When I switch on my camera there is just a blank white screen. I brought it to a Camera shop today and they told me the sensor was gone and quoted me €99 to get it fixed. I reckon the sensor would cost two or three Euro so it sounds like a bit of a rip-off. Anybody else had this problem or know where I could get a better price:confused:

Do you know what the sensor does....? It's the basis of the camera...

If the screen doesn't display settings/text it's the lcd not sensor. If it was the sensor in a P&S then the part won't cost €100 but it does involve getting ~€50 part and then installing it plus sometimes have to calibrate it. Just so you know it's not a 5min job. If it is the LCD though I may be able to help you out.
