog came in backstage segments. Let the great Nick Bockwinkel remind you all...

The first of these segments took place a number of weeks ago on Adam West's first night involved in the BWA. He had actually forgotten he was supposed to attend a BWA show that night and our BWA reporter had a horrid time just trying to get him to answer the door.
    celebrate-adam-wests-birthday-with-25-batman-and-family-guy-animated-gifs-image-22.gif

Later that night at the arena West stated that he did not need a special guests dressing room but he knew someone who could use it, even suggesting the room could be used to interrogate suspects. He signified the man he was of course eluding to by covering up a piece of paper with his name on it on the door with a Bat Logo sticker.

We actually got to see Batman (big pop from the crowd) in this room looking into West's big mirror later on. He is pondering aloud who on the BWA roster could be one of his rogues in disguise when Doink enters the room. Batman only had time to refer to him as a "Cantankerous Clown" and question what he was up to before Doink mimics Stephen King's IT saying he will feast on the caped crusaders fears before
**The lights suddenly go out (a la Bray Wyatt) while distorted carnival music plays**

When the lights return the audience view the scene from behind Doink's back seeing Batman and what he sees in the mirror except what he sees now is what he feared, none other that... The Joker!
    zqqD8K9.png

Batman looks frozen in fear as Doink/The Joker laughs maniacally before we cut away.

This is not the only time Doink and Batman were involved in such an altercation however there is a twist when they meet again in the same location for one of the first backstage segments of the King of The Ring PPV. This time Doink was not alone he was joined by Robert Swensen and when Doink tried to manifest and feast on Batman's fears this time not only did he see The Joker but also the huge intimidating frame of....Bane!
    NRiMyMM.jpg

in another Backstage segment Jesse Ventura was being interviewed about his upcoming KOTR quater final match up against kazuchika Okada. This interview however is interrupted by Nigel McGuinness Who laughs at Ventura thinking he can withstand the test of the best modern wrestler Japan had to offer. The former announce colleagues almost come to blows before McGuinness' music plays and he heads to the ring for his own KOTR match up.

However before we jump straight into the Tournament itself there was one last thing That Nick Bockwinkel owed us a retrospective on. An interesting look into his own run ins with soon to be Hall of Famers and perhaps surprisingly most recently of note the huge stir revolving around D'lo Brown and his contract!
Bockwinkel had obviously not taken too kindly to the return of Kenta Kobashi & Mitsuharu Misawa nor the fact that he was made announce it and their being honored as the first ever BWA Hall of Famers himself. The shine had been completely taken off his recent arrival in the company especially as he had been parading around claiming the be the only draft HOFer after his induction in a promotion last year. However he was not the only one who took a disliking to the returning fan favorites as world champion Roman Reigns saw them and their association with kazuchika Okada (who was after his world title) to be a thorn in his side.

Bockwinkel sided with the champ and not only did he make it so that Okada had to earn any shot at the champ by entering the KOTR tournament he also gave Roman's family The Usos a clear run at the tag titles by making on the Raw before the PPV Kobashi & Misawa face each other for the final spot in the KOTR tournament. They had wanted a shot at the tag belts but instead were the only people forced to compete in a qualifying match for a singles birth that also meant they would be unavailable for tag competition. Kobashi was victorious in a fight that could have gone either way but still shook his partners hand after truly having a lot taken out of him in the encounter.

Despite the positive conclusion of the encounter it wasn't what fans wanted to see but it was also no surprise, the surprise came when the video focused on D'Lo Brown and his antics at the PPV
    tumblr_ms7zvaL9cV1s83ffjo1_250.gif

D'Lo marched out to ringside just as he had done a few weeks earlier during the "State of the BWA" press conference and made his feeling known during the KOTR preshow main event segment. ....

D'Lo: I told you to either use me or lose me BWA, I gave you the deadline of the KOTR PPV Bockwinkle! so whats it going to be?
**out came Representative of the board, Nick Bockwinkel**

Bockwinkel: I'm sorry D'Lo. You see you were just never in the BWA boards plans. They don't see a spot for you at Wrestlepalooza so why put you on the card building to it?

D'Lo:No good, gawd damn... well then trade me already!

Bockwinkel: Ahh there's the thing, we can't do that either you see Bruce Wayne wasn't the only recent investor the promotion brought in. They needed the money and to be honest D'Lo we never drafted you... You were gifted to us by this investor, it's he who bought out your contract not the BWA so to be honest I couldn't trade you even if I wanted to.

**D'Lo looks dejected and a little confused before he responds**

D'Lo: but... who is this investor? who holds my contract?

Bockwinkle: I'll tell you and help you but you will have to promise to do something for me too.
**D'Lo clearly nods and seems like he would have agreed to anything but Bockwinkle takes him to the back to give him his answers in private**

The next night on Raw it was revealed that the investor in question was none other than Luca Brasi. The board has gotten involved with the mafia! how bad must money issues have been in the BWA this year for them to have gotten involed with Don Corleone's man.

BWA King of The Ring quarter final round

    Jimmy Snuka vs Kenta Kobashi

This bout started as a hard hitting affair with Kobashi argueably on top but D'Lo was hovering at ringside and after promising to prove to Nick Bockwinkel earlier he was worth having around Kenta didn't trust his presence at ringside. This distraction lead to an opportunity which Snuka took to dropkick an unsuspecting Kobashi and follow it up with his imfamous Superfly Splash for the win!

--One of the early favorites out, Kobashi looks like he wants to kill D'Lo who scurries to the back

    George Hakenschmidt vs Robert Swensen

This is old school grappler Hackenschmidt versus the man he thinks was the 6'2 clown who attacked him at the BWA press conference, except this time another clown in the form of doink plays a pivital point. He arrives at ringside mid match and leads the crowd in what Hakenchmidt finds to be a very distraction 20 count. When he gets to 0 the lights in the arena go out and his distorted carnival music plays. When the lights eventually return Swensen is now done up in his full Bane costume and looks like a Beast!

