Thats a good entry level bike, and enough to get you started. All the 2012 peleton range seem to have triple chainrings at the front which means you have a very low gear to help with the steepest hills. You can get the same low gears with a compact double chainring setup, but that doesn't seem to be an option with the peleton, and not really an issue as both arrangements work fine.

Cube are probably the best value available in bike shops, but just in case you feel like looking at alternatives, here's a recently compiled list of €1000 bikes (with thanks to g0g)

Before handing over your money, check with the shop what is the lead-time for that Cube. I was considering buying one a while back, but was told I could be waiting 3 months (there seems to be supply issues with Cube).

I think the Cube Peloton is available in both compact and triple.
