CAD For Chemical Engineers

Hi there, I plan on learning CAD, as I have no experience or knowledge of CAD. As an engineer I work alot with P&ID's and would love to be able to CAD them myself. What CAD application should a Chemical Engineer work with ? Also, I need to purchase a new PC or laptop to operate CAD, so what would be the min spec required.…

Hi there,

Also, if anybody knows of CAD courses in the Cork region that would be good also.

You're looking at 2D drawings for P&ID, they're mostly in .dwg or .dxf formats.

Draftsight is a free 2D CAD package so you can use that. It's pretty much the same as AutoCAD. If you look around online you should find some tutorials.