After a short armed lariat Bane Swensen then grabbed the legend of the golden age of Wrestling and hit a back breaker like the one he broke Batman's back with (a move I doubt was popular back in Hackenschmitd's day) for the 3 count.
    FPPJonc.jpg

--A surprise here no doubt but surely such shenanigans will be less prevalent in future rounds

    El Santo vs Nigel McGuinness

This is the match where Nigel transitions to a straight up heel from his previous more tweener leaning, he uses every underhanded tactic he can to gain an advantage against The true babyface El Santo but he just can't put him away. Suddenly when the tables were turned and he was placed in El Santo's La de a Caballo (Camel clutch) he was the one struggling to hang on. He looked like he was injured but still acted as a punk towards his opponent to the last which is why the crowd loved it when El Santo hit his Tope de Cristo (Diving headbutt) for the win.

-- A legend of Mexican wrestling moves on and we can expect another classic from him on this same show!

    Kazuchika Okada vs Jesse Ventura

No surprise here, although Ventura did his best. The match went over 20mins and the longer it went on the more the announce team kept referencing what Ventura's former announce partner Nigel McGuinness had to say earlier. As it seemed that Jesse could not keep up with the pace of his younger opponent and slowly but surely faded until he was easy pray for someone as accomplished as Okada. A perfect Dropkick is followed up by his Rainmaker Lariat and Kazuchika progresses.

---Okada moves to the next round but the story at this point may be with eliminated Ventura, can he still hang with the best of today?
**We are then shown the one relevant backstage promo to the next round of match ups**
We see Bane backstage with Doink and he asks him about Jimmy Snuka. Unfortunately however his clown chum informs him that Snuka is a man without fear and that in his next bout Robert Swensen would have to face off against The Superfly. **Lights Flash** suddenly he is no longer dressed in his full Bane gear as his music hits for his Semi-Final bout.
    Semi Final match-ups

    Jimmy Snuka vs Robert Swensen

Swensen when not seen as Bane does not come off half as intimidating but you can't help but note how impressive Snuka looks as he takes apart the big man who only a little earlier tonight had defeated the great George Hackenschmidt. He eventually gets the three count after his Superfly Splash but no doubt he would have been tested much more had he faced Bane instead of Swensen.

--- Jimmy Snuka will be hard to beat in the final after having had the easier route there and no doubt being the most rested

    Kazuchika Okada vs El Santo

This match goes well over 30mins on it's own and built to a finish which included many false finishes that could have gone either way. Eventually Okada gets the win here when he has to hit El Santo with not 1, nor 2 but 3 Rainmaker Lariats to ensure he stayed down but before then El Santo could have easily gotten the victory. A Victory which was almost tarnished when around the 30 minute mark Jimmy Snuka Had charged down to ringside and attacked both competitors. The way the announcers saw it whoever survived would not even be at 50% when they had to face him in the final.
    mqdefault.jpg

    KOTR Final match-up

Kazuchika Okada vs Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka

This match takes place only after the BWA doctor gives Okada a checking having already had nearly an hour in the ring. Snuka meanwhile is far fresher and uses this to his advantage as the final round bout progresses. He intentionally takes his time and tries to wear out his Japanese opponent but Okada uses his 3 matches in this one night to really show the American audiences watching at home why he was the IWGP champion so long and talked of as the best in the world. He fights a little like an underdog to begin with as a result but has the crowd on the edge of their seat be it with his selling or his comeback after which nobody questions his ability as it happens nearly 25m plus into this his 3rd bout with (this time) a fresher opponent who also attacked him in his last match.

A reversal by Okada into a jumping Tombstone piledriver no less makes the place go unglued and yet that was only the set up for his Rainmaker! Lariat for the win!

    Winner:
    Kazuchika Okada

Immediately after the match Okada extends his hand out to Snuka and helps him to his feet only for BANG! Superfly catches him with an unexpected head butt which causes him to stumbled back into the path of The Usos who had seemingly just appeared out of nowhere before CRACK! double superkick from them to Okada. Things get even worse though when **Roman Reigns' music hits** and The Big Dog Joining the party, first berating Okada whom Jimmy & Jey hold up while Roman with title in hand spits hot garbage at him about Okada not being on his level before backing up an HURAWW Spear!

King Okada looks to be heading to Wrestlepalooza to take on the champ but after watching this review of the past few weeks were not even sure if he will make it to Raw next week. Lucky for him it didn't get anyworse however as moments late Mitsuharu Misawa & Kenta Kobashi came charging down the ring with security behind them which lead to Reign's and his Family backing out of the ring and away from their adversaries... for now!

    Welcome to BWA Wrestlepalooza!

    D'Lo Brown vs Luca Brasi
Backstory, Dusty Rhodes night after KOTR reveals Luca Brasi as the mystery investor (perhaps on behalf of Don Corleone), D'Lo outs Brasi as a former wrestler Leonardo Passafaro and challenges him to a match, he says he is leaving money on the table with D'Lo, questions what the Don must think of such a waste of his money. only at the mention of Don Corleone does Brasi actually respond to Browns repeated call outs and agrees to a match at Wrestlepalooza in which if D'Lo wins he can become a free agent in control of his own contract but if he loses he will have to earn the wages in that contract working for Brasi who says he always does need a good shoe shine boy.
    250?cb=20101106124725

    Match details:

D'Lo Brown starts this one hot and comes at Brasi a million miles an hour. The man wants to be freed from his contract, he wants to control his own destiny and he sure as hell is going to fight tooth and nail in order to make that a reality. He looks like he could do it too after sweeping Don Corleone's enforcers leg and then leaping up to the top rope and delivering a big leg drop. However instead of going for a pin he instead heads back up to the top rope and tries for his "Lo Down" Frog splash. Brasi however gets his knees up and this is where things turn in the mafioso's favor.

