    Hey there,

Apologies if this is something others have asked before.

i recently embarked on a new fitness and food regime. I've been following some weight training blogs and finding it hard to translate to everyday living.

So, for example - when someone suggests scrambled egg whites - Can I use Olive oil? Salt/pepper? Is it ok to use milk?

    That's my main question!

Is there a big difference between steaming and boiling veg?

Thanks in advance - sorry if these are dumb questions

olive oil, butter, coconut oil are all fine; but what happened to the yolk?
salt/pepper surely are fine, same with milk if you have no allergy/intolerance

from what I read, steaming keeps more nutrition in. You can also boil it with minimum amount of water (I used 1 glass, but make sure they don't burn!) to be close enough to steaming.

What are you trying to achieve? Weight loss? Muscle building? General fitness?

Without knowing that it is difficult to tell you what you need to do although you certainly need fat in your daily intake. Salt/pepper is generally fine as is milk but depending on what you are after low fat might be better than full fat etc.

On an aside, high protein diets (assuming you are building muscle) still needs a fair amount of carbohydrates. IMO opinion, there are very few valid reasons to cut out carbs (esp. complex ones) in this day and age.

I'm currently on a high protein diet, what is the best type of fruit to eat? On my list of foods there aren't any listed?:confused: ( Following the high protein diet to build muscle)

high protein diet = really dumb idea

A diet which is filled with good fats, plenty of protein and all your carbs coming from non-grain sources = win.

high protein, low carb without the addition of fats will leave most feeling hungry and tired
