TVs that can record Saorview to USB?

Hi, just thinking about my technically clueless parents after switching to Saorview, are there any easy options for recording tv?

I know there are probably boxes out there with built-in recording capabilities but I want to get rid of their old CRTs and replace them with 32" tvs.

Are there any tvs out there that can record straight to USB or will I have to buy a seperate box for doing that?

Some larger Panasonics will record to USB in an encryted format which can only be replayed on the same set that made the recording. Don't know about their smaller panels.

Their Viera Plasma and Smart plasma ranges seem to have the feature, but not the cheaper ranges. This one has it:

Yeah I saw that, the Samsung ones are upwards of a grand aswell, no way Im going to get them to spend that kind of money, hopefully LG or someone will release a cheap one sometime otherwise Ill have to buy a recorder box. Thanks Cnocbui.

Sony have USB record on most of their sets. Any model that ends in 3 or basically (apart from EX523)

Same restrictions as most manaufacturers
- can only record one channel at a time (what you're watching or something programmed on the scheduler)
- needs to record to HDD (not flash drives)
- programmes recorded can only be played back on the set that recorded them
- HDD is formatted so you can not have any other content on there