Luca Brasi started by stomping down on him, then choking the life out of him before tossing him into the corner and repeatidly smashing him again and again with gargantuan right and left hooks. Finally he hit a devastating looking piledriver on Brown in the center of the ring laying him out. The Godfathers man looks in complete control as he stands over brown flexing and kissing his muscles when out of nowhere D'Lo rolls him up in a school boy and just about gets a 3count!

Everyone is stunned, Luca Brasi more than most as D'Lo Brown rolls to the outside and although still stumbling around selling his injuries starts to celebrate like crazy, he has just won back his livelihood!
    Winner:
    D'Lo Brown

    348hsub.png
Why I booked this? D'Lo is not leaving the promotion but now he finally has a story, he is the one man in the BWA who controls his own fate. He could walk whenever he chooses but there will always be something keeping him in the promotion not least his opponent tonight who (despite looking really impressive and the loss being really sold as a shock stolen win) will not be satisfied with the result and will no doubt do everything within his power to even the score.
    Naomi vs Tamina
    BWA Womens title match
    Backstory - Family Feud

Naomi celebrates, just like her Husband and the rest of her family she is a champion... Tamina, who pretends she is about to celebrate with Naomi before instead cracking her newly won title across her skull! speaking of family she says that Naomi only won the Title/match because of Tamina or due to Tamina not being in the triple threat. She also laughs at the idea that Naomi is like the rest of the family, Naomi from Florida, married into her family and only got into this industry because she could shake her booty. Tamina meanwhile was born into this business, She learned her craft at the wild samoan training center, her father is Hall of Fame legend, her cousin is none other than The Rock and hell she was the one who brought The Usos to the WWE main roster. She says that she is not only the most dominant women in their family but in the BWA as a whole and that if Naomi disagreed then she should face her at Wrestlepalooza to settle it!
    YcrQpxt.jpg

The Usos try to talk Tamina out of her course of action backstage on Raw saying that the family is stronger together but Tamina is adamant and tells Jimmy to get his wife to agree to the match (when they can settle their issues) or she will break her. Later that night in the middle of the ring Naomi displays and then signs a BWA women's' title match contract to face Tamina but the moment she does Tamina rushes the ring and catches the champ with a big boot then not once, nor twice but 3 times drives Naomi's shoulder into the corner ring post before herself signing the contract. The match is on but the champ had to be helped out of the ring by medical personal, will she be 100% when she defends her championship at Wrestlepalooza?

    match details:

This is the classic match up of power vs speed, strenght vs agility and The Uso vs Snuka sides of "The Family faction. At one point we cut backstage to where the rest of the faction is sat together watching the match and after a thunderous slap from Naomi to Tamina, Tamina's father Jimmy Snuka gets to his feet looking incensed as if he is about to take matters into his own hands and head to the ring but Jimmy (Naomi's Husband) blocks his path. Snuka looks like he is about to snap and murder Jimmy but Roman Reigns signals for them to let it go and Snuka abides by the big Dawgs ruling.

In ring this match and Tamina in particular surprise many and most point to one huge spot to illustrate this. It sees a Tamina big boot knock Namoi to the outside and then when the champ is lying prone trying to catch her breath Tamina shocks everyone by climbing to the top rope and successfully performing a superfly splash to the outside!

This actually gets a "Holy sh!t, Holy Sh!t" chant from the fans but despite Tamina hitting the move both women are hurt by it and it's actually the champion Naomi who somehow gets back to her feet first and rolls back into the ring. At this point that the ref begins a 10 count and it is clear just how much that move has taken out of the challenger as she really struggles to get back to her feet and only just about gets back into the ring just before being DQ. Unfortunately for her though, so desperate she is to get back into the ring that she walks straight into a Naomi superkick which she then follows up with a Split-legged moonsault for the 3 count and title retention.

    Winner:
    Naomi
    s-l300.jpg
Why book this ? - Simply put Naomi is the better wrestler of the two but the amount of backstory between the former Team BAD members, what with Tamina having managed the Usos before and both being extensions of the Islander "Family" stable as well as Tamina being Naomi's muscle when she won the title meant this match just made sense while also allowing the other (arguably better than Tamina) women on the roster. Thats why Naomi had to win but the way it went down Tamina still looks strong and gets a big moment that not many would usually associate with womens title matches. Naomi could now move forward to take on the likes of Manami Toyota or Aja Kong in future title bouts.
    Backstage Segment

Once again we return to the dressing where Roman Reign's "Family" are assembled for the reaction to what has just gone down and we see Jimmy Uso once again approach Jimmy Snuka but this time he extends his hand stating "No hard feeling Uce, both gals brought their A game out their" Jimmy's response was not as cordial however "At least your woman didn't embarrass herself by using her as$ as a weapon tonight. She ain't a real Islander like my high flying little girl but if you want to see what a real Islander looks like then watch this!" He then pushes his way past Jimmy smacking his shoulder into him as he exits the lockeroom on his way out for his match. Jimmy (Uso) looks seriously peeved and turns to Roman asking "Is he going to get away with talking to me like that Uce?" Roman's response is simple as he states that Snuka better hope he isn't the one who embarrasses himself tonight.
"Superfly" Jimmy Snuka vs El Santo
Backstory - The heelish vs The Hero

