Porride + museli - fattening?

Hi, 3 questions I am hoping someone can help me with.

    Q.1
Since the New Year I have cut out as much as possible carbs from my diet - pasta, rice, bread and potatoes, with occassional allowances when i get caught out.
Its doing the trick. I was 12 stone 8 and am now down to 11 stone 11.
(3 or 4 hard workouts in the gym are also helping I am sure!)

I have found though in the last 2 weeks I have started to slip with the No Carb rule, where I have started having a bowl of museli (no added sugar type) or porridge for brekkie.
Before I would have had scrambled eggs with a rasher and some beans.
Could someone let me know which is less fattening / better for loosing weight.

    2 other questions.
Are "0% fat 0% added sugar" yogurts fattening?

Does anyone find fitday.com good? I am thinking I should start using it to monitor my calorie intake/output to help loose a few more pounds.

Many Thanks in advance for any replies.

Well done on the weight loss feels great to get rid of all the stodgy foods.

Ah porridge is great, you always see people posting about it on here, muesli without added sugar is fine but check the ingredients to be sure I don't see a problem with oats and a bit of dried fruit,
Egg is a really good breakfast for weight loss, butter is good in very small amounts, I used to put a big chunk in and eat it with bread yikes but eggs are defo a thumbs up! I would say have a rasher without the fat but I think each rasher has a good bit of salt?

I used to eat 0% sugar Activia? things until I realised it was Aspartame in it instead, I don't eat artificial sweenters on a day to day basis as I'm iffy about it but I don't think they are more fattening than reg yogs have loads of added sugar and syrup, I heard greek yoghurt is good though.

0% fat yogs might mean more sugar, I do eat low fat cheese but not sure about the yoghurts usually avoid low fat if it means higher sugar.

I couldnt get into that website I use myplate on Livestrong because it tracks the nutrition info as well as calories helped me hugely, there are a lot of foods on their system like brands and even Irish foods.

I've tried 3 or 4 other tracking websites and never got into any of the other ones, defo go for one with nutrition info can't remember if the one you listed has the option to track protein, carbs, sugars etc.

I agree with the above poster but if you are cutting out all those carbs, you should definitely increase fat intake. Limiting butter and cutting fat off rashers shouldn't be encouraged, unless you are getting the rest of your fats from other sources.

    Many Thanks for the replies.
good to hear the porridge / sugar free museli is good to eat on a low carb diet.
For some reason I had it in my head that any hard carbs (including oats) caused fat retention (due to sugar levels and glycemic load etc.)
    Thanks again.

Just because they aren't adding extra sugar doesn't mean that there is no sugar in there.
A jar of pure honey could be labelled 0% fat and 0% added sugar.
But the reality is that honey is almost completely sugar.