"The man with no fear" sounds like what you would call a superhero (Daredevil) but it is scarily the moniker given to the man who attacked Mexican Icon El Santo and his opponent at KOTR in order to gain a tactical advantage in the final. But the man whose name means The Saint in English was willing to be the bigger man and turn the other cheek if Jimmy Snuka would advise his daughter against her heelish antics (after she shockingly turned on and attacked Naomi) but superfly was not about to take parenting advice from a man he later described as a "no good spick" and hit him with a thunderous kick to the nether regions before almost mimicing his daughter by repeatidly driving his foe into the nearby ringpost before hitting him with a Superfly Splash in the center of the ring. Then as he stood with one foot placed on top of El Santos chest he adds the ultimate insult by literally spitting on the Lucha Legend. The BWA's latino audience were not the only ones who believed he may have gone too far this time however
    JPvkb3S.jpg

Unable to stop himself from sticking up for his fellow masked fan favorite none other than Batman found himself now embroiled in El Santo & Snuka's feud but no matter how they tried the two heros (and often Hackenscmidth) were too honorable while Snuka and his cohorts were willing to sink to a level that they wouldn't to get the upper hand. The most obvious example of this was when Snuka tried to rip El Santo's mask off his face and act of disrespect which directly lead to El Santo demanding this one on one match up. The following week Superfly somehow took things even further when he came through the ring as Batman was accepting Doink! and Banes challenge and attacked him from behind and then demasked the cape crusader revealing him to be none other than Bruce Wayne an act he said he would repeat at Wrestlepalooza with El Santo. Although Batman's identity reveal was later ret conned as a elaborate ruse to allow Batman to get the jump on Doink and Bane when they targetted Bruce his point had been made and The Man without Fear had proved himself a man worth fearing.

    Match details:

Snuka is clearly trying to make a point as this one begins and in particular his knife edge chops like seriously vicious but El Santo is able to give as good as he takes. For every dropkick or diving crossbody the man from Fiji hit his mexican counterpart had a response including a very impressive set of Plancha and suicide dives to the outside. The match however started to break down when the Latino Icon has Snuka locked in his La de a Caballo (Camel clutch) in the center of the ring as it is then that the first sign of outside interference rears it's head with the arrival of Bane!

The referee sees him coming and tries to block his patch but instead gets tossed from inside to outside the ring in a huge ref bump before Bane enters the ring and halts the submission by grabbing El Santo by the mask and nearly ripping it clear off him as he throws him off Snuka and into the corner.

The two men beat down on El Santo which Snuka on a number of occasions trying to rip his mask off his face before returning to the physical assault. Eventually they stop as Snuka signals to the top rope. Bane places one foot on the downed crowd favorite to hold him place while Superfly climbs to the tope rope but just as he gets there Batman comes (out through the crowd) charging into the ring and connections right on Banes chin with a sweet dropkick that knocks him clear outside the ring. He then follows him to the outside where the two continue to brawl until security seperate them (They can settle their beef later tonight)
    0ifhazky_2311151416191.jpg

Meanwhile back in the ring Snuka arguably takes too long to adjust himself after what just went down but then signals his intention to go for his Superfly Splash. However unlike his daughter in the previous match Jimmy Snuka does not connect with El Santo rolling out of the way at the last second. The result of this however is reminiscant pf what happened to Tamina with Snuka clearly having hurt himself with the impact and his opponent being the first to react and in this case react by himself scaling the ropes and going for his own top rope finishing maneuver, the Tope de Cristo (Diving headbutt) which he hits. The ref gets back into the ring just in time then to count to 3 and we have a winner!
    Winner:
    El Santo

After the bout El Santo Grabs the Mic and gives an impassioned speech about how good can overcome evil before making an announcement in his native tongue that the Spanish speaking audience seem to have fits of joy in response to. Later the announce team relay that he suggested he will run for office in the upcoming Mexican election. They wonder if this is serious but both think that if it is he just might win!

    482dc909cac29a179963d17e882db260--mexico.jpg
    **Post match Segment**
Snuka is still in the ring after the victorious El Santo has departed and angrily refuses medical assistance and assistance from BWA personnel t exit the ring when suddenly Roman Reigns & The Usos make their way out to the ring. One Uso brother either side of Snuka and The Big Dawg in front of him as he tries to drag himself to his feet. When he finally does BOOM! double Superkick from the brothers that sends him into the ring ropes and back straight into a Roman Reigns Spear! Moments later and Snuka is being assisted my medical personal but this time without resistance as he is now completely unconscious!

The Godfather & Val Venis vs Manami Toyota & Aja Kong
    Inter-gender tag team match
Backstory - 2017 Pimp and a pornstar rebranded

Val & The Godfather may have re-branded themselves (as entrepreneurs in the film and model agency) on the way to becoming the BWA tag team champions but people could see through that and did not think they had really changed. Some of the female lockeroom in particule Manami Toyota and Aja Kong (who had been pushing for female wrestling to be taken more seriously) had taken particular exception to their presence in the BWA and how degrading they were to women.
    x7LpjTj.gif

After they had actually started to target members of the female roster (in particular Naomi) and their involvement in the woman's title match at KOTR which lead to Toyota dropping her title the duo (Kong & Toyota) decided they could not take it anymore and challenged the now former tag champs (Godfather & Venis) to a match at Wrestlepalooza. In the following weeks Veins & The Godfather laugh off this challenge and continue to make fun of their challengers until Kong (who after her years in the BWA has good enough English to do so) makes a cutting promo on the two men insulting their manhood amongst other things and essentially goading them into accepting the challenge.

    match details:

A much more light hearted affair than what went before it with Val and The Godfather doing everything they can to infuriate their opponents who they clearly don't seem to be taking seriously from acting like they enjoyed an early slap to flexing in front of them and finally avoiding an attack and getting behind (in this case Manami Toyota) only to spank her as$ before rolling to the outside and laughing about it.

It was at this point however that things started to take a turn for the worst for the male competitors however as the entire female lockeroom (minus the 2 ladies who battled for the title) come out and essentially turn this into a lumberjill match after first shooing The godfathers "models" from ringside. Val Venis is ushered back into the ring while the godfather is caught up with his ladies on the outside. It is this that has the refs attention as Toyota grabs Venis by his B*llocks and gives him a, lets call it an innovated pumphandel suplex before tagging in Aja Kong.
    mqdefault.jpg

Kong then hits Val with her Brainbuster finisher for the 3 count and a very crowd pleasing moment for the women of the BWA
    Winners:
    Aja Kong & Manami Toyota

    GWvXiYE.jpg
Why book this? - It's 2018 and I have a pimp and a pornstar on my roster, it's almost hard not to book an angle like this. It's something light and different for the card and tbh there was no way the bad guys were going to win this one. If I had been able to write more TV shows they would have gotten the upper hand in the build up but they had to get their comeuppance her on the BWA's grandest stage
    Dusty Rhodes vs Nick Bocwinkel
The American Dream's career on the line
    Backstory:

To put it mildly since his arrival in the BWA Nick Bockwinkel has been a massive d!ck, always refering to himself as a Hall of Famer even though that honor was bestowed upon him in the BWA arch rival MNG productions. Then when he became the boards representative he clearly began to abuse his power. It was he who added the stip to Dusty's KOTR title match for example which meant that after his loss he could never have another BWA world title match not only that but the guy kept taking shots at Dusty calling him an overweight joke. There is only so far you can push a man like Dusty Rhodes however and after it was Rhodes who revealed to D'Lo Brown that Luca Brasi was the one controlling his contract, a fact that Bockwinkel had wanted to keep quiet, it was clear That the American Dream and the the BWA boards on air representative were on a collision course.

At this point Bockwinkel want's nothing to do with Dusty nor in ring action in general but it is again one of his "genius stips" that entice him to compete as he says he will only agree to the match up if Dusty is willing to put his career on the line!

    match details:

These two men put on a wrestling clinic but the fans are clearly on the side of The American Dream and Dream almost gets the job done early one after a serious of Bionic elbows put him on top. However when he goes for a pinfall he is shocked to see it broken up by D'lo Brown. The announcers recall how Bockwinkel gave him his match with Luca Brasi and how he was perhaps repaying that debt here tonight. I t was his distraction at ringside that turned the tide in Bockwinkel's favor and he began to wear down Dusty with submission after submission move. First a boston crab, then an indian deathlock before one of Dusty's own finishers the figure four leg lock but the dream refused to tap. The Crowd were chanting for Rhodes and this clearly got to Bockwinkel and all it took was one momentary lapse of concentration for Dusty to revers it into a figure four of his own. Too close to the ropes it was however and he was forced to break the hold but still this allowed him to roll outside and get back to his feet.

D'Lo attempted to attack him but seemingly Dusty was drawing energy from the crowd who were 100% behind him and for want of a better term started to "Hulk up". After hitting D'Lo with a few Bionic elbows he turned his attention back to the ring which he re-entered), meanwhile D'Lo was heard saying something about not needing this, controlling his own contract now and after he picked himself up off the mat being out of there as he headed to the back.

Bockwinkel was incensed and screamed at D'Lo to return but of course just this momentary lack of attention on his opponent was fatal for the former AWA champion as Dusty delivered Multiple punch and slap variations, a Flying clothesline and a Bionic Elbow on Bockwinkel before once again locking in his figure four leg lock but this time in the center of the ring. Bockwinkel holds out for the best part of a minute but just cannot break the hold no matter what he tries and eventually much to the crowds pleasure is forced to tap out.

    Winner: Dusty Rhodes
    the_dream_dusty_rhodes_by_mikemarsart-d9w8620.png
Why book this? - Let's be honest, The heel authority figure going around bigging up his accomplishments in another draft fed was never going over at my version of wrestlemania and who better to shut his mouth than the son of a Plumber beloved by all Dusty Rhodes

    Jesse Ventura vs Nigel McGuinness
Backstory: These two men never got along, not as announce partners and not now as in ring competitors. McGuinness has been calling Ventura out for as long as this commentator can remember saying that he could no longer last in the ring against the best of today and now he has a chance to prove it, to back up his words and to take on "The Body"
    400px-PredatorM134handheld-14.jpg

He may no longer be the man who carried that mini gun around the set of predator but has he got enough left in his tank to put McGuinness in his place? find out now!

    Match Details:

Ventura has wanted to get his hands on McGuinness for weeks and finally he gets his chance here and it really shows as he starts the fight a million miles an hour laying a serious beat down on him and it was clear as day that Nigel was rocked, so much so that he left himself open for Venturas finishing maneuver within minutes of the bout beginning and when "The Body" connected with his Body Breaker much of the crowd thought this one could be done already. McGuinness however had other plans and kicked out after 2.

Jesse kept up his early pace however and as the commentators wondered if he could keep it up at this rate they also noted how he was pulling tricks out of his bag they had not seem him use in years including his former AWA finishing move the reverse bulldog but again it was not enough to get the win as his opponent was left close enough to the side of the ring to grab the bottom rope and break the pin.

The story in build up had been about if Ventura still had to legs to last in the ring with the younger guys of today and perhaps trying to finish it early like this was his way of countering this as he continued at top speed calling for another of his patented Bodybreakers but when he lifted the heelish McGuinness up from the mat Nigel catches him with a low blow that takes all his momentum away. The face commentator is apoplectic that the ref misses this but the Brit isn't waiting around to see if he gets away with it and instead plants the hunched over Ventura's head into the mat with a DDT before locking in his London's Dungeon submission move (as seen below) and holding Ventura in it for an inordinate amount of time.

Eventually McGuinness releases the hold but after the low blow / submission combo all Ventura simply is not the same. He is moving much slower and Nigel has the clear advantage something which is highlighten the one time "The Body" does seem to get on top again when after a big clothesline Jesse goes to the top rope but he does so so slowly that Nigel not only gets up but is also able to catch him before he could execute any top rope move and instead McGuinness is able to deliver his Tower of London top rope hung cutter on him for the 3 count.

Ventura looks totally dejected as he watches his former announce colleague have his arm raised and takes an age to steady himself exit the ring and head to the back.
    Winner:
    Nigel McGuinness

    mYc6NbL.jpg
Why I booked this - Establishes McGuinness as a hated heal and starts an arc for Ventura which feeds into the story that lead to the match where he will question himself and his ability in the ring. However it also leaves open the possibility that the feud may not be done because Ventura had been on top until Nigel cheated resorting to a low blow to derail "The body"'s momentum
Adam "Batman" West & George Hackenschmidt vs Doink & Robert "Bane" Swenson
Backstory: From Bruce Wayne the BWA investor to Adam west the Mayor of Quahog were many of our road to Wrestlepalooza shows were based Adam West was a great character but it was his turn as Batman that had the fans tuning in especially when they founf out that apparently at least one of his greatest foes. A man he admired more than most however was George Hackenschmidt and when he was targetted by a mad clown Batman knew what had to be done. Unfortunately for our caped crusader the man who he later learned was not infact The Joker but Doink was not alone but came with none other than the man who broke Batman's back Bane in tow.
    M_for_Mushroom_01.jpg

Batman & Bane tried to settle things between themselves but this feud had grown beyond just the two of them and when an extreme rules match between them went off the rails and drew in doink and Hakenschmidt something had to be done
    latest?cb=20130520015815

The 4 mens rivalry had in fact spiralled across the whole show engulfing other feuds such as that of El Santo and Jimmy Snukas so eventually a date and a match had to be set for all 4 men. All the shenanigans were left behind them and the final battle between good and evil could take place in a BWA and what better a place than at Wrestlepalooza!

    Match Details:

Total comedy match which sees Hackenschmidt and surprisingly to some Doink doing most of the heavy lifting. Meanwhile it is Batman with both Bane and Doink who ends up in most of the matches big spots. including when he uses his bat grappling hook to hog tie Doink on the outside stopping him from interfering before he turns the tables on Bane delivering a backbreaker of his own to Bane. Immediately after this Hackenschmidt is tagged in and locks in his innovated bearhug. Bane's now injured back is highlighted by the announce team as the main reason why he eventually taps here much to the crowd enjoyment.
    Winner:
Adam "Batman" West & George Hackenschmidt
    2ffbcca38cae199d0a67ffb538066c89d5c7910f1db5f4bd25da4ddf667cd94c.jpg
Why I booked this - The above match was a little rushed as I didn't have as much time when writing this one but this is Batman vs an evil Clown and the man who broke his back before of course he had to win!
Kenta Kobashi & Mitsuahru Misawa vs The Usos
BWA Tag Team Titles Uso Penitentiary (Cage)Match
    Backstory:

Kobashi & Misawa are not only PW legends but draft legends and the only times I remember them wrestling outside of the BWA they either put on an all time classic (below from WECWF) or went on to become MNG productions world champion (Misawa)
    HWFHQGTm.jpg

However a lot of that success came as singles stars and now despite entering the BWA Hall of Fame together they may have met their match in the form of a tag team but not just any tag team, The Tag Team Champions The Usos. As part of Roman Reigns' "Family" they have been a constant thorn in the side of their japanese counterparts especially seeing as they seemingly had the representative of the BWA board Nick Bockwinkel in their pocket which is why this match tonight is an "Uso penitentiary" (Cage) match!
    8cjdKxa.jpg

Match Details: Before the match began there was a special presentation where Kobashi & Misawa were honored as the first ever BWA Hall of famers and presented their Hall of Fame rings right as they began their acceptance speech they were interrupted by the unmistakable sound of The Usos making their arrival on the scene and the two brothers welcomed the now Hall of Famers to the Uso penitentiary which signaled the steel cage being lowered from above their Japanese opponents who were already in the ring.

The announcers picked up on a theme that repeated throughout this match quite a bit with Kobashi & Misawa often being on top but the Usos who are more experienced in cage matches always being the ones to use their surroundings to their advantage and the steel cage as a weapon to get on top. They were vicious in doing so repeatedly not only driving their opponents into the steel mesh but also performing double team moves that resulted in the HOFers heads being driven into it, such as 2 different times when we saw double superkicks with this end result.

Kobashi & Misawa are by no means shown up by their younger advisories however. Misawa hit both a Tiger Driver and his innovated Emerald Flowsion (sitout side powerslam) on Jimmy Uso for example but just like when Kenta Kobashi hit his Burning Hammer (Inverted Death Valley driver) on Jey Uso their pinfall attempt is broken up by the downed mans brother. Despite being able to get themselves in the position to deliver such devastating blows it is clear they are struggling to put away their opponents given the stipulation means both tag team members are always in ring at the same time. Eventually they decide that their best bet may be to escape the cage by scaling the wall on the side but they are not as fast as their opponents and by the time they have almost reached the top of the cage the usos are up and onto them by tossing them straight back into the ring with devastating belly to back suplexes delivered while standing on the top turnbuckles.

Instead of going for the pin however Jimmy and Jey are then the ones to scale the side of the cage except they do so at a much quicker pace than Kobashi/misawa had and are at the top while their rivals are still downed. They are about to go down the other side when they exchange a glance to each other and suddenly both they and the crowd know what has to happen next. They then channel their father at fully loaded 2000 and we get a Double Uce diving splash off the tope rope which is followed by a double pinfall attempt....1.....2............3!

despite the battle they just had the brothers stand up under their own weight and have their hands raised in victory while Kobashi & Misawa need to be helped to the back nursing injuries.
    Winner:
    Jimmy & Jey Uso

    foto_0000004420160415201247-400x200.png
Why I booked this - This match, performance and that final moment with the double splash which would see them overcome their far more illustrious opponents would make The Usos massive stars. This would be their moment while Kobashi/Misawa already got to enter the Hall of Fame and it also leads into the main event nicely where Roman the champ would seemingly have the advantage as after the match Okada's boys left ringside with the assistance of medical personal while Reign's family stood tall.
    Roman Reigns vs Kazuchika Okada
    BWA World Heavyweight Championship match
    Backstory:

The Chosen one of the WWE is now in the BWA and seemingly has the boards backing there too except in the BWA he has fully embraced his heel side which is good cos there is no way the fans would cheer how he has been acting in the BWA including as he put it how he "Killed The American Dream" referring to his vicious dismantling of Dusty Rhodes.

The Big Dawg did not take kindly to the arrival of Kazuchika Okada to the BWA. The man who had held the IWGP world title in New Japan longer than anyone else had voluntarily relinquished his belt so as to come to the BWA and prove that he was not only the best in his home nation but the best in the entire world.

Reign's, The Usos and management put obstacle after obstacle infront of him and he even had to win the King of The Ring tournament just to get his shot at the title but he never stooped to their level of sneak attacks and backroom politics. We have seen a lot of good vs Evil here tonight but can Okada really dethrone the Big Dag?
    sTKhgkf.jpg

    Match Details:

*Usos stay at ringside after their match and introduce The Big Dawg! Heel commentator complains that the champ is coming out first!

*They are a constant distraction at ringside including when Jey grabs Okadas leg distracting him and setting him up for a Spear! which leads to a 2 count.

*It is Jimmy who slides Roman brass knucks when the ref isn't looking and then again retrieves them after Roman slides the evidence out of the ring post superman punch. Unfortunately for Reigns however the move knocks Okada through the ropes and to the outside where pinfall is impossible
    giphy.gif

*The Usos try to throw Okada back into Reigns but at this point the injured Misawa/Kobashi come charging down to ringside to even things up

*The representative of the board Nick Bockwinkel charges down to ringside while all 6 men brawl on the outside and screams at the ref to ban Kobashi/Misawa from ringside. At this point the Ref has gotten Reigns back into the ring (Okada is layed out on the outside) but when the ring announcer announces the refs decision Bockwinkel is incensed to hear that both the Usos and Okadas buddies are being sent to the back.

*Bockwinkel then circumvents the refs authority and once again via the ring announcer informs the world that this is now a no disqualification match. As this is announced Reigns begins to remove the turnbuckle covers insider the ring then turns and looks towards the outside where Bockwinkel is now picking up Okada at ringside and goes to throw him back into the ring where Roman awaits but no! Okada reverses his Irish whip and sends the authorithy figure crashing into the ring apron making him wince in pain but not as much as he would feel moments later as Okada hit him with a Rainmaker Lariat!
    tumblr_n25g7bRl091qhjbxeo1_400.gif?w=840&ssl=1

    * Okada got back in the ring and despite being somewhat worse for wear seems to be reveling in the fact that it was finally 1 on 1, Reigns vs Okada and the fans react to that simple fact

*The two begin to brawl, exchanging big rights and lefts until both me are barely able to stay upright, the final blow landing from Okada making Reigns stumble back a few feet but in fact only far enough to allow him to spring into action, charge at his opponent and leap into the air to go for a huge Superman Punch and BOOM! Okada is sent crashing into the corner... surely he can't take much more

    * With Okada down in the corner The Big Dawg lets out his signature war cry and charges at him to finish proceedings with a huge Spear but no! Okada rolls out of the way and Reigns goes head first into the exposed steel or the turnbuckle. Okada then immediately grabs him and throws him head first into the exposed turnbuckle on the other side of the ring.

    * After two big blows to the head Reigns is busted open and for the first time in the match it genuinely looks like Okada could complete his comeback and he sure does not let up hitting a huge Lariat before going for a pinfall...1...2...kickout! The groan throughout the crowd is audable but Okada does not give up

*He grabs Reigns up off the floor and tosses him head first into the final two exposed turnbuckles he had missed out on before before a now covered in blood Reigns stumbles into the center of the ring and BOOM! another Rainmaker Lariat and once again going for a pin 1....2............3!
    Winner:
    Kazuchika Okada

    okada-1496930198-800.jpg
Why I booked this - The culmination to hat the WWE have started by pushing Reigns down everyones throats. Turn him heel and book long term to the bigget show your company has at which point you put over the biggest face you have and Okada quite literally might just be the best wrestler in the world too as an added bonus

If TNA were to get behind a tag division of Styles and Angle, Kaz and Daniels, The Guns, and Joe and Magnus for a few months it would be very tremendous.

    Sub Aries for Angle :p

    Why?

Aries is kicking ass as a singles wrestler and looks to be moving up the card too (first X-Division champion to do so since Styles or Joe??), why would you waste that in the tag division?

Styles is feuding with a tag team (still not sure why he was facing Angle but oh well) and Angle doesn't look to have anything to do. It's a perfect fit and gives a big boost to the tag division having AJ Styles and Kurt Angle in it.

Wouldn't mind teaming two of Hardy, Anderson and RVD together (the third staying as is) either to allow Bully Ray and Aries to move up to the spot just outside the main event.

I imagine Angle's a bit of a physical wreck but he'll never stop, so putting him in a tag team where he does half the workload, I'm a big fan of. As well with Styles, really looking forward to a kick-ass babyface tag team that can holy-crap wrestle. Definitely TNA's tag division is really looking up over the past few months, with the teams mentioned in previous posts.

Here's my thoughts/review of the PPV. I'm really glad to say that this is TNA's best PPV in a long time. It's worth noting that both Dixie AND Bischoff had nothing to do with this event. (credit Dave Meltzer)

Kazarian & Daniels vs Samoa Joe & Magnus
Both teams looked really smooth and worked together well. Even got a few glimses of what Joe was like a few years ago. Fast-paced and some nice spots, some tag-team spots no less, really enjoyable. Shocked to see the heels win (since it's The Jonas brothers first reign) but it makes total sense as Kaz/Daniels shot a relatively big angle with styles, and it's been building. Daniels looked overjoyed with the title, hilarious. Fun opener, would like to see again. It was also great to see Joe/Magnus chalk this loss up and are still a strong team. I f***ing hate teasing dissension.

    Brooke Tessmacher vs Gail Kim
My dud of the night. Brooke (in odd America colours) botched her first exchanged, looked dumbfounded. Thankfully nothing was as bad as that "what should we do now?" spot. Kim tried her best but the match was merely bad, imo. I wonder if it's a subtle heel thing where Kim showed off NO cleavage and Brooke showed off loads, so people cheer for her more.

    D Von vs Robbie E & T
Matching awful sweaters is a fantastic gimmick. Your pretty average match and what you'd expect out of these two. Ugh, dissension between the Robbies.

    Mr. Anderson vs Jeff Hardy
Actually better than your average Kennedy match. Some decent exchanges. Here starts the "X7 booking" where people kick out of each other's finishers; Hardy didn't get the win with a swanton. Earl Hebner messed up the finish and the wrestlers weren't happy but it's not like it would've changed much in this match. It wasn't great but it was above average.

    Eric Young vs Crimson
This is probably the most heat Crimson's got over this last while. How long is his streak again, over a year? He's good on the mic as well. I love EY's antics, and ODB is a good comedy side-kick as well. EY's like the Santino of TNA. He has lots of gimmicks/affectations and they make his comedy matchups really enjoyable. Like although Crimson laid down the challenge, EY came in a locked up with the ref. Hilarious!!

    Austin Aries vs Bully Ray
Short of those TLC matches, this is Bully Ray's finest match. It was ALL storytelling, putting Aries over huge as an underdog face. Aries took a number of silly bumps, none moreso than falling from the top rope and smashing his back and head against the steel railing. Poor guy. His back showed the scars. Bully ray chopped the shít out of him as well. My only fault with this is that they did the X7 booking, this is a mid-card match. The escape was a bit of a botch from the running powerbomb but the submission finish was great. This could've definitely been stretched over 2-3 matches but it was all condensed into this one. Well done both lads. It really put over Aries v strong. Both are great characters and have wonderful chemistry. I just worry about how hard Aries will go to get noticed. But thankfully this looks to have paid off. This felt like this was his "Orton beats Foley in a hardcore match at Backlash" moment.

    Kurt Angle vs AJ Styles
Two babyfaces, excellent wrestlers, wrestle for 20 minutes. And it was great. It felt fresh and unfettered. Both are smooth workers and really compliment each others. Again X7 booking but since these guys have been through many wars with each other it didn't matter, and it was the sub-main event. A great, simple pro-wrestling match. I'm also really looking forward to seeing them as a tag team. It'll take the load off Angle but still give him a change to have great matches, considering the tag division at the moment.

    RVD vs Bobby Roode
There were a ton of crazy spots/bumps in this match, RVD had his working boots on; which I was so happy to see. Everyone on this card was out to prove a point. Spinebuster? Nah, onto the ladder! I imagine both guys must be in bits after this match. The finish to the match had RVD botch jumping onto the ladder --which looked nasty as his twisted his own leg to make it look worse-- and Roode doing the smart thing and including it in the match and immediately grabbing a ladder. RVD then tried to make a comeback and positioned himself to land the back of his head on a chair, holy crap. Best place to do it is on PPV RVD (as nobody remembers impact) and Roode really benefited from this match. Well done both, and to the roster (bar Tessmacher) for their performance!

Overall I was pleasantly surprised by the PPV, I recommend giving it a watch, made me feel much better about TNA, and hope that this isn't just an anomaly.

    No Garett Bischoff helps too.

The only problem is you can be sure TNA won't build on this, and will **** up with the next impact.

Any of RVD getting his leg wrapped in the ladder? That looked like it hurt a lot!

Also, I was praying Styles didn't slip when he did that inside to outside springboard in the second picture. He has slipped a fair few times going outside to inside and landed hard. Could only imagine how bad a landing he'd have if he slipped that time.

Watched this last night and thought it was a great PPV, hopefully it'll be a sign of better things to come. I wonder if the quality of Extreme Rules made them up their game?

RVD/Roode was really good and it was good to see RVD when he's not on autopilot! The monkey flip spot onto the ladder was great stuff. The landing on the chair looked pretty bad too! Also, RVD's selling of a DDT has to be the best ever.

Bully Ray nad Aries was fantastic, both were really impressive and Ray is a fantastic heel, love how he went for a shot on the back as Aries came back into the ring! Speaking of which, that looked pretty painful!

Was it just me or did anyone notice that a lot of people are using rock bottom type moves? Noticed Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe doing it from the corner and Bully Ray doing it too, there may have even been someone else. Just found it kinda funny.

There is a spot on the card for BWA Wrestlepalooza this year that needs to be filled and I believe I have the ultimate solution to my quandary with this here pick, Marvel at the might of my 2nd last draft pick...
    Robert Swensen!

All three guys have been doing it for years (it's always been Daniels' setup for the BME (and Joe's at Sacrifice was awesome, I really love his corner version of it)).

Yeah I just seemed to notice it last night. Always loved Joe's version out of the corner, looks amazing.

Its a urinagi Daniels uses not really a Rock Bottom. Bully Ray does use it tho...Rock wouldn't mind too much though its not as if he is doing it on a show that he appears on.

Joe and Daniels have been using them forever. Neither are even really close to a Rock Bottom. Bully Ray's is much closer but he's been using that for a whole now aswell.
